This hotel is just great. We stay there every time we travel to New Jersey, up and back. And every time we do this there is a problem at the restaurant. No chardonnay , other flavors but the one time the manager said I could bring my wine down. Always had a lager beer on tap not this time. My husband had to drink bottle beer and not a good selection.
That's the only game in town you would think they would be stocked a little better. They also charge top $ . We were in Georgia at a restaurant connected to the hotel and it was only $2.45 a glass of wine and $1.50 for draft beer. The sports bar !!!!! needs to get their act together.

The actual hotel staff (front desk) was very polite and responded to any issue very quickly. The location of the hotel was a bit out of the way and there is only a Subway restaurant close by for eating options. While the Sports Grill on site would have been a convenient and fun option for food, the service was slow and unmotivated. If the restaurant was better, the location of the hotel could have been compensated for.

The room was a typical design and clean, and everything in the room worked. But the hotel failed at the little things:
1 - Only one soap in the room, so you had to move it from shower to sink and back.
2 - TVs didn't work in the fitness center.
3 - I ordered room service breakfast (toast and fruit), and the toast came with no butter or jelly. Who eats dry toast?
4 - In the conference room for breakfast they put out yogurt but no spoons, and muffins but no napkins or plates. Had to find someone to ask for both.

We were in the area on business, so the location was good for us. The front desk staff was very helpful and polite. The room was comfortable and everything so clean, except the carpet! There was a big stain and several small ones. Overall this is a nice motel and with a good carpet cleaning it would rate excellent with me.

We were in Richmond to attend a party held at this hotel. We were assigned a room all the way on the other end of the hotel. It was a hike for me with bad knees, but since it was only 1 night, why bother asking for another room. The room was clean, nothing horrible. It was a little narrow. It was odd the faucets in the bathroom were mixed. The hot water was on the right side and the cold on the left. The rubber stopper was missing on the bathroom door, so it was noisy when you opened the door.
The food provided by the hotel at the party was disappointing. Fish and chicken were dry. The staff at the party were attentive and professional. For the moderate price charged, I would say it was an ok place to stay. I would not stay longer then one night though.

I stayed here during a 3 night visit that included running the Richmond Marathon. The bed was absolutely comfortable and what a weary runner was needing after that race. The bathroom has plenty of counter space and a large shower.
My sleep quality was marked average because I could hear every door slam late at night and early in the mornings. One night, a person knocked and knocked and knocked on a door down the hall and I could hear it. By the time I got to the guts to open my door and say something, it had stopped at least.
The location of this hotel was good. It was not in the heart of downtown but was generally 15 minutes from where we needed to be throughout my visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Richmond.

Overall, Holiday Inn was a good choice for our family to stay. However, as a platinum member I would recommend more flexibility with breakfast coupon/voucher options. Being able to only use the coupons for best for breakfast was a "sore thumb" for us because one of us didn't eat eggs and the other doesn't eat pork. Rather, we shifted towards spending almost $40 dollars for breakfast (partially due to my fiance being pregnant).

room was not good....bed comforter had a nice big burn hole, dead center. How the person making up the bed left it...beyond me.
Also all the furniture was stained, burnt, dinged -- gross. And the carpet ...disgusting.

carpets stained throughout
drapes stained on left side.
dirty take=out cup in refrigerator
only one coffee cup in room.
Restaurant staff was excellent and the food was good and hot.

I paid a good rate and for a large group for a party we did not get a complimentary breakfast like I have received in other hotels. It was disappointing. Apart from that everything else was okay.

My room was outstanding. One female staff member made no mention of the fact that I am a rewards member. I could not encourage a visit to the restaurant; however, as I found it to be second rate, lacking in both quality and taste. The service was no better. It's a shame, too because of the convenients.

The room was clean and neat except the carpet. It "looked dirty" and had a lot of stains I paid for three rooms and the carpets were stained in all
The staff was great. Very polite and profesional.
Would never eat there again. I would recommend the motel, but not the resturant. The waiter was great.....the time to get a very easy breakfast was unsatisfactory and the hot cakes and oatmeal were COLD. We sent them back. The prices are really high just for the convenience of eating on site.
we did enjoy the stay, but you need to clean the carpets.

The staff seemed friendly and the rate per night was good. The bed was also comfortable, although the TV was outdated a bit. The one main issue I had was with the bathroom. The towel holder above the toilet was falling off and under the sink there were some stains on the tile that were not cleaned. In addition, the water was very slow to drain when I was taking a shower. My ankles were covered in dirty water.

We enjoyed the hospitality and the stay. We spent multiple days at this Holiday Inn due to my Dad being at the VA hospital. The staff made the stay a little less stressful due to their friendliness upon check-in. The rooms were very clean and up to date. We will definitely stay here again!

Newly renovated and clean. The staff made our stay even more enjoyable - always around and smiling and helpful. It really makes a difference. My stay was over the weekend 08/16 - 08/17 and we had a pet. At times you could hear other doggies crying for their owners but not for long. We just turned our a/c on fan and drowned out any noise which is normal for most hotels.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn and did not have any problems at all. Everything was clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant / bar was a nice touch attached to the hotel. It is kinda off the beaten path BUT not far from anything in richmond. Overall we had absolutely no complaints from checking in to checking out.

The location is easily accessible from Interstate 95. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Wish there was more lighting in the bathrooms. Not suitable for applying make-up.
Had limited ability to logon to room Wi-Fi, even after contacting. Technical support. Ordered chicken wings from the restaurant connected to the hotel. Order looked more like frog legs than chicken wings. Not worth the price.

Have traveled a lot. Usually stay in higher end hotel but this time traveling with pet and didn't really want to pay a $100 non- refundable "deposit" for a quick overnight stay on a trip up to Northeast.
Room was comfortable, maintenance was terrific, front desk assistance was friendly and helpful. Last of all, room service dinner was great.
The cheerful attitude of the staff was a real treat.

The folks we were visiting on business turned their noses up when we told them where we were staying but it was already late in the afternoon so we went there anyway.
From the time we walked in until we left the next moring all of our experiences were positive. The Staff was friendly and helpful, the directions they gave were impeccable and the restaurant on site was tremendous. The restaurant even offerred room service for breakfast which was extremely timely and helpful.
I will not stay anyplace else unless the Richmond South Bells Road is booked to capacity

The hotel is great but the restaurant needs help. They never have enough of the same wine.AND the prizes are outlandish. We stay at Holiday Inns going up and down the east coast and this one is the most expensive for beverages.

The location was ideal for our needs with having to have services done at the VA Hospital. The hotel was very easy to find. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable. We were very comfortable and the room was very clean and all our needs were met.

I have stayed at this hotel several times this year and I love it. I stayed at another hotel within the area and I was not happy. H. I. is the best in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful, the pool is great. I recommend this hotel to anyone who comes down to the Richmond area.

I conducted a two-day meeting in this hotel. It was my first time in the hotel and when I walked into the speaking room...everything was done right! It was such a pleasure to not have to shift tables, ask for garbage cans, extension cords, etc.
Robert was amazing...pure and simple and I look forward to holding many more meetings there.
The one "issue" was the restaurant. They were slow, didn't have a good concept of customer service and inaccurate with the orders (two of my attendees ordered onion rings with their sandwiches. One got potato chips, the other got soggy fries.)

A hotel is only as good as its people. A.J. at the front desk was helpful and very personable. A front desk person who exemplifies a desire and a willingness to ensure you enjoy your stay is the key to a good hotel. A.J. did that for us. He is a fantastic ambassador for your hotel.
