Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Just not what I expect from Holiday Inn
The hotel isn't terrible, but I guess I've been spoiled by HI-Express Hotels, which are where I usually stay. You would expect a "full" Holiday Inn to be better, but in my experience, HI-Express Hotels are miles better.
First of all, they never, every, even after being asked about it, recognized my Ambassador Club level. I was told, "normally upon check-in, we give our Ambassador Club members bottled water, nut we don't have any. There is a vending machine around the corner if you need some". What?
Then I had issues with the shower not draining AT ALL. If the housekeeper had truly cleaned the shower (which it was obvious it hadn't been) earlier in the day, they would have noticed the tub was clogged. Right?
Then, there were two days out of the stay where, even though I had clearly put the USED coffee styrofoam coffee cups near the trash can (some still had coffee in them, so didn't want to put them in the can), they were left sitting where they were placed and the magazines and newspapers that had been put in the trash bin to be discarded had been removed and placed on the floor next to the bin.
The "club level" was only open for two hours. Ok, that's fine. But when it was, it was PACKED. There was no place to sit and only one person to handle everything. He was extremely nice and did the best he could, but it was clear he needed help.
Lastly... the wi-fi kept requiring every few minutes that you re-login. That became a real pain.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Andrew10 Great Hotel! Great People!
I stayed at this hotel for business. Location is great and it's only 8-10 minutes from the airport. They have a good 'comfort food' type restaurant and had a Chef in the lobby passing out samples when I arrived. Good rooms..a bit dated but nice. Good pool. Very friendly and just a nice hotel to base your Seattle activities from.

we stayed at this property at the end of an Alaskan cruise. The airport shuttle was very convenient and on time. The room was comfortable and the 3:30 am wake up call was right on time.
There was a resturant on site plus other resturants within walking distance. The property was clean and well maintained.
Due our arrival time and EARLY departure, we did not use any of the other ammenties.
The only drawback was that the only Priority Club recognition that we received was " you are using Rewards Night" which we were. We have received a small goodie bag upon arrival at other Holiday Ins in the past.

Have a good experience to stay at this hotel with just one night. The customer service is good, and it just takes 30mins driver to Seattle downtown, it's a good choice for Seattle travel if you don't want to pay too much money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by macwilly Great place to stay
HIE Renton is conviently located close to SEATAC and I405/5 a major shopping center and has an excellent park and fly program.
It's an older facility but fairly well maintained. Prior to flying out we stayed in the newer section - the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom clean and well proportioned and the room was very clean.
On our return we were in the older section and while clean and comfortable it did have a noticeable musty odor (not anything that really bothered us) and the bathroom was small and obviously had been around for awhile.
Very helpful, friendly staff.
I'd certainly stay here again but would probably ask for a room in the newer section.
Comparative to other facilities in the area it's a good bargain.

I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the staff at this hotel. Both the front desk staff and reception were friendly and welcoming. The staff in the hospitality suite was also great. It was nice to see so much attention to detail and job knowledge at a hotel with such a reasonable price. I will definitely be coming back.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by bdone001 Seattle Renton Stay
Overall, my stay here was OK. I stayed here while visiting Seattle. It was the closest hotel where I could use reward points for two nights and pay for a third night. Free breakfast at the attached restaurant was OK. We went the first two days but not the third. The menu was the same both days we went so wanted to try something different for the third morning. On the second day (Saturday), the restaurant was much busier and the buffet was out of food until restocked about 5 minutes after we were seated. Biggest drawback was the lounge area on the 6th floor. It was quiet the first two nights but on the third night there was a big group partying in the lounge area until almost 2am. Tried calling the front desk but no one answered. I would stay here again but if we had similar problems with a loud group in the lounge partying late into the night, I would not stay again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by M1952 Great, but no fridge
There was no refrigerator in the room - it was apparently an extra that had to be paid for. Never have I found this in any previous Holiday Inn in the USA, Canada or Europe that I have stayed in.

