The room was acceptable, shower head excellent, staff helpful. BUT the way the hotel handles parking stinks. When making a reservation it isn't clear whether parking is included or not at $14.00er day. Then when making a new reservation for a future stay the desk clerk informs us that parking is free if we pay $5.00 more per night. That is a better deal than you internet site fee.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mara14 no customer service here
We were on a moms get away for the weekend on sunday morning between 9am-1030am we were awaken by 3 staff members asking us when we would be checking out. Checknout is not until 12pm not 9am... when we went to the front desk to complain nothing was done about yhis no discount was offered just an appology... feel there is no customer service at this facility... also parking in the ramp is outrageously priced.. should be compedvfor stayinginhotel th in parking ramp already pay enough to stay there... no continental breakfast but they will charge 10.00 per person for breakfast buffet for those moms coming to a conference on a budget it is not reasonable at all..

Good location. Heart of downtown, within walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants. Hotel itself is nice, pool area is small. Problem is parking. No room for larger vehicles, and $13 parking fee. Too high. Otherwise I would recommend if staying downtown Rochester.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tymoon Terrible Hotel Experience
This was the worse hotel experience I have had in years. We had to change rooms first because the first room smelled terrible when we walked into it. Then when we arrived in the second room, the sheets on one of the beds had a huge dirty spot on it, and several small ones. When I tried to run water in the tub, it would not hold the water, which leaked out. This was just a really bad hotel stay. If it had not been getting late and we were not so tired, we would have left the hotel. I will never stay at this hotel again! It really is in terrible need of remodeling. Everything seemed old and just sad and dowdy. It was depressing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terri50 Love this place
Love this Holiday Inn. Love the staff very friendly and always greets you with a smile. The food is to die for and reasonable! You feel like youre family when staying there. The only down side is the internet doesn't work in rooms all the time best time to use it is early in morning and late at night. It does work in their computer room.
I wouldnt stay anywhere else.
Rooms are lovely, microwave and refridge are a plus, bar very friendly atmosphere. The location is great for the Mayo clinic

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MandyMN12 Nice room BUT poor service
I was hoping for a much better experience during my two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Rochester. Instead, I ended up being frustrated. The room was nice and clean. But on my second night, after spending roughly 10 hours at the hospital/clinic, I went straight to the restaurant/bar to order a pizza to take to my room (another negative was that if you wanted to order food and have it delivered, there was an automatic charge of $2.50 plus 18% gratuity!!). I stood at the bar for about 5 minutes. A waitress stood at the end of the bar avoiding eye contact and cleaning dishes. I did not see a bartender and eventually I left hungry and frustrated. I got to my room and tried to call the restaurant to order. The front desk put me through to the restaurant where it rang for a good minute or two with no answer. I hung up and ordered Papa John's. Then the next day after my last appointment at the clinic, I found out they wanted me to have another test done. I called the hotel to see if I could have a late check-out. They only allowed me two hours even after I explained that the test might take longer. So I was unable to complete that test because I couldn't afford another possible night charge. Now I have to return to Rochester yet again. I will not be staying at the Holiday Inn.
