I have been using this facility for some forty years. I have been to a number of class reunions here. Building is shoddy. Exterior is chipping and fading. Desk service was very good. The restaurant has slipped very much. Service was poor and the food was only fair. It used to be an excellent restaurant . The room was only fair , kind of dark. The shower was excellent, very nice and comfortable.

Thanks for inviting me to write a review. I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and of good quality. WiFi reception was excellent. Price was very competitive with other Seattle-area hotels and was a differentiator in choosing this hotel.
I misplaced a valuable item in my room after departure. I called the hotel the day after my departure and learned that housekeeping had found my item, and was willing to hold it until I could come back to claim it. Thanks!

We had stayed for 4 nights in July and had no complaints. So, when we were needing a room again 1 month later we booked here again. I will continue to stay here again and again. Friendly staff, clean rooms no complaints here.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tim509 A little 405 traffic noise
This is a nice property. The staff was very nice at check in. Just an overnight stay, so didn't have a chance to use the pool or hot tub, but they both looked clean as I walked by and were being used by other guests. I had a mix up in my reservation, they put me in a 1 king room, when I requested a 2 queen. I had looked at my email confirmation when this became apparent. I called the property, and they quickly and effiecently corrected things. There was quite a bit of noise from 405 when I first went to bed, mostly background, and a few loud motorcycles. The noise went away soon, and I had a very restful evening.

I have stayed here frequently. It is a bit old but nice. The beds are good but not great like some hotels have. The staff is extremely well trained and super helpful. For the quality of the hotel it is maybe a little overpriced.

The hotel was noisy and tired. Major renovations are needed at this property. Getting into and out of the hotel was difficult as well. Would not recommend this location for the price.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BCB57 Disappointing
We've stayed here before and all went well but this time we were really disappointed. They "upgraded" us to the executive floor. Since we were staying over a Saturday night and there are no executive floor services on Saturday and the elevator requires you to insert your key to access the floor it was really more a pain in the neck than an upgrade. In fact there was a tray of what appeared to be cake or cookie crumbs in the executive lounge when we arrived Saturday afternoon and it was still there when we left Sunday late morning. My real issue with the stay was the room itself. The window looked right out over the entrance and the traffic noise all night long from I-5 and Grady Way made it nearly impossible to get a good nights sleep. If I stayed here again I would insist on a room to the far left (if facing the hotel). That's where we have stayed before and those were fine. One last point. On my reservation I had requested a couple of extra pillows. They weren't in the room so we called three times to request them and noone ever delivered them. We finally gave up trying.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by joh520 Air conditioner worked, but comfort ended there.
Our first impression of the room was the smell of cigarette smoke, not strong, but very noticeable. My wife called the desk and the operator briefly argued with her about our room number. The operator assured us that it was a no-smoking room and suggested that we open the window. While this was refreshing, it did not get rid of the odor.
The other problems all stemmed from the condition of the bathroom. One of the lights was out. The sink was partially plugged with hair wrapped around the stopper rod.
The towels were nicely laundered, but smelled of stale smoke/detergent. Not April fresh.
The real kicker was the toilet. It would not flush properly. It took 2 to 3 tries to completely flush.

Room seemed clean and adequate. It felt like an older facility. The room wasn't very sound proof so we heard a lot of noise from other guests--above, next door, in the hall outside the room.
The price wasn't great--but we were limited on possibilities since we were looking for a last-minute accommodation in August.

I was in town for work, and I was trying to save a little money so I stayed outside of Seattle.
The property was spacious and the restaurant attached was very nice. The food was good, and the people were nice.
The main area and computer areas were extremely well kept and comfortable.
The pool and jacuzzi looked mighty enticing although I didn't have the opportunity to use them.
The workout room had 2 treadmills and a bike, plus a room with dumbbells, heavy balls, and a few benches.
The 12-mile drive to Seattle took more than an hour during busy times (and every time seemed busy).
Priority Rewards members didn't receive any of the normal perks, e.g. water, newspaper, ect.
The coffee was downstairs in the front room. The only reason I found out was I was heading to breakfast.
Overall the experience in the hotel was very good.

Excellent service. Chose them due to their tie in with a fishing trip and their association with NW Seaplane. Upon returning from fishing they stored the fish in their walk in freezer.
Their dining room and bar was exceptional in both food and service.

Good location and good restaurant. It was nice having free weights in the fitness center and the pool/spa was good. Only negative was housekeeping, in that it seemed like they kept replacing less towels everyday and didn't replace the coffee and cups on a daily basis. Would have to track a housekeeper down daily to get a few more towels or coffee for the next day.

This building is overdue for renovation. Peeling paint; crumbling stucco; loud and aging elevators; outside trash management. This is not what i expect from the Holiday Inn brand. REcommend you renovate or sell to lesser brand.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by OK725 Just ok!
My family was picked up promptly by the courtesy shuttle from the airport. The lobby area was well kept and clean. I was told that our junior king suite was located on the executive floor. Upon opening the door, I found a maintenance worker fixing the alarm clock and shoes from the past guest still in the closet. The room was VERY dated to my surprise considering this was on the executive floor, I guess it doesn't make it an executive room. The bathroom was so SMALL that I could brush my teeth, open the door, and turn the shower on all with ease while sitting on the toilet. On a positive note the hotel was in walking distance to Applebee's, gas station, drug store, and various other stores. I must say the maintenance/housekeeper did bring us a few bottles of water and extra towels. Also, the 24hr courtesy shuttle was great because we had to check-in at the airport at 2:30am. Our stay was ok, not what I expected from Holiday Inn. I would recommend this hotel based solely on courtesy shuttle service and location.

