The lobby was inviting, I was surprised it was a Holiday Inn...then we got to our room...the walk from the elevator to the room almost made me pass out - there was NO air in the hall...just HOT! Once in the room, I noticed that the floors were damp, so I put towels down so we wouldn't be in contact with whatever it was. Next day we needed clean wash clothes and I was told that there were none to be found...nothing, just towels... June 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Classy hotel with excellent staff support The Dallas-Richardson Holiday Inn looks like your average hotel on the website, but upon your arrival, you are immediately greeted by its beautiful surroundings and iconic metal statues in the front and in the pool area. They are cleverly set, complimenting their surroundings. The lobby and main level are a elegantly and tastefully decorated, combining neutral colors and materials of wood and stone, and leather furniture. The hotel offers two smaller pools, one indoors and one outdoors, and are nice for kids to play in or for couples to relax in. There is a beautiful gazebo area outside in the shade, while the indoor pool has an interesting statue fountain that is accentuates the area. The front desk staff was highly professional, friendly, and answered all of our questions. They also assisted another couple when they needed help with printing out their airplane tickets. Our one-night stay was very nice - I will now look for other Holiday Inns based on this experience. June 19, 2014

Jenny was very helpful and printed the directions and recommended the shopping mall north park and also told us the places for dinner around that area. I guess I prefer The Holiday Inn Express. I would recommend this property to someone depending on what there needs were. But for me I would look for an Express. April 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No more free breakfast, awful coffee and less than average room I have stayed at this hotel before when previously traveling with Business associates and received free drink and breakfast coupons but these have been done away with. In addition their Executive Suites are no more than an ordinary room. For the same Govt rate you can stay in a true Suite from two other brand hotels. These are complete with kitchenette and separate bedrooms. In addition both offer a happy hour which provides free drinks and snack most nights of the week and sometimes a very nice meal. Another think go did not like was that the sink I the room was built for someone well over 6 foot tall and could not be used without getting water over everything. I did eat there for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were not cooked. On the positive side the staff is friendly. If on business travel, especially at the govt rate I would recommend staying elsewhere. Hope this helps. April 26, 2014

I travel a LOT and always try to stay at an IHG property but I've never seen one so poorly maintained. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cheer Competition We stayed here for our daughters cheer competition in Dallas. Rooms were smaller than other Holiday Inns we have stayed in. The room keys stopped working and had to be changed out 7 times! That was very annoying when you have wet, cold kids wanting in the room and have to go get the keys changed out everytime! Staff was friendly, our room did not get cleaned our last 2 days there...we did not leave the sign on the door or anything so I'm not sure why. March 27, 2014

We stayed at this location for 2 days and it was great! The rooms were in great condition their dos mentioned they were renovating can't wait to see what they are changing! The lobby was beautiful, pool was awesome we had a great swim, excersise room was the best I've ever seen.... But most of the service was AMAZING!!!! Ashley the front desk clerk and Charles their director of sales were unbelievable! Thank you two for your wonderful hospitality you two definately made our weekend! God bless you guys! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendliest staff and above and beyond service Ever! I have travelled extensively throughout my lifetime and I have never experienced a more friendlier or more helpful staff. The shuttle service is above and beyond any "out of Towners" expectations. I witnessed first hand the compassion and warmth of Frank, Maggie, Frankie, Renaldo and Sandra for myself and other guests and how we were treated and cared for. It is truly a home away from home. The value is more than I ever expected and I am blown away by my time spent in this hotel. I look forward to returning to the Holiday Inn in Richardson, TX for my next visit to this city. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quick stay, very accommodating staff There were several of us staying at this particular hotel and we arrived very early - thanks to a last minute schedule change. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating to us - and got us in our rooms early so we could get settled before we headed out for our long day of business. Room was comfortable. It was a little difficult to find open outlets to charge my cell phone. I use the alarm clock on my phone to wake me so I like to keep it near the bed. I had breakfast and the buffet was well appointed - thought it was much better than some other properties that I stayed at - including fresh cooked omlets. Overall, would recommend this location. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nice property but poorly managed for a few dollars more I should have stayed at a much better hotel in the area;. Marriott , Haitt or Double tree. Property is nice but very poorly managed. Before arriving I checked by phone to make sure there was a luggage cart for our car full of items that needed to be taken to our room. I was assured that there were plenty of luggage carts When we arrived there were no luggage carts available when we checked in. (they had only 2 carts) The young man at front desk was rude and unconcerned during check in...no one made any effort to find a luggage cart for us. We finally carried our luggage in taking several trips. Parking lot was full and parking was only available in the back of the hotel with no access to the hotel with out walking back around to the front entrance. This hotel is over priced for the level of service provided and very poorly managed. February 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reward Points and Stays I have been staying at this hotel for many years and have been very happy with my experience but I just found out yesterday (2/12/14) that since Jan 2013, this location has been assigning my points and stays to another guest. 32 days!!!! This has resulted in my losing platinum status and I had to spend time giving every confirmation number for the last year to recover my points. I have now learned to always check my stays and points on the rewards web site. BUT I shouldn't have to bird dog their system!! February 13, 2014

