I have been going to Mayo Clinic for 10 years and have stayed at a number of different hotels. This Holiday Inn is absolutely the best value in the downtown area. Excellent staff, parking, and clean rooms.

Everyone is very nice and polite. Very eager to help. I didn't like the pool. Very small and surrounded by other rooms and was on the sky walk so we didn't take a dip. I might of been used to a pool that was 8 feet deep at a different hotel that was close by that was very secluded. Beds were comfortable at first but was rough on my back later. It seemed they were over used mattresses or too soft. I could see where the springs were trying to come through. I loved the complimentary drinks and shrimp appetizer. Made my day a little bearable from the Mayo. I just wished it was every night while we were there. Like all properties that were close by, I hated paying for parking on something that we already were spending a lot of money on during our stay. On the website, it said parking was like 15 dollars. I didn't know it was going to be that way every night! They did switch me to a patient rate to help just a little. Otherwise, I love the convenience it had to down town access.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill C. Great value, curtious staff.
Had a six day stay. Received wonderful service and enjoyed the hospitality.
The room was very quite. Never heard a sound the entire time. .All the amenities were afforded, including Micro ,Frig and large TV.
The entire staff was so courteous, especially Dennis the Bartender!
Will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown when we return.

We (3 of us) were very disappointed. When making reservations, I asked for a handicapped accessible room with 2 beds; was given a hearing impaired room where the wheelchair would not fit through the bathroom door. Able to change rooms, but given a king sized bed with rollaway by pool & party room (was handicapped however). We had to move furniture to make the rollaway fit in the room. We had to put the rollaway up ourselves. Front desk staff did not seem to care about the inconvenience. No dead bolt on door. Other things we were told by staff when checking in: Shuttle would pick up out front without prior notification for a wheelchair and was given a pick up schedule. Not so. Had to walk to Gonda Bldg. or miss appt. Told we could not get clinic rate. Charged for parking. No easy parking. Long walk to reception desk. I would not recommend staying here if elderly or handicapped. We certainly won't.

Best downtown value we found. A very nice Holiday Inn, upgraded, renovated rooms, great location. The restaurant hostess on Sunday morning was fairly rude. Told us we had to have the brunch, couldn't order off the menu but we got that straightened out quickly.
