This is the second year we have held our conference at this hotel. The Virginia Professional Photographers Association.
I can not say enough about the hotel and staff., from the front desk, to the maintaince crew. I had, had surgery on my wrist, earlier this year. This wonderful guy in maintaince, Willy, so help full, he helped me get my luggage, from the car and into my room, and when I left he helped me again. He was such a gentleman.
The resterant was great, as well as the food.
The staff that setup our events, were outstanding, and very pleasant.
I hope we can have it here again in the future..
I would stay here if I have a need for a hotel in Roanoke again. The location was great, close to the Mall!

I am the president of the Virginia Professional Photographers Asso.
For the last two years the Roanoke Valley View has hosted our convention. We had 120-140 attendees each year. The Hotel and its staff have been the best that we have worked with in my 13 years with the Asso. So much so, that we will be written letters to the Owners and Holiday Inn Corporate the staff did. If your looking to hold any event in Roanoke, this is the place to be. Great rates, food and service, and only two miles from the airport.

While everyone was wonderful, my room's heating unit did not work properly (either you had it on or off there was no happy medium with the unit.) and my request for next to elevator was not accommodated. I was several doors away from the elevator.

I stay here probably 15 times a year and can not say enough good. The staff is great, rooms are nice and the food in the bar is great.

I thought the hotel and the service was great. However, I had Room 100. That is the very first room, practically in the lobby. The lobby area was loud all night. It was especially bad when you could hear banging and other sounds of the service staff between 2am and 4am. I will likely stay at this hotel again, but will not accept a room like that.

At our recent visit i found hair on the display washcloth in the bathroom. not a good first impression. there were a lot of room service dishes in the hall also. on the plus side, the pool and whirlpool were very nice. even though my first impression of the place was not good, i would recommend this hotel and stay again in the future.

The good news is the location was convenient, pet policy helpful, property clean and pleasing, restuarant staff friendly and competent and food (and beer) very good.
The bad news is when we got to our room there were no local TV stations, the night manager claimed not to know it, she was very casual about finding out what was wrong and inspite of my asking did not let me know if/when it would be or was resolved and acted as thugh it was an isolated situaton although other staff members told us it was common and persistent to have tv problems. Silly, but we had rushed to this location at thistime towatch a specific local show only to be disappointed. Boo!

Old tired, room is worn and dirty. TV did not work properly. Dirty in corners, room looked like it needed a refresh.

I was very pleasantly surprised by my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Valley View. It's ideally located just off I-581, the greeting at the reception desk was warm and inviting, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet the next morning was excellent! And did I mention a great price? I highly recommend this Roanoke "Gem"!

My husband and I stayed at the Roanoke Holiday Inn (1) night.
Around 2:00 a.m., someone in the hallway called out "Suuueeey" four separate times in a span of about 20 minutes.
At approximately 5:00 a.m., it sounded like a couple of people were having a very loud verbal fight in one of the near-by rooms. I finally called the front desk and asked them to please check it out.
They came to our room and asked if we were "ok". I said of course we are, but someone has been really loud and we can't sleep. They said they would check it out. The loud voices / fighting stopped right after that.
Around 7am, I went out to get coffee and hoped for some pastry to take back to the room. I asked the desk if they found out who was so loud at 5:00 that morning. They said they had no idea.
I suspect that their laborers who work the laundry room (which was right across from our room (#112) and those who prepare food for the customers were just being loud and verbally aggressive.
Also, the windows in the room could not be opened to get any fresh air. We had to leave the drapes closed the entire time because our room view was open to the general population accessing the hotel pool and dining area.
We will never stay at another Holiday Inn especially in Roanoke.
Terrible customer service.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The brakfats buffet was a big hit, and all we left with was regret that we missed going in the pool!

This was a nice surprise since I had read a negative review on TripAdvisor.
Large room, nice bed, peaceful surroundings, indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, great restaurant on-site, and pet friendly.
I would definitely stay here again.