The staff and service were great. Shuttle everywhere and prompt with a smile. Breakfast was fabulous and the wait staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. One of the best Holiday Inns I've ever stayed in. The only issue was that they need to update their thermostats throughout the hotel.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mwh154 Decent property, but the staff has no sense of accountability
Despite 3 calls to the front desk my first night, a direct conversation with a building engineer the following morning, and 2 later requests with the front desk, they never got my air conditioning working properly. To make matters worse, I never got the follow-up calls that were promised. On 2 occasions, the staff felt fine to go home for the evening without a resolution or passing my complaint onto the next shift. My A/C never got closer than 5 degrees from my setpoint. I can see based on the thermostat that they have tied there HVAC into a building management automation system. Either the building engineers are not competent to fix the control system or the hotel believes that they are going to dictate your temperature regardless of what you want. The A/C functioned, but it would never approach what I set it at. You needed to run the A/C to get the humidity out because, like many hotels, the bathroom exhaust is inadequate.
To their credit, the staff was very friendly and I had a wonderful greeting when I arrived. Unfortunately, that only goes so far if you are useless. The only thing that made this an 'average' value is that my stay was discounted because of my complaints. Even then, I had to argue to get it applied to all three days. In this case, the poor service was more aggravating than the initial problem itself. With no fewer than 4 staff contacted, it seems that this is not an isolated personnel issue, but a plague at this hotel.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AllThoseCats Older hotel needs some attention
The hospitality area in the lobby had water dispensers but they were always empty while my family was in the hotel. The light switch on one of the floor lamps did not work. Did not attempt to have maintenance look into it since family was tired and it was not a major problem. The shower did not drain well. The person taking the second shower almost overflowed the depth of the shower stall. The door lock did not open on the first few swipes of the credit card key, usually took at least 3 or 4 tries, some times more. This is an older hotel that needs some upgrades or renovations.

What an unpleasant surprise. Upon arrival I was told by a very nice young lady that they were "oversold" and could not give me the room I reserved: King and offered me a free breakfast in return. I was surprised because every HI Express I have stayed at in the past has a free breakfast, but apparently this one did not. Not wanting to argue about it,I told her I had my girlfriend with me and asked for two, and she agreed. I was shocked at the area the hotel was in; unsafe looking, and equally shocked at the size of the room; very small. There were also many other things wrong with the room they were: There was no fan in the bathroom, the room door wouldn't close unless I pushed it closed, I came back from being out and found it ajar where anyone could have walked in. The carpet was dirty and the room had a foul smell, like dirty laundry.there were stains on the wall, the utilities in the bathroom were very outdated and the toilet ran. There were inadequate number of outlets in the room, also. I am returning to the area shortly, but will look for a different property.

We were treated very well when greeted by Cindy at the front desk, who accommodated our room location request. Although there was a problem with the toilet flushing (we didn't report it till checkout# and a loud party went on thru the night, which was not the fault of the staff. However, because we were disturbed by the noise, our room points we used for the stay were refunded and 2 breakfast coupons for the delicious buffet were given. We appreciate the effort the staff and Management #Mary) made to help our irritation with the noise.

I was on the committee that chose this hotel for the annual convention. Had we known that the primary hotel restaurant would be "closed for remodeling"--as I am sure the hotel management knew well ahead--we would have chosen a different hotel.
My own room was very noisy due to outside traffic, I found the food in the "restaurant" mediocre at best. The staff tried to do the best they could with what they had to work with, I do not fault them. I do fault management and corporate.
I have stayed many times in Holiday Inns. This was my worst experience.

The hotels badly managed. Was given a key to a room that was already occupied. This was not a good thing and badly frightened the Iady in the room. When we complained we were told that aroomwithbtwo beds was unavailable. I had two grandsons traveling with me. We were finally given a room with one double bed and a small pull out bed.
When we checked out the next morning we stood at the front counter for at least five minutes while the clerk talked on the phone without looking up or acknowledging using any way. We finallybgaveup and walked away.
My friends had no air conditioning in there room and when no other room was available the were given tiny fan.
Would never stay here again the pace was obviously mismanaged.

I am always greeted cordial and with the greatest respect even though I am a flight attendant on a reduced rate. Sometimes a refrigerator and microwave is not available but as soon as they do become available, they deliver them ASAP. I love the location because I can go across the parking lot and get groceries or items from the pharmacy. There is a bus stop that I can use to go downtown if need be or the van takes me to the airport and i can catch the train. All in all, I feel this hotel has been a home away from home when I am in Seattle

Spent a night in Renton on our way back to Ohio from Vancouver...used my Priority Club points to book a room and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they upgraded our room to a suite on the 6th floor! Even though it was just an overnight stay, it was a wonderful experience, and the service was of the same excellent quality that I have come to expect of the Holiday Inn brand...will definitely return to this hotel the next time I visit relatives in Seattle!

I called the front desk and asked for a 1/2 hour late check out because i would be in a conference until 12pm and had to go back at 1pm until 6pm. I wanted to come back to the room to clean up and I was told it would cost $30. I wish the front desk could have been more accommodating.
Free breakfast was great!!
