Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kimn1954 Very friendly, accommodating staff; clean, well appointed hotel
I cannot say enough good things about our experience at this hotel! My husband and I, our 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren stayed here for four nights while in Richmond for a family celebration. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our large group. The rooms were spacious, well appointed and very clean. The housekeeping staff meticulously saw to every detail. The hotel was quiet, had everything we needed and the price was reasonable. The food was good, although the restaurant did seem a little understaffed. The waitresses were great though. We will definitely stay here next time we are in town!

Great new hotel with nice amenities and superb staff. Difficult to get to initially due to poor signage and confusing entrance. We held a conference here and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our group. Very nice beds/room

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JoeA469 Fine unless you hate soft water
Had problems right off the bat trying to find the entrance to the parking lot--a sign would have been helpful. Staff was nice and room was just fine. I liked that there was a shower stall instead of a tub, but I didn't dare use it. The water was so soft I could barely rinse soap off my hands--I wasn't about to try to shower.

The willingness of every employee here amazes me each time I stay. At first I thought it was a new place and would wear off but they keep improving. Every place has mishaps but these folks try harder and get better. It is Clean, new and still working through some startup pangs but they are committed to the customer service and want to work for your loyalty. I travel 46 out of 52 weeks a year in all environments and it is the people who impress the most. From what I see they will do well. Give them a chance!

We had a hard time getting into the parking lot even though we could see the hotel the street nearby is a dead end. They need to put a sign at the end of the street that leads up to their parking lot telling travelers where to turn because it appears to be a one way street and you would be going the wrong way if you made a right turn there. The hotel lobby was nice and clean, the room was amazing with nice beds and linens and lots of pillow, firm and soft. There was a fridge and a flat screen tv. The room and bathroom were spotless. I did not hear any noise from other rooms or from the highway. I have no idea how this hotel received any bad reviews because that was not our experience. The breakfast was not free so we did not even bother so I have no idea what they offered. As we drove from OK to NJ and back again we paid more for hotels but this was the best one that we stayed at and I would not hesitate to stay there again. When we were leaving in the morning the ladies cleaning the rooms were pleasant and asked how our stay was.

The manager on staff when we arrived was rude and extremely unfriendly. We travel almost once a month and have never experienced should rude behavior and comments.
Unfortunately that first impression did damper our visit somewhat but luckily the weekend staff was much more pleasant and accomodating.
The rooms were very nice and quiet.
The only setback was having to use the elevators all the time,
we like to use the stairs but they only lead to the outside and not the lobby.
Also the lemon water that was available was a nice touch!!

After a long trip from NJ it was a pleasant rest stop. Friendly service at the front desk, a comfortable bed in a pleasant room and a good breakfast to get us going the next morning.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by rpm88yb Hotel is ok, restaurant has really gone down the tubes since opening
I've been at this hotel extensively since it opened due to a company project, and I thought the food in the restaurant was good comparable to other places around town initially. Since the first of the year it has really declined. I mean the drinks are kinda expensive, and the food service and quality has gone in the toilet both for breakfast and at dinner. The breakfast offerrings are poor with very little in the way of fresh fruit variety or cold food, and the "hot" food is always luke warm. The food is really picked over towards the end of the week too. With dinner, the food takes forever. I mean waiting for an hour or more for a quesadilla, a burger, or some fried food is ridiculous. Angie and Kayla are good as bartenders when you can get their attention, but the cook I see out wandering around the seating area when he should probably be making food.
As for the rooms, the noise from the A/C unit when it is on is pretty loud. It also wasn't sealed properly with the windows so the wind howls and whistles thru the unit from outside. In addition, if you have a room facing the freeway get used to hearing trucks on the interstate all night long.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by rpm88yb Hotel is decent, but noise in the rooms gets pretty bad
I'm at this hotel almost every week due to a company project and have been staying here since it opened. It was probably a bad sign to start the week when the initial room I was given had the door locked and someone in it, and I had to go back downstairs to the front desk to get another room assignment.
First thing I will say is that the rooms are very noisy, especially the ones on the end near the freeway. All you hear all night are trucks going by on that side, and on the other side all you hear are people getting on and off the elevator (why both the elevators aren't synced together I will never know#. Best to stay in the rooms in the middle of the building based on my experience. Unfortunately, the road noise isn't the only thing to contend with, the AC unit in each room is also pretty loud and kicks on fairly frequently even on auto #room temp set to 67 in my case#. Also, when it gets windy outside the wind against the AC units sounds like someone is loudly playing a kazoo in your room. Lastly, the hinges on the door to my room squealed when it was opened or closed, I mentioned this to the front desk, but it was never fixed over my stay.
On the positive side, they do have a restaurant/bar downstairs which has a decent array of dinner and drink items and allows you to stay in and not have to drive around to get food every night. The breakfast in the morning is a buffet which is lackluster at best. They have some hot food out in warming trays, a few pastries and some cold items like milk and yogurt. Juice is extra. If you aren't eating breakfast early #before 7-7:30am# the offerings can get pretty picked over. I'd like to see them offer more fresh fruit #not canned fruit dumped out in a bowl), and more variety of offerings both warm and cold comprable to what the other hotels in the area offer. Seems like they run out of items as the week goes on as well.
Bottom line is if you need to stay in Richmond, this is a decent option for the cost.

