Customer care at this hotel was not up to the IHG standards. First, I specifically called the local number when making reservations as I need adjoining rooms. Being the first visit time to this location, I was unfamiliar with the layout. During my reservation call (to the local hotel number) I asked 4-5 times to verify this hotel had adjoining rooms and I was assured they did and it was not a problem. Upon arrival I was surprised and as you can expect very frustrated and disappointed when the check in person explained that they have NO adjoining rooms. Because I had children with me it was extremely important to have adjoining rooms. The very first thing they offered was to move me to another hotel in the area with adjoining rooms. But, I specifically needed to be at this hotel due to a friend/family wedding and most people staying there. Secondly, once we conceded and went to our room, I noticed that every 2 rooms were accessed by a private alcove. Again, frustrated/disappointed to see that we weren't even in an alcove, we had to walk down the hall to our other room. I immediately called and they said there was nothing they could do about it, but they would have the manager contact me the next morning. I was attending an early wedding and specifically provided available times to be contacted. Two days went by and no one attempted contacting me. I feel this is extremely unprofessional and a dis-service to customers who are faithful to a brand. This was the most disappointing experience I've had in years and I travel for work each week and stay at 2-3 hotels a week.

Having stayed at the Hotel under previous management, prior to this property returning to IHG, the Holiday Inn remodel was successful in returning the look of the Hotel to its origins when built in the 60's. Great hospitality in a very convenient "downtown" location.

I was in quite a hurry to get to an appointment and found smiling, courteous, Maria, cleaning in a nearby room. I asked her if I could leave my key cards with her rather than going down to the front desk to turn them in as I usually do. I recall her greeting me in past visits and she is always so kind, I felt comfortable asking her. She appeared genuinely glad to be of help to me and graciously offered to turn them in for me. She told me to have a great day and thanks to her, my day had gotten off to a wonderful start. I have always been grateful for the cleanliness and orderly presentation of the rooms, but now I will have an even greater appreciation knowing that someone like Maria takes pride in her part of making people's stay great.
