Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A poor example. This stay was not up to previous ones a few months ago. Firstly it took 15 minutes to get checked in. Not just me, there was longer queue behind me when I had finished. Needed more staff and a greater sense of urgency. Ate in, staff good, meal OK but a bit too "out of the packet" for the price. Drank in bar - its about time that IHG started serving local beers instead of the mundane and boring Boddingtons everywhere. Check out has been a disaster. Computer was down. Gave my email address expecting a bill in a few days. When nothing after 10 days contacted customer services. Another week got a phone call late in evening. Eventually, after 3 phone calls 3 emails I paid my bill and got a receipt. Hope I get my points eventually. Things do go wrong but strong organisations can handle it well internally without hassling the customer. August 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent welcome and top class service After our recent holiday we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Rochester as we have done many times before. The experience was fantastic with friendly staff who are prepared to go the extra mile, great rooms, super pool area, delicious food and a cracking breakfast the following day. We have stayed in many hotels as we travel the country on a regular basis but this hotel is definitely superior to any other. Highly recommended. August 25, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Booked a room on Holiday Inn website but full when we arrived to check in I booked a room at the hotel and had confirmation it was booked. My husband and two young children arrived to be told despite booking the hotel was full and we couldn't stay. We spent nearly an hour very late at night with one tired and one sleeping child whilst staff went and checked thing and made phone calls but the conclusion was there wasn't a room at the hotel despite booking. The hotel staff were far from polite, some of the comments were, I quote "everyone is unhappy tonight", "there is nothing we can do we don't have a room" to which I was most unhappy and ask the member of staff to call another hotel as where were we supposed to sleep for the night. I had always thought if you booked a room it meant it was reserved for you but clearly not. The hotel staff did say there system had been down for 3 days and they had no idea who what was going on but I don't feel this was acceptable. August 23, 2014

I stay at this particular hotel around ten days a month and this usually wonderful hotel crashed and burned...... it was only the dedication of the staff that kept her afloat! August 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 First Class Stay Again We have stayed at the Rochester - Chatham hotel on many occasions over the years. As always the reception staff greet us with enthusiasm and make you feel like family members they have not seen for a while. Always friendly and helpful. The quality of the room was exceptional and most importantly we always get a comfortable nights stay. As an IHG member we get that special touch all the time. Well done. Mr August 22, 2014

The swimming pool was warm and a lovely place to relax. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant, comfortable and friendly place to stay. We use this hotel 2-3 times a year as a base for visiting family in Kent. For us this works really well and as a bonus, our 12 year old grandson who accompanies us from Cornwall enjoys the swimming pool when we return to base in the evening. The breakfast is good and great value, served by friendly staff. The rooms with fridge and a TV are clean and comfortable serviced by an efficient and pleasant staff. We would recommend Holiday Inn both here and in other locations we have visited. August 18, 2014