First let me say, the staff are TOP SHELF PEOPLE! The rooms are in real need of updating. The lobby looks great, but beyond the lobby, the appeal drops very quickly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Linda250 spacious room and comfortable bed
I chose this Holiday Inn because it offered unlimited free complimentary parking and a free airport shuttle. I was also pleased that it had an on-site restaurant and free wi-fi.
My room was clean and spacious; the bed was great and I loved the walk-in shower.
Will definitely stay here again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by shinyg Great location for car shopping
This hotel is right in the middle of all the car dealerships. It's a great place to stay if you're comparison shopping. Even though it's right next to the freeway, I couldn't hear traffic noise in my room.
Unfortunately, this hotel is dirty. My room was dirty when I checked in- the surfaces were dirty and the bathroom had hair on the floor, counter, and toilet. I requested it be cleaned and it was still dirty. I had to ask the manager to come to my room so I could point out what needed to be cleaned. The staff was very service-oriented and offered to move me- but I didn't want to move to another room, I just wanted mine to be clean. I noticed other parts of the hotel were dirty too- carpets, windows, etc. It has a sort-of upscale feel, but upon closer inspection it's a bit worn and in need of some attention. My stay there was fine and I appreciated the staff's concern for my satisfaction, but one shouldn't have to specifically request that other people's hair be cleaned off of the floor.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by gtowntraveler Don't let the updated lobby fool you!
When you walk into the Renton Holiday Inn you get the feeling that the hotel is up-to-date and well maintained...and then you get into the rooms and find out differently.
In my room the AC did not work, there were frequent television reception and reset issues, and the bathroom was an absolute mess!!! The wall paper is peeling, there was some residue on the bathroom floor and the housekeepers routinely put used complimentary toiletries back where the new bottles were. Between the very poor maintenance of the bathroom and the AC not working, they made my stay absolutely disappointing!!!
The area is safe...the traffic in the area is horrific....and the accommodations were marginal at the very best! I suggest a different hotel.

The Renton WA Holiday Inn provides exceptional service that makes being away from home a lot less stressful.
The front desk learns their customers names and is always friendly and courteous. Their pleasant greetings and helpful suggestions allow me to get the most out my stays there.
If there is ever a needed item or repair for my room it is quickly taken care of. Housekeeping is always spot on...
These reasons and more are why I choose this property over all of the competitors properties even of I could save a few dollars in doing so...
Thank you to the front desk staff for always making me feel as though I am a valued guest.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jarred VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR THE 3RD TIME
This was unfortunately my third time staying at this sub-par property, only because all of the other IHG properties in proximity were sold out again! Each stay has been identical in the area's which were unacceptable, and frankly out-of-character for IHG! I was never recognized as a Platinum Elite member at check-in or check-out, no mention of any upgrade occurred ! Rather, I was relegated to an undesirable standard room in a noisy location next to the elevator, and vending area (which, by the way contained machines which were out of order!)! It is interesting that I have never been upgraded nor recognized at this property--something that I have not ever experienced at any other IHG property! The only positive thing I can offer was that I was allowed late check-out just for the asking! Obviously, I will stay elsewhere when next in the area!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WearyBusinessTraveler42 Not Good For Priority Club Members
I usually do not write reviews, and I complain even less. But one thing I expect being a Platinum Priority Club member is receiving a room upgrade, when one is available. It is well understood that occasionally upgrades are not available due to booking issues and so forth. However, on this occasion I was able to find availability of upgradeable rooms available for sale on the IHG website. Thus, an upgrade was available. Trust me, I'm not "better than the next guy" and think I deserve something more than someone else. However, I spend a virtual fortune on hotels for business travel and one of the perks for being a platinum member is getting the free upgrade. It's why I'm in the program. I did mention this to the hotel management, and they wanted to "make things right". My issue was a flyer they provided guests stating how they strive to make things right before people complain, "but if you do have a complaint, tell us and we'll fix it". How about this: do it right in the first place. If you are supposed to upgrade a guest, do it. Oh, by the way, the HVAC is horrible #apparently it's getting replaced?#, and the attached restaurant is marginal at best. Walk a few hundred yards down the street if you want decent food. Just FYI...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JeanneCo Perfect for Early Morning Flights
Instead of driving from home at 2 a.m. for a 6:15 a.m. flight, we stayed at the Holiday Inn, Renton. What a great idea! We were comfortable, treated well, and had no problem getting transported to the airport in time for our early flight. To make matters better yet, we were able to leave our car at the hotel for our entire time away (2+ weeks) for NO EXTRA CHARGE! It just doesn't get any better than this!

