Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissatisfied stay Room was OK. Lots of noise that comes through the window even though they were closed and locked, very thin glass, not insulated. Maid woke be me up at 945am the next morning while I was trying to get sleep. As an airline pilot I was working an international 10 hr plus flight later that day. The maid waking me up did not make my day go well rested. ( an "NO" there was no do not disturd sign anywhere in the room). The same next morning after being awoken up earlier than expected I went to the Yankee Cafe restaurant which is attached to the hotel and asked the hostess there how much was the breakfast buffet and she said $10.99. So I went ahead and had the breakfast buffet and when the bill showed up I was charged $12.99 plus tax for a total of approx $14.00 to which I asked why is it that much? The waitress said its "always been that price" so I felt like I was being lied to, which I did not appreciate. So will be telling my co-worker pilot associates not to stay at this hotel due to the experience I recieved there. March 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Temperature of the room. 1. The control turned to only heat for the hotel, I have asthma , need a cool room to sleep or have trouble breathing at night. even with control off room got too warm. I could open a window but the room faced the Interstate which was far too much noise to sleep. 2. Needed to get up early for meeting, put out the Quick breakfast card so I would not have to worry about going down stairs. 7:30 am a round, No breakfast, I opened the door and there was the card still there; No one picked it up the night before, but they did take away my dirty dishes. The card was out on time but just not picked up. I was late to meeting because I had to grab something quick to eat. 33. The staff was all very nice just something did not make my stay a relaxed one that I was hoping for. March 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by All but parking We were able to have our dog with us, we had a nice place to rest while doing some work in the area, the only drawback is the large number of cars that are parked there, the hotel has some sort of off site parking business for the airport, so the parking is full of cars, this is fine, but they need to leave more room for the guest. Most of these cars are right up near the doors, one of them had been there long enough the tires were low. That is what brought them down a star in my Over all experience. We were in and out during the day and noticed that most of the cars never moved. March 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay We stayed here on our way to Japan. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Will definately stay again. Thanks for the memorable experience. March 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Location Had a great experience with the front desk staff. Over the top friendly and very helpful. The food served has been very good. Definitely worth having a bite there. The breakfast buffet is good, but pretty average. Overall this location is a good value for the money. I travel to Renton for business and the rate is very reasonable. March 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Staff My company and I have been staying at this property for the past year and the front desk staff is EXCEPTIONAL! They're always willing to go above and beyond expectations and treats me and my colleagues like we are family! We are pleased to call this our home while on the road. Thank you to Shalonda, Amber, Rex, Justin, and Alyssa. March 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place I was very impressed the minute I walked in the door. I was treated like the people knew me and that i was some one special. We joked and laughed. Even for happy hour upstairs the counter personal came up and mingled with the guest. This is a great hotel and when I am in town I know where I will stay. February 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant stay This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. Both stays our overall experience has been good. The first time was better since we were upgraded to what was referred to as a suite on the fifth floor. Really just a more spacious room. The fifth and sixth floors are secured floors which gives my wife a little peace of mind. On our second visit, I asked for the fifth floor. They obliged. Since we are platinum, I was expecting a room similar to the first stay. But, to our surprise it was like a closet when compared to the room we had on the first stay. However, it was clean and adequate for our one night stay. The only negatives I can think of is the freeway noise if you like to sleep with the window open. Also, the heating and air conditioning controls can be a challenge to work. We will definitely stay at this hotel whenever we're in the Seattle area. Oh, the fitness area was better than most Holiday Inns, but still could be improved on. The machines were well used. February 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience This is my GoTo hotel in Seattle. Ever since my first stay here last year for business it has been nothing but stellar. The staff here is great. Everybody is so friendly and are always helpfull when I need something out of the ordinary. I travel for work weekly and it's really nice to stay at a hotel where they remember your name. At most hotels I stay at the staff is different every time I'm there, which makes it kind of inpersonal. I always feel right at home here. Quick snips: Clean, nice gym with some free weights, great pool, awesome food at the Yankee Diner which is connected to the hotel, easy freeway access, easy to use business center and if you need something special for your business needs just ask and they will take care of it, that's a huge plus when you have to travel for work like I do. