Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Non Smoking room = cleaned smoking room Overall visit was acceptable, although being a long time non smoker there was definite evidence of my room being converted from smoking to non smoking, I woke as I once did years ago with a sore throat and cough as if I was back on the smoking team. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by staff was very friendly and accommendating the room was clean and very comfortable to sleep in .I appreciated the complimentry, frig/microwave. this made it easy to keep food hot and cool. It is in a good location. Quick access to the highway. The sport Grill is also a plus; the food was pretty good. The thing that I appreciated the most about my stay, was the friendly and very acommendating. I pray they are appreciated by their employer. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay We were in the area for a wedding and this was close to 95 and to where we wanted to be. From the check in to the check out, very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, bed extremely comfortable and very quiet at night. Food was OK but NITA the hostess/manager of the restaurant was very nice and gets an A plus for her services provided to help make us happy. Would definetloy stay there again and recommend it to anyone in the Richmond area. July 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not loving this place When we checked in, the front desk attendant was great--I do want to recognize her as she was the best part of this hotel stay. The elevator was not as clean as I've seen at comparably priced Holiday Inn's. When we arrived at our room the smell from the room was unpleasant but bearable. The floor of the bathroom was very slippery--the property manager came, acknowledged that we had a problem and sent somebody up from housekeeping to clean the floor again. It was done well the second time. The high speed internet claim is a bit dubious We ate at the restaurant 3 times: dinner on night one, not bad, not great. We had the breakfast buffet on morning one...not good at all. On the second morning one of us had the buffet and one of us ordered from the menu; the buffet was still bad, the menu order took more than 20 minutes to arrive and ended up not being the dish that was ordered. All in all, I would not recommend the restaurant. The one morning housekeeping came to our room, only one bed was made, only two large towels were replaced int the bathroom i.e. no washcloths or hand towels were replaced and none of the toiletries were replaced. Housekeeping was very subpar. We went to the pool one afternoon, it had a faint green tint to it so we didn't bother getting in thinking it might be a bit risky. July 23, 2014

Small problem with room, had to move, but manager accommodated and made us feel welcome. Would stay at this hotel again. My favorite food (wings) were the worst ever. Need another recipe. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer service with Guest Relations. My stay was fine it was for 1 night. The customer service I received from your Guest Relations was totally unacceptable. We were there for a funeral. There was a mix up of where we were between Petersburg and Richmond. We were on the road and within an hour of arrival, when we discovered the error and we call Customer Care immediately. The person I spoke with was great in changing the hotels and said we had to speak with Guest Relations to have the cancellation fee waived. I was transferred, explained we were going to a funeral, things got confusing and as a courtesy due to the circumstances, could we have the cancellation fee waive. The rep didn't have an ounce of empathy. Didn't sound concern - just stated no and you will be charged for the Petersburg room because it is after 6pm. I am in management for customer service and if one of my reps acted the way this person did, they would no longer work for the company. Because of this rep in Guest Relations, IHG will not receive business from me nor the company. June 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Guest Relations Service My stay at the hotel was okay. The service I received from the Guest Relations Dept was a different story. We were there for a funeral and the information for which hotel was confusing due to the nature of the trip. We were coming from out of town and while we were on the road, I realized that we were going to the wrong hotel, I called. I explained the problem and reservation said they could cancel the hotel and book at the other but in order for us to avoid a cancellation fee we must speak with Guest Relations. The person I spoke with wasn't sympathy of our situation, showed no empathy and refuse to waive the cancellation fee. I understand there are polices. I am in customer service management. The service I received from this rep was horrible and just added to our stress. I had to pay for the room that was cancelled June 9, 2014

The staff was very nice and helpful. My child left a personal item in the room. Although it took several phone calls the staff said they found it and would mail it back. Hope so!! May 28, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't go to the Restaurant Attached to the Property The room and amenities at this property are absolutely fine. The 'Sporting News' restaurant next door was a nightmare. First the waitress charged me $12 for an English muffin breakfast sandwich and a coffee. After she told me it was resolved I found she had charged me 3 different times. The only issue was that the bathroom was FREEZING for half of the trip, and we had to turn on the blow dryer for awhile to warm it up. Other than that, I had no issues. February 11, 2014

The only food around is a Subway, Mcdonalds, & hotels restaurant. Hotels restaurant however had good menu choices and my meals were good, portions were plenty. February 9, 2014
