I really don't understand the negative reviews because my stay was great. The staff was courteous and the rooms clean and comfortable. There was one little hiccup that was quickly corrected by the staff. I would've liked a free meal or something for my trouble, but that's ok. The hotel is expanding but the construction in no way affected my stay. The parking area is gated and secure and guarded 24-7. I only ate breakfast at the restaurant and can vouch for the excellent variety and freshness. The hotel is easy to get to and close to the highway. I will be traveling to Salamanca again next month and have already booked my nights at the Holiday Inn.

The hotel is actually not that bad, but it was not very clean, the shades did nor work, the light switches are in bad conditions, A/C works bad, etc... it makes it worst if you think hotel is about 4-5 years old only.
I am sure there are not many options in the area.
The staff is super friendly. No complain about staff.

I have been staying at this hotel since it opened. The staff is friendly and service is good. The rooms are falling into disrepair, shower heads are plugged, air conditioner was not working well and Internet and electronic amenities are inconsistent at best. I will be looking into staying in another hotel on next months trip to Mexico.

This is by far one of the worst Holiday Inns I have ever stayed at. The internet was not usable for more than 2 minutes without having to reconnect.
Laundry service was pathetic at best. By 9PM that evening I went down to the front desk to get my laundry.
Breakfast was barely edible.
Service personnel did not seem to care.
I was never given credit for s stay or point through priority club.
The best part of the stay was departure!!!!!!!!

1. The room was rate as a exceutive suite and there is many improving points to get this category.
a) The use of the smart TV is not so clear.
b) The TV it self is not located properly is too far if you want to see from the bed or the sofa and is too close if you need to use de computer.
c) The Jacuzzi has a poor maintenance.
d) In general de layout of the room is not confortable.

Great rooms, nice, clean and comfortable. Smart technology included is awesome. On the downside, our room was not ready for check-in by 2:30 pm and the water in the pool was freezing cold .
Railroad track is 2 blocks away and you hear train noise in the middle of the night

Salamanca is a small but quickly growing town with a 9 story holiday inn centered in a city where multiple large automotive facilities are under construction.
You would expect quality service for the business traveller.
The resturaunt does not open until 7AM and then is ill prepared for the volume of people that need to eat and hit the road.
Internet service was slow when it worked and connection inconsistent. As a business class hotel in todays society internet access is a critical requirement not a wish list. I checked in on saturday and when i checked out on wednesday the internet connection was still not consistently available.
As a comparison the holiday inn express in Silao a much smaller city has offered and delivered consistent quality service for years and for the remainder of my stay in the area.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tapatingo Automated hotel system turned tv on every 45 minutes!!!
Although this HI is more modern than others in the chain in Mexico, the Dorothy hotel automation system kept turning the tv on to the welcome screen every 45 minutes, all night long. I called reception and they said that yes there's a problem with the system but there's nothing they could do and there are no other rooms available. The tv was mounted into the wall and could not be unplugged. At check-out I asked for the manager, who wasn't in, and then asked to be contacted, which I wasn't. No offer to make it up to me for being woken up every 45 minutes nor a sincere apology. Instead an excuse that there's nothing they could do. Another factor which is impossible to fix, but the train track that runs behind the hotel with the corresponding crossing causes the train horn to blast through your room at all hours of the night. Very nice rooms but if you plan on sleeping at night, NOT THIS HOTEL!!!
