Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mayo guests Handicapped Room
We stayed in one of the handicapped rooms as my husband is paraplegic and is in a wheelchair. We were going to appointments at the Mayo Clinic. We found that the bed was too high for him to transfer from his wheelchair to the bed easily. A lower bed might make more sense in a handicapped room used by people in wheelchairs!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dunedin pleasant room, quiet
Was disappointed that it was not a Holiday Inn Express as listed on the GPS and literature. It was a nice room and a quiet place but not what we were expecting. No free breakfast as at an Express. Nice location downtown but not what we were looking for. The man who checked us in did tell us where to park at no cost on the weekend which we appreciated.

This is fine hotel and meets my expectations of a Holiday Inn. The only area that could improve is an extra side chair in the room. We only had the one desk chair.

I have been going to Mayo Clinic for 10 years and have stayed at a number of different hotels. This Holiday Inn is absolutely the best value in the downtown area. Excellent staff, parking, and clean rooms.

Everyone is very nice and polite. Very eager to help. I didn't like the pool. Very small and surrounded by other rooms and was on the sky walk so we didn't take a dip. I might of been used to a pool that was 8 feet deep at a different hotel that was close by that was very secluded. Beds were comfortable at first but was rough on my back later. It seemed they were over used mattresses or too soft. I could see where the springs were trying to come through. I loved the complimentary drinks and shrimp appetizer. Made my day a little bearable from the Mayo. I just wished it was every night while we were there. Like all properties that were close by, I hated paying for parking on something that we already were spending a lot of money on during our stay. On the website, it said parking was like 15 dollars. I didn't know it was going to be that way every night! They did switch me to a patient rate to help just a little. Otherwise, I love the convenience it had to down town access.
