Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Where We Will Stay We have stayed here twice for a total of four nights. This is where we will go in the future. I agree with the positive reviews, and not so much with the negatives, Yes it is an old building, but it has been well renovated, is clean and comfortable, has a good on-site restaurant and bar, a good location, and an absolutely EXCELLENT staff. And comparing prices with the other hotels on the skyway or near the Clinic, it is a bargain when you include the fine breakfast and parking in the price package. We will stay there again! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice pool and helpful front desk staff The building is old school and has a good vibe. The hotel starts on the second floor, which is strange. Nice bar and restaurant. I was able to check in early and room was clean and comfortable. I used the pool and it is brightly lit and nicely done. I really wish it had a hot tub too. I will definitely stay there again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding Hotel Our daughter was married in Rochester two weeks ago and everything was the Art Center which was about 3 blocks away through the skyway, which was very easy to walk for all of our customers. We chose the Downtown Holiday Inn as our primary hotel because of price for our family and friends but in the end it wasn't price that I am writing about but SERVICE! I started by working with Jacque in Group sales and she was great, she got us over 30 rooms for the night of the weeding and 8 the night before. She was also great in making an exception in moving the date back a bit to get more rooms included for family and friends that needed rooms. She was also there right away on Thursday when we got there for the Saturday weeding to make sure everything was the way we wanted it and probably asked me 5 times the next three days if everything was OK. She handed things off to Jessica the Front Office Manager and from putting us all together pool side from Thursday on and to making sure everything was perfect, Jessica could not have been better! Excellent customer service skills and every time I came to the front desk to get another one of my family and friends the group rate or a room moved she treated me with so warm and professional, again you can see why she is the manager of the front desk. In-fact everyone of the front desk people took her lead and asked what they can do for me and did so with a smile. The General Manager was Marwan, I worked with Marwan over the phone again to get some exceptions for our block rate and he did everyone without exception and again was nothing but first class. These three individuals really impressed us and my wife and I have been in the customer service business our whole lives and we really appreciate EXCEPTIONAL service. They did all of this even though there was another wedding on that night using their Hotel for everything, but they recognized that we could have gone to other hotels with our 40 rooms and responded accordingly. We will go back and stay in the same rooms some day as our daughter and husband live in Rochester and since the location Is so close to downtown establishments, its just a perfect reasonably priced downtown Hotel that very clean, comfortable and wonderful people to take care of you.
