Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pumble Hotel is run down but rates are for higher class facility.
The Rutland Holiday is a bit run down and in need of simple maintenance. The exterior was dirty and in need of repair. Simple things like the door handle had to be lifted to open the door rather than pushed downward. The coating on the porcelain tub was peeling and the tub had the wrong faucet handle on it. Carpets were musty and worn.
With the condition of the hotel and no complimentary breakfast built into the price, the value of this hotel is not worth the asking rates.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wgabnaro Great restaurant for breakfast and a great comfortable room.
My wife and I use this hotel to visit our daughter at the local Castleton State College. It is in a great location since the college ice rink she plays at is across the road from the hotel. For three years now the staff has gotten to know us and many do even remember our last name when we come in for our next stay.
We have seen many renovations done in the same time that the hotel has been through two changes of ownership. The updates were needed and each owner has done a very good job of doing what is important. We will miss coming here so much in the future, but I'm sure we will come back to visit the area and stay at our favorite Holiday Inn.

I was impressed and at times surprised at the level of service and the quality of the experience while staying at the Rutland-Killington Holiday Inn. Although not the greatest of hotel style bars and restaurants, the food and drink at the hotel were a welcome addition in a part of the country where hotels sorely lack extra conveniences and luxuries. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool and hotel grounds were easy to use and relaxing. If you are staying in the Rutland area I recommend the Holiday Inn, you couldn't do any better in terms of value for service and an assessable, central location.
