Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room We have enjoyed stopping at this Holiday Inn for the past few years. We have always had an enjoyable stay. Last month we arrived after 8:pm and was pleasantly greeted and given our room key. Our room was missing a pillow on the bed, had a wasp in the curtains, had the antibacterial spray and cloth on the counter and a few minutes after getting settled in found the smell of a cigarette in the vent system of the bathroom. It appears someone felt it necessary to smoke even though it's a non-smoking area. The front desk individual, a female , who was very attentive to the above issues helped make the remainder of our stay as pleasant as possible. We will be back again, but would appreciate your attention to the above issues. April 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great get-away, but dining service was really slow We stayed at the Rocky Mount Holiday Inn for 1 night, using Priority Club points. Fantastic deal for a Reward Nights stay, with a comfortable room and indoor pool in a really nice hotel. Convenient location for us to meet friends part-way between where we live. Kids enjoyed the little bag of goodies that we received for being a Priority Club member. My only complaint is that the dining service was incredibly slow. We ate there for two meals, dinner and breakfast. We thought that perhaps the kitchen was understaffed for dinner, so we decided to try it again the next morning. Even with being the only table of patrons in the restaurant, we still waited 30+ mins for our food. Too long for kids to wait for breakfast. Other minor issues -- our reserved room wasn't ready when we arrived at 5:30 pm. Also we were billed $25 for a Rewards Night stay (only hotel where I've ever had that issue), but the Guest Services manager took care of that quickly. I would stay at the hotel again, but would try someplace else for dining. It's convenient to have the restaurant right there, but not worth the extended wait to have hotel food. March 29, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service The check in went smooth, but the clerk was very unprofessional, asking me to smell her perfume and rolling her eyes when I asked what perks they offered for a 'gold' member. The restaurant in the morning had such poor service we only had time to order what we thought would be a pre-made yogurt parfait, but it still took 15 minutes to get. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Almost new - and maintained like new! We frequently stay at Holiday Inns because of price and convenience and stayed at 4 during our recent three week vacation. This Holiday Inn at Rocky Mount was the best maintained of the four inns we visited on our vacation and it was only better when it was brand new. The Rocky Mount property isn't quite new. It is perhaps five years old - but it might as well still be brand new. We saw no signs of wear and tear anywhere. Our reservation was apparently upgraded and we got a king suite (Room 301) and it was lovely. The first time we stayed at this hotel we got a nice large room that hadn't been used before. The hotel was that new. We've stayed at this Inn nearly once a year since then and it still looks just as good. That is rare. What is more, check in is easy and check out is even easier. Few hotels make the effort required to maintain a property this well. This one apparently does and we will stay in Rocky Mount again for exactly that reason. March 5, 2013

The staff was very friendly, the location was good, and I enjoyed my meal at the onsite Bistro. I have stayed at other area properties over the past several years and there are differences. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel! We were traveling from New Jersey to South Carolina and felt Rocky Mount was a good point to rest. The lobby is beautiful and the staff was attentive and courtious. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The restaurant food was just ok but my expectations are never high for a hotel restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful though. The kids really enjoyed the pool. December 20, 2012

When I had trouble with my Wi-Fi on my computer, they got me a cable quickly so I could continue. They also knew the area and could give good directions (with landmarks) and describe the food and service at local restaurants. The staff at most hotels today don't know anything about their area and, at best, hand you a piece of paper with some information on it. The room was not only clean, it was spacious and everything looked new. December 13, 2012

We have stayed here a few times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly as soon as you walk through the door, the rooms are clean as well as the common areas. I called to inform the staff that we would be late and they assured me that the room would be waiting and not to worry. Kathy at the desk was polite and efficient. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Have Experienced Better Like many of us today on a budget I was unable to handle more than one night in a handicap suite at what I had read of reviews to be a really memorable experience. I planned this stay to visit friends at the end of a busy work week. We arrived about 5:30pm the staff was managing a large group well . We were told that housekeeping was finishing up the room, it would be ready in about ten minutes, no big deal I thought. The suite was beautiful, spacious and comfortable on a corner, perfect for peaceful relaxation. I came prepared with light breakfast (as the hotel does not offer continental breakfast) to store and heat and found a full sized refrigerator, microwave and kitchen sink perfect to wash salad vegetables for dinner. I had to stop every couple of pieces to let it drain out since the kitchen drain was badly stopped up. This would not have been so bad if I had not pulled back the covers to spray sheets only to find dirt and a small hole near the bottom of a sheet that someone slept on one side of. Though housekeeping was gone two ladies from front desk brought fresh sheets and made the bed. At this time I pointed out that the closet smelled of cigarette smoke and could use cleaning. I chose not to use the closet but suggested cleaning to them. The bathroom was luxurious, the only problem was that when toilet paper ran out that night I couldn't change the roll because of a lock blocking release of spindle. I found the mattress of king sized bed a bit soft for my back as well. I have experience better. Great presence weak maintenance here October 26, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Recommend this Hotel This was a disappointing stay. We stayed here on our way home while traveling up the east coast. After 7 nights of staying at other Holiday Inn's with good and or excellent service, the service and welcome of this Holiday Inn was very poor. As Priority Club members we may have been a little spoiled by the great service we got elsewhere and I guess we had some expectations that the staff just did not meet. First the place was very busy due to some little league baseball event in the area, so there were a lot of pre-teen and teens running around unsupervised, while this was not the hotels fault I would have expected the hotel to go overboard for make the stay of those not involved with the little league lodging as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I our case the staff did not do this. I even spoke about our great stays the previous 7-nights at other locations and even got a guest to sign up for the Priority Club because I am so impressed with the program. Unfortunately the staff did not even thank me or recognize our positive experiences elsewhere. Our room was a standard king room, but had only a walk in ADA shower. I called the desk and asked if we could be moved to a room with a tub and was told the hotel standard king rooms all have walk-in ADA showers only and the king rooms do not have tubs. I doubt very much this is true, but if it is I would advise Holiday Inn to see that this be changed. They also gave us a room in the middle of a floor, so with the little league teens staying all around us, the noise was ridiculous with loud voices running up and down the halls, slamming doors, loud TV's, etc... Again the hotel may not be able to control the action of others staying at the hotel, but they can do everything possible to make the stay of others as quiet and comfortable as possible. I would recommend that when this Holiday Inn has the little league groups staying there that they reserve the top floor and/or end rooms or suites for patrons that are not involved with the group. This was a very disappointing end to the otherwise good experience with Holiday Inn stays for 8 consecutive nights. October 13, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OASIS ON I-95 NC A full day of travel on I-95 on a Friday, is like going to war with full scale tension and stress. Our "Oasis" was the Holiday Inn at Rocky Mount NC, and sorely needed. With a second day of travel on I-95 ahead of us, our stay was all too brief but Holiday Inn Rocky Mount certainly provided the Oasis feeling. Superb accomodations and decor afforded the rest and relaxation we needed (two couples/two rooms). Thank you for the all too brief experience. October 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We have stayed at this location many times Last year we stayed at the Rocky Mount HI, I think 6 times. We request room 629 (I think). Below they ask "Reason for visit", the location almost exactly half way between our house and Hilton Head Island, SC where we go. The lounge is small, but nice, just outside the restaurant - lounge is a very nice small seating area with a fireplace; nice in colder weather. In warm weather we sit out on a little outside veranda by the lounge. I have one more thing to add; there are less expensive places to stay, but this is a top of the line property. The staff makes you feel welcome, and after driving for 6 - 8 hours or more I do not want a stuffy staff to screw up my relaxation. October 5, 2012