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars for me. February 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing staff The staff at this property are among the most courteous and helpful I have ever met! January 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Queit, comfortable, and great service. The front desk was very accommodating. Provided a microwave, refrigerator, and took care of any discrepancies immediately. Housekeeping kept the room very neat and clean. Experience was outstanding. Would recommend this location to anyone. Convenient to work and places to dine. January 22, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by My worst experience ever I am a long time rewards member and travel often all over the country. Ive stayed at 3 different Holiday Inns in the past 5 weeks. My stay at this hotel has been the worst experience Ive ever had with Holiday Inn. When I checking in to my room, the sliding mirrored door for the closet fell of its tracks. No big deal I though, I'll put it right back on the tracks. Any time I went to open the closet, it would ALWAYS fall off the tracks. The vanity mirror in the bathroom was missing a screw to hold it on to the wall, and a screw to hold the mirror on to the frame. So 3 of the 4 screws were missing. The shower mat had some kind of terrible stain. There was a lot of visible rust on a pipe in the bathroom. THe heat was very inconsistent. I had to set it 10 degrees higher then what I wanted the temp to be set at. After staying in that room for one night, I notified the staff of the problems and they put my in a different room. Great I though, but that was not the case. While the conditions of the second room were a little better, the wireless internet in that room was very spotty, constantly disconnecting. Very frustrating when Im there for business and trying to use it to do work. Also, the tv reception would constantly go in and out every 30 or 40 second literally. So it was pointless to try and watch tv. It wasnt just my room, because the evening I checked in and went down stairs to grab a drinks and a bite to eat in the restaurant in the hotel, all the TV in the bar/restaurant were completely out. My third and final night I was welcomed to some kind of constant banging outsite my room which sound like some kind f construction. But I didnt see any construction going on outside, and night at 10pm at night either. I was tempted to check out a day early and go stay at another hotel, but I decided to just deal with it for one last night. The ridiculous thing is 2 days later I have checked in the a Holiday Inn Express in Pa which is a cheaper rate then this hotel and the room is much better both in appearance and quality. Complete day and night difference between the two hotels. While I am a Rewards Member and will continue to use Holiday Inn hotels for my travel plans, next time I am in the Seattle area again, I will choose a different hotel next time. I highly suggest management or someone do some kind of walk through or review of this hotel to improve the quality of the rooms and services. January 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent place to stay. Fitness room needs some work. Great staff. The staff at this Holiday Inn are excellent. They are always most helpful and friendly. It's nice to see the same people working when I stay there for business. Tells me they enjoy their job and work environment. I definitely recommend this location just for the staff, especially the front desk staff. The WiFi can be a bit spotty depending on your room. It's adequate but can be slow at times. The Fitness room needs some help. Over the past 3 months I've stayed here several times and one of the treadmills has always been broken. I let a maintenance person know, but nothing has been done. This is a bit frustrating since it limits access on those rainy Renton nights. The rooms are fine in general. The main rooms, those in the building where the front desk is located, are nice enough (remember this isn't a 5-star hotel#. The rooms in what I would call the annex are musty smelling. I definitely prefer the main building on the 5th/6th floor. The restaurant #The Yankee Grill) and the bar service have been excellent. The food served has been very good. Definitely worth having a bite there. The breakfast buffet is good, but pretty average. Overall this location is a good value for the money. I travel to Renton for business and the corporate rate is very reasonable. Thank you to the staff for bringing me back to this location. January 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome people! Had a great experience with the front desk staff. Over the top friendly and very helpful. Was a pleasure to see them every day! January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel I used to stay here a lot, but had a bad experience with one of the employees. I decided to try them again and they did everything possible to make my stay great! I will be back! January 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hospitality Was very pleased with the customer service. The girls that work the 7th floor hospitality room are extremely friendly and courteous. They do a wonderful job! Thank you. January 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, comfortable, clean, outstanding service Rooms and corridors were quiet. Overall the hotel is clean and open. The breakfast and front service is outstanding. Staff is most helpful and knowledgable what asked for information. December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing and very friendly staff. There are many accommodations in Seattle and it's hard to find one that you can rely on and trust. Holiday Inn-Renton met all our expectations and more. From car parking and shuttle to and from the airport went so smoothly. The restaurant on site had excellent food and friendly waitresses and yes the cook came out and said hi also. There was a issue that we discussed with the front desk and the Manager had it solved within minutes and it was done very professionally to our satisfaction. We will be back for sure! