I partialy filled out a previous survey about the South Carlonia Holiday Inn. There the food and staff were fantastic. But the room noise was horrible and the TV ready for the junk heap. The Richmodn South Bells road Holiday Inn had an exceptionl HD TV Phillips brand in the room. The bathroom was poorly laid out and much smaller than the South Carlina hotel. The free breakfast was horrible, you get a $20 voucher for 2 people and evrything is way over price. I asked for a Tea and got just hot water and an off brand Tea bag which resulted in just discolored hot water. Ordered a Veggie Egg omelet that came with untoasted toast and they forgot the additional English muffin ordered. I would have loved the same hot breakfast available in the South Carloina Holiday or a coupon voucher for McDonalds

I always choose Holiday Inn when I travel, because they tend to provide the best experience for my stay. I was not disappointed. A.J., the front desk attendant, was very pleasant and nice. He recognized me as a Priority Rewards Member and ensured we were satisfied with all areas of our stay. I certainly recommend this hotel when traveling. There were a few issues with the restaurant, but the staff there were very polite and corrected the problems immediately.

Room was not clean upon arrival. It was a complete mess with empty cigarette containers, soda bottles, dirty linens, and other trash on the floor. I called the front desk and we (family of 4) were asked to wait in the hallway with luggage in hand while they clean the room! After waiting for 10 minutes, I realized this process is going to take a while to properly clean this room. So we head down stairs to the lobby with our luggage.
After talking with the operating manager, Frank, he offered only a $15 discount, which does not rectify the situation. I asked for a free stay on a future date since they were unwilling/unable to offer us another room which was clean. He would not give me a free night's stay. But instead, he offered to give 5000 rewards points for my IHG Rewards, which never showed up on my account after 5+ days. The entire staff there that evening was very unprofessional and very disorganized. So it's no surprise that Frank did not add those points to my account.
The was even a king sized mattress just sitting in the 1st floor hallway near the elevators, for who knows what reason, making it difficult to walk around. That is totally unacceptable. Talk about a fire hazard! And why was the mattress in the hallway in the first place? One can imagine!
