I was accused for stealing a decorative pillow ribbon from my room and was charged 15 GPB . I was innocent but the hotel manager didn't even bother to answer my e-mails. Please check your room and document it before leaving. They can accuse you for anything and charge you afterwards without even contacting you .

The journey to the hotel was great! with easy access to and from the train station. Comfortable and clean room, although outside wasn't too great a scenery. Excellent breakfast, and a lovely dinner with friendly and helpful staff. Overall, a lovely time away.

Reading M4-Junction 10 was a typically good Holiday Inn - immaculately clean room, excellent breakfast, and friendly and helpful staff. The room was very quiet, in spite of a huge wedding party being booked in - we were not disturbed at all.
We had a bit of an issue with the bed, finding the mattress exceptionally hard rather than 'firm' and the synthetic pillows - both the hard and soft - were uncomfortable and squeaky... we asked for feather pillows (advertised in the room as a possibility) but what turned up were soft synthetic fill instead.
It would also be nice if two swipe cards were automatically issued when two people are sharing a double room... it's a bit annoying for one person to be left in darkness while the other pops down to the car (the card has be to used both in the lift and on the car-park doors, so going without it is not an option).
Overall, however, it was a very positive experience and one we would be very happy to repeat.

I have stayed at this hotel pretty much every week since it opened as I work nearby and have always been impressed with the very high standards provided by both the hotel and its staff. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and the staff are always friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

I like this hotel only problem is when arriving from the US to England we have never been able to check in. It seems they do not check in anyone before 11:00 a.m. The hotel is very busy and usually sold out the night before so I wonder if some extra staff could be put on early to get rooms available sooner.

Hotel perfect for my office location and transport links into centre of Reading.

We stayed at the hotel for ten nights spanning two weekends and unfortunately there were wedding parties going on into the early hours causing quite a lot of noise! The thumping bass from the music reverberated through the building and prevented us from getting off to sleep.

Stayed here for a weekend away at the Nirvana Spa nearby. Hotel is very comfortable,very clean,easy to find, staff very helpful and efficient and decor modern and clean.
There was a good, well-cooked and more than adequate range of foods for breakfast, although not the spread you get at a 5 star hotel- which this is not. But it is much better than other hotels of this standard. Price is excellent if booked 21days in advance.
Swimming pool, sauna and steam room excellent and very clean.
Hope the hotel keeps this up as it is relatively new now.
Being located in a business park there is nothing nearby but Reading shopping, Showcase Cinema and Dinton Pastures Country park are very near to visit the next day if time allows.
Would definitely recommend to others is staying in the area.

The staff were very welcoming, and seemed to go out of their way to help us. The staff on the reception desk were particularly helpful.
The meals we had in the restruant were very good, as was the service.

My wife and i stayed here the night before a friends wedding.It is a lovely modern well looked after hotel.We were made to feel very welcome and told where everything was we would need.We used the gym,swimming pool,steam room and sauna which were really nice to relax in(not the gym obviously)We met up with friends in the evening and ate in the restaurant, all of us enjoyed what we had.Rooms are very modern and very comfortable.We had a good nights sleep.We had breakfast before we left for the wedding and it was lovely,a big variety of cereals,cooked breakfast plus much more set us up perfectly for the day.We will definately return when we are up to visit friends again.Brilliant.

A new-style Holiday Inn with good amenities but unless you happen to be working in the immediate area and have a car, the location ( a fairly drab and soulless business park) is not that great compared to other similarly priced hotels in the Reading area. There's a train station about 200m walk away but trains run only every 30 minutes at best. The room was clean and modern if a little dark for my liking. Breakfast was disappointing for a vegetarian - I found the selection of breads, cereals, fruits and yoghurts to be quite limited compared with other similar hotels I've stayed in. Recommended only if you really need to be in the Winnersh area or have reliable transport to take you to more inspiring locations.

This hotel is my go-to hotel in the Reading area, always a bit disappointed when it is full.
Excellent staff, excellent location, fantastic Exec rooms.
Only 1 minor gripe was that it was difficult to find a cleared table at breakfast, must have been a rush on just before I arrived, plenty of tables with no people but all waiting to be relaid.
Also as a guest who has recently become Lactose intolerent I was a little disappointed that there wasnt a Soy milk alternative out, and that only butter was available for toast.

Our arrival was greeted by a happy smiling receptionist who made us very welcome and explained all there was at the hotel for us to avail ourselves of.
Our room easy to find and as always, with Holiday Inns, clean and comfortable.
We had supper in the bar and the meal was very good accompanied by some very nice wine.
I hope we will have a reason to visit this hotel again.