This hotel is a great place to leave your car while you are away. There is a free shuttle to the airport and back and staff are friendly and obliging. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is fabulous with the blueberries, strawberries and granola. The last morning, I think there was staff shortage or I hit the breakfast to lunch changeover as the service wasn't as attentive as usual. However, I got a coffee to go which was a nice touch.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Arcticorca8 Service great! Room not so great.
Staff and service at this hotel very good. Restaurant staff very good. Room was old and not well thought out. I am sure they will update but the room I had was terrible. Severe lack of electrical outlets that were accessible. Especially by the bed. Under the desk was a power strip with a huge mess of cords. I scooted the bed mattress to access the plug behind bed which was a hole in the wall and just a nasty mess of dirt and dust on box spring. Clearly had not been cleaned in a long, long time. The sheets looked old and dingy. As a priority club platinum member I spend a lot of time in Holiday Inn Properties. This was well below the average. But the staff made up the difference.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jeff042 No air circulation in the winter
This property has a heating system from the stone ages. It's either air conditioned or heated but not both. If it's too hot and stuffy and it's a heating time of year then opening the window is the only way to get fresh air. Unfortunately you also get all the outside noise. It's also an older hotel so rooms are small for comparable cost. I wouldn't stay here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AvidTraviler Standard Hotel
This holiday inn express is standard - while updated in some areas it still shows its age in others. Older wall paper walls and heating/cooling in the rooms. The location has a lot of construction going on at the intersection to arrive and exit and it is difficult in the late afternoon to get in or out of this location. This seems like a larger construction project so I would expect it to last till late May. The construction work is also 24/7 and was very loud a few times during the night.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Airlinepilot767 Dissatisfied stay
Room was OK. Lots of noise that comes through the window even though they were closed and locked, very thin glass, not insulated.
Maid woke be me up at 945am the next morning while I was trying to get sleep. As an airline pilot I was working an international 10 hr plus flight later that day. The maid waking me up did not make my day go well rested. ( an "NO" there was no do not disturd sign anywhere in the room). The same next morning after being awoken up earlier than expected I went to the Yankee Cafe restaurant which is attached to the hotel and asked the hostess there how much was the breakfast buffet and she said $10.99. So I went ahead and had the breakfast buffet and when the bill showed up I was charged $12.99 plus tax for a total of approx $14.00 to which I asked why is it that much? The waitress said its "always been that price" so I felt like I was being lied to, which I did not appreciate. So will be telling my co-worker pilot associates not to stay at this hotel due to the experience I recieved there.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ducklady36 Temperature of the room.
1. The control turned to only heat for the hotel, I have asthma , need a cool room to sleep or have trouble breathing at night. even with control off room got too warm. I could open a window but the room faced the Interstate which was far too much noise to sleep.
2. Needed to get up early for meeting, put out the Quick breakfast card so I would not have to worry about going down stairs. 7:30 am a round, No breakfast, I opened the door and there was the card still there; No one picked it up the night before, but they did take away my dirty dishes. The card was out on time but just not picked up.
I was late to meeting because I had to grab something quick to eat.
33. The staff was all very nice just something did not make my stay a relaxed one that I was hoping for.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Garrobo51 All but parking
We were able to have our dog with us, we had a nice place to rest while doing some work in the area, the only drawback is the large number of cars that are parked there, the hotel has some sort of off site parking business for the airport, so the parking is full of cars, this is fine, but they need to leave more room for the guest. Most of these cars are right up near the doors, one of them had been there long enough the tires were low.
That is what brought them down a star in my Over all experience. We were in and out during the day and noticed that most of the cars never moved.
