Location is good--a bit odd to get to, though, with the toll interchanges. Property is badly in need of rennovation--has large rooms that are OK, but the halls and common areas need a lot of work--decor seems to be from the 70's or 80's and show the wear and tear from this era as well. Pool is nice, but excercise room is poor, and restaurant is, well, very subpar. Staff is nice in general. When we were there, 2 of the 3 elevators were out of order, and quite honestly, based upon the condition of the third, I kind of expected to be stuck at some point in time on the one that was working.
Overall, if I were traveling on business and needed to spend a few hours in a convenient place, I would consider this, but for a leisure or family trip, probably not.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Saddle Brook the 07/25/13-07/27/13. The hotel room and the location were pretty good but it was the staff that made our trip. I wish I would have taken their names, they went above and beyond for us. When we travel to the area next time we will definitely be staying there!

This whole property is old, dark & dingy. Room was rather small. Bathroom was even smaller. Shower very difficult to enter when shower is on. Only 2 sets of towels provided. Customer elevators were out of service...had to wait for more than 10 minutes for service elevator. "Restaurant" was a joke....10 tables at best. Went for free breakfast buffet in morning and was seated at a table for 4. The table was apparently occupied just prior to my arrival and 2 places at the table were still dirty. Nobody was cleaning tables at all. It's somewhat unbelievable that this property has been able to maintain the Holiday Inn name. Usually Holiday Inn properties are held to a much higher standard than this hotel currently exhibits.

As always, we found our stay at the Saddle Brook Holiday Inn to be more than pleasant. The rooms are comfortable, clean, with enough outlets for multiple electronics.
The restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices, with a great wait staff.
Will definitely stay here again!!

This hotel is very run down. The elevator, common areas and the bathroom. The front desk seemed very stressed.
I am a platium member but did not recieve a welcome gift or even reconized. The condition of this hotel does not meet the expectation, of a 1 star hotel.

Myself and 4 other colleagues stayed at this hotel for a business trip to visit a customer for a upcoming project. We chose this establishment based on the proximity to the customer. We arrived on Tuesday 4/9/13 early evening. Upon arriving there was no one at the front desk to check-in. An employee presumably a maintenance person was standing at the end of the desk looking into the office. He acknowledged us but did not move to the office to alert someone that we were standing there. After about 5 minute I walked to the end of the desk a young lady came out of the office to finally assist us with checking-in. When I went to the end of the desk she was on a cell phone. We checked-in and proceeded to our rooms to settle in. We had shipped an expensive piece of test equipment to the hotel. I inquired with the same young lady if there was a package waiting for us. She looked at a small stack of mail and said that was all she had. I respectfully told hear the approximate size of the box and asked her to please check again. She went into the office and returned stating that it had not arrived. Concerned that it was lost in shipping I checked the UPS tracking and it indicated that the package was indeed delivered and a proof of delivery was available. I then respectfully requested that the front desk attendee check again for the package as it was signed. With a little bit of reluctance she did and returned with the package in just a short time from the office. I wondered to myself why she didn't find it before, but then returned to my room. Our travel team decided to eat at the restaurant at the bar in the hotel to prevent having to leave that evening. We met at the bar and the bartender was not efficient in taking orders nor customer service. She spent most of the time counting money from the cash register. Average time to fill a beer order was 12 minutes. The bar only had 10 guest and 5 of them were with our party. All parties were drinking beer and no one ordered mixed drinks. The food that we ordered was marginal at best. I personally ordered the eggplant ptarmigan that had an under cooked cold bed of noodles and unflavorful sauce. The nest example of poor service was during breakfast the next morning. The waitress asked if I wanted coffee. When I responded "Yes, Please." She pointed at a coffee carafe on the table and walked away. I was with two of the five in our party and they had already ordered, but I thought she would at least pour the first cup. This is common restaurant customer service. She then went over to the bar where the television was on a Spanish speaking channel and proceeded to watch it with another employee. Halfway into our meal she asked if we had meal tickets. We replied that we di and she waited for us to hand them to her instead of waiting until we had finished the me and brought our bill. I don't know if this is poor training or poor customer service skills, but I have never had that type of customer service from a restaurant and bar. The final act of poor service happened at check out. We needed to return the box we had shipped. We had arranged for a Prepaid UPS pickup. The box needed to be sealed but I did not pack any tape. The gentleman at the front desk said that he would gladly tape it up and make sure it was picked up. Today marked one week since we checked-out and the box had not arrived. I called the hotel and it was indicated that the box was still there. I inquired if UPS had been there since last Thursday and it was stated that they had been. I then just about dropped the phone and politely asked that they make sure they give the box to the driver the next time a delivery is made. Not trusting the hotel our shipping manager decided to contact UPS and scheduled a pick-up. TO give the hotel it's due the room was acceptable and the location to where the facility was is close. However, we will beginning the project in early July and regretfully will not be using this facility based upon the poor service that we received. We typically book 10 to 12 rooms based upon the size of the project for multiple extended stays.

Greeted by the hotel manager who had a blue vest with disgusting white salt/sweat stains all around the armpit. Room clean and nice. Alarm went off announcing that there was an emergency in the building and everyone needed to get out of the building and do not use elevator. Had to walk down 7 flights of stairs in a semi panic only to have the manager say that they were testing a new alarm system. No heads up and no apology. He acted like business as usual. Angel was at the desk in the morning and was very professional and friendly. Breakfast was good

When I arrived, the fire alarm was going off and no one was concerned.
I asked for a wake up call and it was never made.
I asked for a page to be scan to a thumb drive that I had, the staff could not or did not know how to do it.
The business center is minimal.
The pool was nice and warm. There is not a hot tub.