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and it is a great facility, good location and well maintained facility with a great health club.
I find though the restaurant poor and bar food no more than average - although the bar staff are excellent.
This is the only Holiday Inn I stay in that doesn't recognise the priority awards status on your room, I never get an upgrade and there is never a bottle of water in the room - despite me being a platinum member, the only acknowledgment I get is a 20p newspaper in the morning!
Because of location and lack of surrounding competion I will uise the hotel again but service details should be addressed.

Although we have top rated everything our stay has been marred by the General Manager not responding to our over charge complaint.
We upgraded our stay to the romantic package to include dinner. Before ordering we asked the manageress if there was anything on the menu extra to our package. In her words you pick and choose off any menu its all included in your package.
At checkout we noticed a surcharge for food on our bill but was assured that if we paid in full the General Manager would look into it and contact us by email.
Sadly although we called reception to remind him, he has not bothered to contact us.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over a 2 week period, and both times the internet was unusable. I reported this the first time, and was told it was due to the hotel being full, yet offered no refund.
the same thing happened the following week, and the same excuse was given. They still refused to give a refund, and offered me a 24 hour access code, but wanted me to pay for the second days usage, even though they admitted it was very slow (we are talking about 0.15mbs download speeds!)
I wrote a letter of complaint, and never received anything back.
Not good for a hotel that advertises 'high speed internet connection' and sits right next to the major IT companies of the world, so they know the majority of users will be needing internet.
On the plus side, it has a very nice pool, and the rooms and nice and new.
I will not be staying here again.
Also be warned, the website says the internet has a initial fee of £3.50, and when you ask the live chat about this, they tell you it's a connection fee per device for the first 24 hours, its not, it's for 1 hour!!

Had a one night stay here for course attending nearby.
Room very clean and modern.
Food very good, had exceptional evening meal in restaurant.
Can throughly recommend having treatments in the Spa.
The lady that did mine was very good and would definitely go to her again, such a pity live so far away as would be regular to hotel just for her alone, very professional and certainly knew her stuff.
Pool was inviting with warm water.
On the whole enjoyable relaxing experience.
Have to attend further courses in future and due to location to venue and hotel experience I had will most certainly book there again, maybe this time stay an extra night!

I have visited this hotel on a number of occasions as it is well placed for business and very close to the M4. The hotel is new and the quality of rooms is very high, good furnishings, very comfortable and very clean.
Food (I've only had the buffet breakfast) is good although standard HI fare.
Staff although fairly efficient don't seem to have any personality and never recognise platinum status or offer upgrades. Checkout is often painfully slow if there is any sort of queue.
Usual gripe over HI hotels continuing to charge for internet access although you can now buy four hours instead of having to pay for 24. HI really need to stop charging for internet particularly for platinum members.
Overall, well worth a visit, always a very comfortable stay.

This appears to be a fairly new hotel and we stayed for 2 nights. I could not fault the accomodation (rooms spacious) or Leisure Facilities. (Great swimming ) Had breakfast on both days, good array of buffet / hot food in a spacious restaurant. Only disappointment was the 2nd days breakfast. We decided to order non buffet food from their menu (Poached eggs and Kippers). My eggs were like rubber and they forgot to order the Kippers. Took 30 mins to get the Kippers and when they came they were so over cooked they were not edible. Staff were apologistic but took the shine off an otherwise good visit. Would like to think the chef was having a bad day but breakfast not up to the usual standard. Would have refused to pay had it not been included in the deal.
Overall its a good holiday inn hotel which had some breakfast issues

This is a new hotel and the rooms are very well appointed. The hotel is convenient for office although there is not a lot of choice around for evening meals. The only disappointment was the ventilation. If you want a cool room it is difficult to achieve even when it is snowing outside!!!

Everything about this hotel is good/very good (gym, staff, food etc) EXCEPT:
a) It is impossible to get the room to a confortable temperature.
Don't ask for a fan, they don't have any - they had to give me one from an office, the second time I stayed somebody had it so my room remained at 23 degrees and very stuffy. I was told by reception that there was nothing they could do until the fan became available!!
b) Check out on a Thursday is disgraceful - soooooo slow.

Room was good. Dinner was good. Breakfast not so. Last time at this hotel breakfast was disappointing. This time it was downright bad. Mid breakfast I discovered something strange in the scrambled egg. Then one of the sausages (having eaten one) had a very pronounced mouldy taste. Complained to waiter. No action. Complained to supervisor. No action. So now, dispite the fact that the hotel is extremely conveniet for my visits I am seriously of a mind to not stay here again.
