Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nightmare Arrival After booking 3 rooms back in January and 2 subsequent phone calls (one the day before arrival) to ensure we could get into rooms early, we arrived late - 2pm normal checking in time! (M25 Traffic)and the rooms still weren't ready. Despite the receptionist ringing housekeeping several times no-one came back to her. She was very helpful but new and out of her depth. We had to wait half an hour before we could get into ONE room and drop of our bags and get changed. This was very upsetting as we were attending my granddaughter's 'Surprise' birthday party and had to be in place by 3pm. Thankfully the party was only 10 minutes away. Bar/food staff were excellent in the evening, very attentive. Housekeeping not so good - I requested 2 hard pillows only to be told "Sorry, I can only find these soft ones". At breakfast the staff again were excellent except the unhappy looking chef who just disappeared halfway through cooking eggs and the waiting staff leader had to take over. Also why were guests NOT informed that the swimming pool was unavailable? My grandsons were very disappointed. A couple who arrived the same time as us went elsewhere, very annoyed they had not been informed. The room was nice, the bathroom exceptional. Most staff excellent. But really not impressed with Holiday Inn Chatham. March 26, 2015

Last week my choice was scrambled eggs and a few beans (other than the mountain of cheap sausages everyone was obviously swerving). Reason for the review both times I mentioned it when checking out, both times "oh I'm sorry". Could someone do something about it please? March 8, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What a horrendous experience Parking spaces to narrow and as its shared with a gym, Full. check in was lousy, the staff didn't recognise my status until literally handing me a drinks voucher. No other mention at all.. I was booked into a twin single room, when asked if there was any others I was told categorically the hotel was full. The room absolutely stank of stale cigarettes and cheap air freshener as did the corridors. I went back to reception and asked to change room (or I would have left!) a room becomes available. The food was comical. I only ordered a Mexican burger (having had one 2 days before at a nearby HI) it was terrible. Clearly made by someone who had no interest in his job! I've taken photos of this! At breakfast it was obvious that nothing had been freshly cooked for sometime. It all appeared stale and poorly presented (@9 am ???) I will admit, I couldn't eat it all as it tasted Vile especially the eggs! Was I entitle to free gym use out of interest? I await a response! March 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Work stay This is a nice relaxing hotel which was what I needed after a long drive. My room was quiet and very comfortable and the food from room service was good to. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Next time I am down this way I will stay again. Many thanks March 7, 2015