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place to Stay Throughout my stay at the Holiday Inn Renton, I was impressed with the friendly atmosphere and comfortable acomadations. The Staff; Amber, Shalonda, Marissa and others made sure all was perfect. They really care and it shows. I am sure you will enjoy your stay at this Hotel. December 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT staff and restaurant Holiday Inn at Renton is the place I always stay at while doing business in the Seattle area.Their excellent staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The in house restaurant Yankee Grill is a plus as well, Great place to eat. I always look forward to my stays at the Holiday Inn at Renton. December 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Winter Visit I am a fan and I like this Hotel, so come on stay here. Between Shalonda, Marissa and Amber you will be welcomed with open arms. They like to take care of you and go above and beyond to make sure that you are well taken care of and comfortable. With the exceptional staff, great amenities and an ideal location in the greater Seattle area, this hotel is the place to stay. This hotel is close to the SeaTac airport in Seattle and makes them a perfect choice for corporate travelers who want to have a nice sleep before taking on business in a sleepy city. Stay happy, safe and comfortable, what more could you ask for? December 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old HI in need of updating The rooms are horribly old and outdated. They need updating badly! Bathroom was dirty when I checked in and still had coffee stains on the counter top. Checked Bed for Bugs, didnt see any but felt like that kind of place. Restraunt has extremely slow service and the food was average. What do you expect for an HI I guess. December 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value and parking We parked our car for 2 weeks and stayed in a room when we arrived home. They provide a shuttle to and from the airport and it takes about 15 minutes. It is not on demand but runs about every 30 min. or so. Price was very good! The gentleman who checked us in was very accomodating. We didn't like the first 2 rooms, one had a small bed and one someone had smoked in. We ended up getting a nice upgrade. I really despise the toilets in this hotel!! They are industrial type like you would find in a gas station or the like. November 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Guest services staff very helpful I really enjoyed my stay. The front end staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Erin in particular was able to recommend restaurants and malls in the area. I was in town to watch a Patriots Seahawks game she was nice enough to mention shuttle to the airport to catch the train to the game as well as shuttle to the Mall. Good job Erin !! November 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Accommodation and Outsanding Service I was treated like royalty even though I came in way too early for the check-in time. I've always been a regular patron of this hotel and nothing's been changing except consistency in setting the bar higher in SERVICE and ACCOMMODATION. These were exemplified by both Cher and Shalonda ...hope I got both their names right. Kudos to your team!!! November 20, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Temperature control = good night's sleep I feel like Goldilocks when I stay at this hotel. The first time my room was too hot (85 degrees). The second time too cold (70 degrees). Apparently, even though there is a thermostat in the room the temperature is controlled by the front desk...wish I would have know that on my first visit. I thought I had reset the temp but it just stayed where it was set all night long. I got smarter on my second visit and complained to the front desk about the room temp. That's when I found out that they, not the guest, controlled the heat in the room. It took two hours and two phone calls before they actually got the boiler working properly and then it cycled off and on all night long in 15 minute intervals. I've already slept in papa and mama bear's rooms, so I hope I will get baby bear's room on my next (possibly last) visit and it will be just right. November 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding staff and service The hotel was easy to find, and close to the airport. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Will definitely stay at this hotel again..... November 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value It wasn't expensive and had everything I needed. The staff were helpful. Great value. November 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Renton is OUTSTANDING! The Front Desk Staff and Front Office Manager are AMAZING SUPERSTARS!!! My favorite staff members are Amber, Cher and Justin at the Front Desk. This is my favorite destination spot in the greater Seattle area. Amazing location, great restaurant (Yankee Grill), and great rooms. I highly suggest staying here over all hotels in Washington state, for the memorable experience that will leave you wanting more. They are very attentive to my needs as a Platinum Elite member. November 2, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Brrrrr COLD ROOM! This is an average HI property. What makes it below average is the inability of the occupant of the room to control the temperature of the room. The management of the Hotel control the HVAC temperature to the rooms to save energy. I'm staying at this hotel when outside temps are below 50*F and the room temp is in the low 60's, but there is no heat and a consistency running fan blowing cold air. Maybe I'm lucky it was cold, as a notice in the room suggests when it gets hot to open a window. This is not up to minimum Holiday Inn standards and I do not understand how HI allows this franchisee to use the HI brand logo on the property with sub-standard third world room conditions.
