The room was fabulous! Had a king suite and it was very spacious, clean and comfortable! Staff was very accommodating in helping with directions. Liked the fact that the hotel was round....you could always find your way back (we walked a lot). Raleigh was a great town to visit....haven't been here in 30 years. Ready to come back! The only thing I didn't like was parking was $7.00 a day. ... But it's a city and I guess that's part of the deal.

The first thing you see nearing the hotel is the lot next to it -- is this parking? It's not clear, but it looks sketchy. Parking in the hotel garage isn't free, but at least it wasn't expensive. Small lobby, but we were greeted nicely at the desk. Rooms are okay -- look clean, decent bed, soft pillows (although 2 were labeled firm). Bathroom ridiculously small -- have to maneuver yourself around the door to close it.
Location is close to downtown dining area, but still a few blocks walks -- no big deal. The problems came at night. No one mentioned that the freight train that rolls through town at all hours blows its whistle. That, plus the drunk pounding on the door next to ours at 2 in the morning made for a terrible night's sleep.
We were going to stay another night, but instead moved to a hotel a couple of miles away -- much nicer room for less money, and still close to downtown. We told the front desk person why we were not going to stay longer, and she was very apologetic, but didn't offer any compensation.

The lovely lady at the check in desk went above and beyond in giving me directions to local venues that I wanted to visit.