I submitted a long very long and detailed review taking pains to list every issue/problem that I faced in this hotel when I stayed here for 2 weeks. Interestingly they decided not to post my review - I wont be surprised because of the very low ratngs I gave them. I will never stay here. I moved out in the hotels next door and have been much more satisfied in the other hotels in Richmond, IN where I have stayed for 5 weeks now. DO NOT STAY in holiday inn, richmond, IN. Bad...Bad..Bad....

The room was great. Very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast, which you have to pay extra for, was an embarrassment. You have to ask for coffee or juice, and there was no silverware on any of the tables. They were out of many of the offerings, and the breakfast staff did not seem to care in the slightest. What was there was cold. I have never had a free breakfast that was this bad, not to mention one you had to pay for.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lori62 Staff was excellent , but the room had problems.
After trying twice to get the correct room --incorrect bed size for the first, and bathroom not serviced by housekeeping for the second--we finally settled into our third room, only to discover a problem. The "sealed" window had a terrible leak and it whistled all night long.
The staff was very concientious in trying to help us get the best room, but by the time we we switched to our third room, we just didn't want to move again.
Again, great staff, and the room was very nice, but couldn't sleep at all with the whistling window.

New location, large quiet rooms, did an upgrade for me to the suite. EXCELLENT staff, made me feel welcomed as a returning guest. Breakfast was the only thing I was not impressed with. For what the charge was the selection was pretty poor. Needs some serious review of what they offer. A buffet would be a suggestion from me.

Albeit this is a new Holiday Inn, it's missing some of the touches that you come to expect from a hotel.
Things like hot water in the shower, responsive/attentive staff, warm and inviting feeling.
The first things I noticed is it was a little difficult to locate the actual entrance to the hotel - but that's not a new thing, I travel about 1000 miles a week, and find myself in new and unfamiliar places regularly.
I entered the hotel and was struck with how new it was, as well as how painfully LEED the lighting was. I don't think there was anything other than 3200k CFLs in the lobby. This makes for a very uncomfortable experience to the eyes late at night.
The blue lighting aside, the staff at the desk was a bit brusk, made no mention of the PC status, but did let me know where things were and when (I could almost hear them over the very large TV with the local news on).
The room was spotless- This was a HUGE plus. Loved the room. Didn't like the traffic noise so much, but you get used to it.
Morning found me "bathing" in my sink, as there was NO hot water to the shower at all.
A mention of this to the front desk staff resulted in a quick apology and an offer of PCR points. No points posted to account other than what I had expected from the stay.
I departed early in the morning, and was a little grateful to get on the road.
Will I stay again? Perhaps -
Will I check the shower first? Definitely.

For a new hotel only open 2 months it was dirty. Hotel is not being maintained. Carpets dirty and stained. Halls had not been vacuumed. TV's could not get any of the network channels. NBC, CBS, or ABC were not available. Hotel is cheaply built with poor craftmanship. Vinyl flooring in lobby and restaurant is crooked, unlevel, and wavy. Sleep room was poorly painted with areas missed and paint on ares that should not have been painted. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Platinum member of Intercontinental and stay at lot of Hotels. This one I will not return to. Fitness room was dirty and had no cups for water cooler.

This must be the ugliest carpet ever invented. I am a Platinum Priority Club member and I see a lot of hotels. So many little things that are not up to par. The dining.bar area looks unfinished and a lack of concern.
Rate quoted was not the rate charged. They changed it immediately but...
A little thing maybe but the elevators are not on the same call button. You can push the up button and wait when there is one already there. Pushing both is possible but then you end up with both elevators on the same floor. Just an example of cost cutting or poor planning.
Entrance road needs work.
This hotel just does not measure up.

We were excited to find a Holiday Inn in this small town and were even more excited when we saw how this new concept hotel was so open and inviting, Loved the open and clean feeling lobby. The front desk staff was very friendly and informative. Loved the new eat in your room concept! The only thing that could use some work was housekeeping. We spent 2 nights and when our room was made up after our first night our bed wasn't completely made back up (one side wasn't even tucked in) and our bathroom supplies weren't re-stocked. This is hopefully just the result of staff in training. I wouldn't let this small issue keep us away and would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful facility!
