The refurbished rooms are good although the corridors now need to be updated to the same level.

The hotel presented its usual high standard however one area that let it down was the vacuuming of the passage way carpets. Together with the carpeted stairs and stair wells areas
Dust and fluff has been left to build up, along the edges, against the walls and stair risers, that when scuffed by a shoe formed into amounts of dusty fluff that should not be expected.
Whilst the stairs down to the lower ground floor are used by staff and guests, the collected amounts of dusty fluff were still there on the second day.
Though they were very noticeable by anyone in charge of house cleaning of common areas. This overlooked cleaning deficiency was the only item that let this establishment down.
Otherwise it lived up to its usual high standard.

I had concerns regarding the current refurbishment works at this hotel but I made that known at the time of booking and was allocated a quiet room away from the areas being refurbished and had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were excellent. I had forgotten my razor but was provided a razor pack c/w jel f.o.c. The bar area could be enhanced with some more secluded areas and the restaurant is a bit stark, however, the service was excellent and food pretty good, although the choices could be better. Overall very happy with my stay and will definitely stay there again.

This was not my first visit to this hotel.
At reception we were greeted by Davin, and very helpful he was I told him about my difficulty booking the hotel having to speak to America, to someone who could not understand me. It also cost me over £7 for the privilege.
I was not sure what I had booked. I only knew I had a room.
We were booked in and went off to find our room, and a very long way it was.
However it was a recently refurbished room and had a good view of the airport ( well it would have done if one of the windows wasn’t blown )( had moisture in it.)
It had a lovely big Television and was well equipped and modern. The trouble I had was the fridge was not working and I needed to keep my eye drops cool. I rang reception and asked for some help. I spoke to Davin and was assured that someone would be right up. A very good and kind person arrived called Peter. He looked at the fridge and found that as I had seen that the control was on full. He then offered a change of room; we went to this room and found that the fridge in this room was the same, no point in moving. He then offered to store the eye drops in the fridge in the bar. I took him up on this very kind offer and all went well.
After all this we went for a swim, the pool is great, and the staff very good. This is the best asset the hotel has. I must admit that my wife and I pick out hotels with pools, we both love swimming.
We enjoyed our evening meal, the staff were excellent, well worth the service charge.
The rest of the stay went well a good night’s sleep and the breakfast was good especially when Peter got me some bread , as I was told by one of the other staff only olive bread and bread for toast was left.
Just two points I would like to make just as things you could do to improve things.
Only one dressing gown with two people in the room.
No toilet roll holder. ( maybe it is not the done thing to have one, or are they on order)
All in all we had a good stay in this hotel the staff are the greatest, thought full and efficient.
