The room was a typical design and clean, and everything in the room worked. But the hotel failed at the little things:
1 - Only one soap in the room, so you had to move it from shower to sink and back.
2 - TVs didn't work in the fitness center.
3 - I ordered room service breakfast (toast and fruit), and the toast came with no butter or jelly. Who eats dry toast?
4 - In the conference room for breakfast they put out yogurt but no spoons, and muffins but no napkins or plates. Had to find someone to ask for both.

We were in the area on business, so the location was good for us. The front desk staff was very helpful and polite. The room was comfortable and everything so clean, except the carpet! There was a big stain and several small ones. Overall this is a nice motel and with a good carpet cleaning it would rate excellent with me.

We were in Richmond to attend a party held at this hotel. We were assigned a room all the way on the other end of the hotel. It was a hike for me with bad knees, but since it was only 1 night, why bother asking for another room. The room was clean, nothing horrible. It was a little narrow. It was odd the faucets in the bathroom were mixed. The hot water was on the right side and the cold on the left. The rubber stopper was missing on the bathroom door, so it was noisy when you opened the door.
The food provided by the hotel at the party was disappointing. Fish and chicken were dry. The staff at the party were attentive and professional. For the moderate price charged, I would say it was an ok place to stay. I would not stay longer then one night though.

I stayed here during a 3 night visit that included running the Richmond Marathon. The bed was absolutely comfortable and what a weary runner was needing after that race. The bathroom has plenty of counter space and a large shower.
My sleep quality was marked average because I could hear every door slam late at night and early in the mornings. One night, a person knocked and knocked and knocked on a door down the hall and I could hear it. By the time I got to the guts to open my door and say something, it had stopped at least.
The location of this hotel was good. It was not in the heart of downtown but was generally 15 minutes from where we needed to be throughout my visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Richmond.

Overall, Holiday Inn was a good choice for our family to stay. However, as a platinum member I would recommend more flexibility with breakfast coupon/voucher options. Being able to only use the coupons for best for breakfast was a "sore thumb" for us because one of us didn't eat eggs and the other doesn't eat pork. Rather, we shifted towards spending almost $40 dollars for breakfast (partially due to my fiance being pregnant).

My husband and I decided to have an night alone without any children or family. When I checked in the clerk A J waited on me and he did not just hears your room key have a nice stay. We had a conversation for a good while which was very interesting and I felt like I was talking with an old friend. I went to check the room out knowing how picky my husband is and the first room was not exactly Holiday Inn quality. I went back to A J and asked if he could come look at the room with me there were problems. He immediately called an associate I'm going to call her Mrs. B because I could not pronounce her last name. She showed me two other rooms after what I told her I was displeased with the one originally offered to me. She made sure that I was taken care very well. The room was fabulous and our night was a very good. We have booked the same room for this upcoming weekend. Thank you A J and Mrs. B

room was not good....bed comforter had a nice big burn hole, dead center. How the person making up the bed left it...beyond me.
Also all the furniture was stained, burnt, dinged -- gross. And the carpet ...disgusting.

MY STAY PROBABLYWOULD HVE BEEN EXCELLENT EXCEPT FOR THE FACT I RECIEVED A WAKE -UP CALL AT 5 A.M. WHICH I DID NOT REQUEST.
THIS DISTURBED MY SLEEP AND I COULD NOT GET BACK TO SLEEP -DO MY PLANS OS SLEEPING IN UNTIL 9 OR 10 WERE