We have utilized this property over the last few years, primarily because of it's pet policy....and yet we are ALWAYS blown away by the 'extra special attention' that ASHLEY at the front desk provides. Now, we realize it is not because WE are special, but because SHE takes that interest and care with ALL her guests. When we arrived found out the hotel did not offer those type room. staying with 2 teenager this is not what we wanted. The room was VERY small and did not work well for us. Also the indoor pool was cold. Ask staff if could make warmer was told "no". Stay at alot Holiday Inn property this one is BAD! January 1, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs updating and new beds This is a lovely hotel on the first floor. Rooms are just average and need updating. The whole bathroom design is terrible. The sink is outside the bath and it is so high that I nearly need a stool to brush my teeth. The tub was unsightly and there was water damage on the door frame. I had to open the door and stand in the hall to get connected to the Internet. The bed was the worst....hard like sleeping on concrete. I would not recommend it mainly due to the bed and poor pillows. The staff was very pleasant. December 29, 2013

Danny is a terrific manager and Betsy is always kind and joyful first thing in the morning. All of the other staff was knowledgeable and kind. They helped us with all of our paperwork in billing, even with 10 or more of our staff moving in and out of the hotel. The location is great, especially if you are in town for business at any of the telecom or data hosting facilities, its close to all of them. Great restaurants and shopping are all available within a few minute drive. I will always stay here when I am in Richardson. December 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for the money! My mother and I stayed in this hotel for four nights. It was very quiet due to the thicker walls of an older hotel. I enjoyed the workout room and sauna; had it all to myself for the entire time! A few things are worth noting. Our room had the sink outside of the shower/toilet room. This made morning preparations difficult when the other person was trying to sleep. I didn't find any extra blankets in the room - could have called Housekeeping, I'm sure - but I was so tired by the time I came in that I didn't bother. Only gave a free shampoo; would have been nice to have conditioner. (Once again, I'm confident Housekeeping would have assisted in this!) The on sight restaurant was no more expensive than surrounding restaurants; a bit on the greasy side, but OK. The one thing that was taxing to me was the continuously piped in music throughout the hotel. It was everywhere! To find a quiet place to read a book I had to - you guessed it - retire to the sauna. There was no office space to speak of. That being said, the staff was hardworking, attentive and most pleasant. November 28, 2013

Other times a complete restart of the internet was required before the redirect would properly log me in. Breakfast selection was small. The office chair was lopsided. I found myself working on the bed instead of the desk. The walls are pretty thin and doors are heavy. The evening was usually full of door opening and slamming by their own weight. I had breakfast during the week and it was best thing you could eat. The weekend Breakfast is Bad. The fruit was hard and the Pancakes was too. The weekend Chef needs to eat his own food and see if he likes it. I will recommend the hotel to others. I will tell them beware of the breakfast on weekends. November 20, 2013

Housekeeping never services my room even thou I requested with morning & evening staff. Had to move rooms at night before midnight. I had to move my own stuff w/injured knee from surgery. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs desperate updating...... My business partner [Platinum status] & I [gold elite] booked 4 nights at this hotel. We received the standard upgrade to executive rooms. I have to say these were the worst room we have ever stayed in. It was as if the rooms had not been updated since the 1970/80"s [honestly]. The look of these rooms gave the impression they were unclean. We contact IHG and asked to be moved to another hotel. This was done and we had reservations made at the Candlewood Suits. In no way shape or for does this hotel match up to any othe Holiday Inn we have stayed in previously. We will be putting in a formal complaint as this cost us time [having to cancel appointments] and also under no circumstances were we going to invite customer to this hotel for meetings etc. November 16, 2013
