Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Its been "just Ok" for years I've been staying here for years and its always been just ok, food is just ok, bartenders are fine, but sometimes you have to shout to them to break them away from long conversations. Breakfast staff could be more engaging. Service/atmosphere at front desk is usually very good. Rooms are just OK, not a lot of attention paid to detail, ie occasional peeling wallpaper, lack of outlets, outdated furnishings and bathroom. Stairwells are smelly. Surprised to hear the other review of no hot water, I had same issue last week-months after the other review. Mgr made a modest comp which was nice but I wonder if they're buying off the real problems that might cost much more. So as long as you're ok with just ok, like me, then this is fine for what you pay for this area. Heat and a/c always works and beds/bathroom are clean, mattresses are good too. Like other comments its a very convenient location next to airport and central LI. I think IHG Mgmt should stop applying bandaids here and start the phased ground up make over asap. February 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Breakfast Rooms are good. Internet was terrible! And menu should be revamped. So many business people eating at bar, but food is just ok. Too easy to walk across street to Applebee's. January 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty Bad Experience this time I stay at IHG hotels a lot every year and I just wanted to leave a quick note in reference to this Hotel. I went to the front desk on 7 different occasions to ask for something. I was promised that the request would be taken care of the next day NOTHING. I would go back to the front desk and would be told Quote " I don't know who would have told you that bur we can't not do that " I went to the front desk and ask about the TV not working and was told that - Quote " We just got a new Cable service and we don't get ABC NBC or CBS anymore " end of Quote. There was several 5 to 6 additional occasions, to be honest as a Platinum Plus Priority Club Member my eyes were really opened during this +/- 45 day stay. RM January 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Service The reason we booked at this hotel was because they said that they had a shuttle that would be able to take us to a venue for New Years Eve that is only 4miles away. When we got to hotel and asked about what time the shuttle would be able to get us to the venue they said that it was out of their jurisdiction, that we would have to take a cab there. We told them that we spoke with someone who told us that they had a shuttle that could take us there but that we would need to take a cab home because the shuttle was only available until midnight. They still refused to give us a shuttle. where is your customer service??? I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!!!!!! They didn't even have a manager on duty that we could speak with! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by value Having stayed in several motels on Long Island, most recently at the Crowne Plaza in Medford, yours is the first to not have a complimentary breakfast, and one of the MOST expensive, the main reason I would not recommend your particular facility. Wehave to return to Long Island again this month and in March and will make other arrangements. January 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty, Dark, Unfriendly Dirty Bathroom. Used shampoo/soap in the shower - no new shampoo bottle! Noisy ice machine. Pay for lounge. Complained twice and never got a phone call back from the GM. Don't go there if you want to sleep and be quiet/rested. Oh and $100 extra on my bill that I had to dispute. The management is to be fired in this place. January 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ROOM I WAS ASSIGNED ROOM 194. IT WAS ON THE FIRST FLOOR DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO A CORRIDOR ACCESS DOOR ACROSS FROM A SODA MACHINE WHICH CAUSED NOISE FROM MULTIPLE DOOR CLOSINGS, NOISE FROM CONVERSATIONS IN HALLWAY AND NOISE FROM THE USE OF THE VENDING MACHINE. AS A PRIORITY CLUB MEMBER,I WOULD EXPECT THAT TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN ASSIGNING ROOMS OF THIS CALIBER. I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. December 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank you After hurricane Sandy, the staff bent over backwards to ensure their guests were comfortable. We came without having reservations and the lady working the desk took my phone number and said she would call if and reservations were cancelled. True to her word she called. She took the extra effort to help my work partner and myself get a room. I have stayed here for the last four years and look forward to staying again. Only draw back is the washer and dryers are all inoperable. I am back for a second week and they are still all inoperable. November 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by After Wedding Stay and Breakfasst We stayed here after our Daughter's Wedding on November 2, 2012. Although a few days before they were without power, they managed to get it in time for us and our guests to stay. The Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Staff was cordial and helpful. The Breakfast the next morning was very good and the service was excellent. I would definitely stay here again myself and recommend it to anyone of my friends and relatives. The price was good for the room, except the rooms are due for an upgrade. The furniture is worn and the wood on them is getting worn out. November 8, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good at all The beds were very uncomfortable the phones didn't work, the fire alarm went off at 4:00 am and we couldn't call to see if it was real or not. Drunks roaming the halls all night. Me and my family chose the holiday in for its reputation. I think things have changed and not for the good. We paid for a nights sleep and didn't get one. Never again October 26, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bed was very comfortable The room was neat and clean. Bed was very comfortable. TV was good with great selection of channels. October 26, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by building The physical condition of the building left a great deal to be desired. The access doors to the outer room buildings were damaged and not secure. The keys to access the building did not open the doors to the building our room was located in requiring a long hike through wandering corridors of rooms. The elevator control panel in our building was falling out of the wall and in poor condition as was the elevator. We opted to use the stairs. As Priority Club members we were apparently entitled to a discount at breakfast but were never informed of this by the restaurant staff until the last day of our visit. Despite being at the hotel multiple days our room keys only worked one day at a time requiring a return visit to the front desk each evening on our return. Then it took staff trying to program several keys before we were given keys that would work, for part of one day. October 14, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding Weekend Problems There were many problems that we encountered when we arrived at the Holiday Inn for our wedding weekend. We did not receive the suite we had reserved because it was given to someone else, other reservations were not correct (given a king sized bed when 2 double beds were requested), hot water wasn't working on the day of the wedding, TV's were not working for the entire stay, locks on doors made my officiant/cousin late for pictures, our room "block" was spread out throughout the hotel. When each issue was brought to staff attention, it was a laidback attempt at giving excuses on how they weren't able to fix the problem. We were very disappointed in our stay, especially since our booking manager was so helpful and accommodating. October 13, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Understaffed and Overworked The staff that was working during our stay was terrific but, if you didn't have a lot of patience you would've become very frustrated as the few people working had to deal with many difficult situations. Kudo's to your staff! October 12, 2012