The staff are always willing to exceed my expectation while I stayed at the Holiday Inn. the location is great for travelers, and my wife and I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and that was very good. and the staff gave us a pass for a free breakfast, is that cool or what? I would defiantly return to this hotel, the furniture are a little dated, and the rooms could use some update but trust me the staff will made up for the building short comings.

The room is very dated and is in need of repair. The bathtub faucet would not shut off and was Running, not dripping so loudly you had to shut the bathroom door to sleep. It had been doing it for quite some time as the tub had rust stains.
The wall paper was falling off the wall in the bathroom and there was a chunk of drywall on the floor that had also been there for a long time.
On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the Flat screen Television was easy to see and use.

Having stayed at this location several times over the past year, I can only say that the staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. The rooms have always been clean and nicely appointed. Will stay here whenever I need to travel to the area!

This hotel was really nice and I would recommend it to anybody that is working or vacationing in the area. I liked the restaurant that was attached to the hotel. The food was good and in that area it was nice to be able to stay in to eat, the roads around there will confuse you if you weren't familiar with them. I will be back in the area for work again in the future and I'll choose to stay there again. If you are looking for a place to stay for a night or longer this hotel is worth staying at.

I arrived at the Holiday Inn at 11:15 p.m. on a cold night in February. It was about 30 degrees outside. My room was on the top floor and no one had bothered to turn on the heat or a light. It was uninviting to say the least.. After turning on the heat, I fell into bed completely dressed and wrapped in my coat. I was cold most of the night.
While the staff was nice, it amazed me that they didn't think of the two little things they could have done to may my arrival so much more pleasant.

I recommend this Holiday Inn as a nice place for a family to stay. The rooms were cleaned and attractive. The staff was friendly. The meal in the restaurant was good. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Hotel desperately in need of updating! Beyond that I was quite upset when I was gone all day from 7am to 4:30pm and I come back to an untouched room. 20 minutes later the housekeeper just walks into the room. No knock. No notice.
Fair price for location. On site restaurant/bar is convenient with good prices and generous portions. Don't go in a rush though.

Everything about the stay could have been better, but met true expectation of an older holiday inn. TV remote was missing batteries, phone in room didnt work and tub dripped. The leaking water in tub seemed to have been dripping for years based on the staining inside the tub. Stale smoke smell in non-smoking room.

The staff are always very friendly at this hotel, but on my last stay, upon entering the lounge/restaurant area, I thought a door had been opened as it was about 50 degrees in there. After sitting and speaking with other people at the bar, they advised it was that cold all week and no one could tell them why. I had thought I was going to have dinner there, but decided to go someplace where it was warmer than 50 degrees. Also, the breakfast area the next morning was the same way, it is located right off the lounge. The TV at the lounge also had no cable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 One of the cheapest hotel within 20 miles distance from Manhattan
It is One of the cheapest hotel within 20 miles distance from Manhattan. That's the main reason I chose here. There is a NJ bus connecting it to Manhattan, but you need to walk 10 minutes with your luggage which was not fun. Overall experience was good with complimentary breakfast honored by the receptionist.

I would like to thank the staff at Saddle Brook Holiday Inn for their professionalism and compassion during my stay through Hurricane Sandy. They tried to keep the guests informed of the situation at hand. I would personally like to thank Christina, Tiffany, Dwight, Ricky and D'nish, when the power was out they made sure everyone was safe in the building. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff needs some training on how to welcome guests. We waited to check in without being acknowledged by the desk agent. The appearance of the staff was not up to par. They did not seem to be enjoying their jobs. The complimentary breakfast
was acceptable and the service satisfactory.

My white bath tub was two shades of brown. the carpeting in the room had a big rip in it. One phone did not work so rather than replace it they just removed it. Restaurant service was very slow. The bed needed to be replaced.

This is the first time I've ever taken the trouble to write a review on a hotel stay and I'm only doing it because the hotel and it's staff deserve it. The staff were the friendliest, most helpful and knowledgable staff of any hotel I have stayed it.
The small things make a big difference and I had numerous experiences that show the hotel in a good light - the swimming pool is supposed to close at 10pm but they don't object to you staying in for an extra 15-20 mins; the bar man throws in an extra helping of vodka without measuring the top of the measure with a slide rule; the printing in the (ahem!) business centre is complimentary (and is not abused); the courtesy bus was always available (and warranted a decent tip to the drivers); the guy at check-in threw in a few complimentary breakfast vouchers, etc.
Because of all of the above I was very happy to always eat at the hotel, buy from the small snack shop and reception and tip generously. Too many hotels try to hit you for every charge and that type of short-termism is counter productive in the long term. This was my second stay at this hotel and the only reason I went back was because of the "small" things. I will stay there again, even though its location is not great and there is nothing within walking distance (but that's not their fault).
Top marks to the Holiday Inn.

Allen you are an angle.... what a great humor he had. what a awsom person picked for the front desk... its the girls with no resveration. I just took off with one of my house keepers keep on driving ended up in Saddle Brook NJ all the way from michigan took off for 5 days.we ended up at this great place i decided to stay one more night. Allen got me to all our destenations with print out or helpful hints we had a ball the only thing i miss he would of made a awsom tour guide i would of loved to have him show us new york just ask a local they know it inside an out people were so nice i never worried about our safety you were like one of the family. thank you again cant wait to see you soon.
