Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, bad location I stay in hotels 3 weeks each month, mostly Holiday Inns and though this location was very clean and nicely decorated I will not be back. The area that it is located in is surrounded by many other hotels, but no restaurants within several miles. There is a restaurant in the hotel but the service is terrible and the menu is very limited. The rooms were comfortable but the heating/air unit was regulated and would kick on and off very loudly each night, which is a huge problem for a light sleeper. The hotel staff was very friendly but the staff at the restaurant was less than par. Next time I will stay in a better location with more food options nearby. October 20, 2013

The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds and pillows. The shuttle is fast and convenient to/from the airport. I have eaten both breakfast and dinner in the on-site restaurant and the food has been surprisingly good. The staff is friendly and always eager to assist. I will continue to use this facility whenever business requires me to be in Salt lake City. I was nicely rewarded for my loyalty and Platinum Club membership with a free upgrade to a very nice , large room with a living room area and fireplace...unfortunately, a little to warm yet to use the fireplace, but thanks you anyway! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent customer service I would recommend this hotel as I felt the staff went out of their way to help us. We needed to return our car to the airport and despite the hotel not having a shuttle driver until later in the day they organised for a shuttle from a neighbouring hotel to collect us. They also only had coffee making facilities in the room and being British we needed our tea so James on reception went to the restaurant to get us each a free cup of english tea. The room was great, had a fridge in the room and pay per view and a very fancy alarm clock! The bed was super comfortable and the proximity to the airport was a real plus. Also we got discount in the restaurant as we're IHG rewards members. September 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our stay 9/18 & 9/23 My husband and I stayed at the hotel coming in and traveling out of Salt Lake. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised how delicious our meals were. The portions were big and the prices were were not expensive. The wait staff was very friendly both nights. The shuttle driver back to the airport kept us entertained. I would Ike to recommend this hotel if you are traveling into Salt Lake. September 25, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok for one night We were stuck in Salt Lake due to missed connection. This was the second hotel we stayed at, the first should be condemned. Needless to say, we were tired and grumpy when we arrived. Hotel staff did not thank me for being a platinum member or offer a free upgrade or any other perk. Room was okay...but at least it was clean, Breakfast the next morning was on par for this level hotel, not great, but not awful. September 23, 2013

They were very kind and always asked how the room was and if there was anything they could do for me. I have to say the attention and the clean and quality of the rooms was top notch. I've stayed in fancy hotels but I have to say my stay rocked!!! I reserved a king bed and because I'm a platinum member..I got a free upgrade to the king suits..and let me tell you..the room was awesome...my only regret was that I wasn't staying there more nights! When I stay for 2 weeks the choices are boring or cost too much $15 for a movie I can goto for less. I think the Chain is going Downhill. The Staff were nice but when I complained about the Air sounding like it was falling out the window nothing was done. September 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient but not great We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and convenient. Firstly, the shuttle driver from the airport was a very unfriendly man. Granted, it was around 10 PM, but I would expect at least a smile or hello. Check in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. Upon entering the room we turned down the thermostat as low as it would go (pre-programmed to 66). It was a very warm night. The air would turn on for a few minutes and then turn off. I would say that the room never got below 75. We called the front desk and they informed us that since it was so late on a Saturday night, that there would not be a serviceman in until the next day and they did not have another room for us. In the morning I told the front desk the same thing and got an apology, but there was an overall lack of concern. Lastly, we should have researched this better, but you could hear the freeway traffic all night long. It was loud. August 29, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Food service was unacceptable We were aware that the kitchen was being repaired as they had a reduced menu posted,however they should have closed it. As it was it took over 45 minutes to get a simple hamburger. Our waitress disappeared during the process so I asked the other waitress to find out the problem. It turns out the reason was our waitress was cooking our burgers. She was doing the best she could as the cook had departed (quit). The restaurant manager, we found out the next morning, wasbeing Interviewed for the hotel manager's position. You can bet we won't be returning to this hotel. The hotel should have made other arrangements to see that we had some option to eat..UNACCEPTABLE IN ALL RESPECTS ! It was late and we were exhausted after a full day of travel. August 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by treated like ambassadors My family and I were tired after driving from Georgia to California while stopping at a hotel which I want mention their names gave us a room that the manager later admitted he knew it was dirty, it was missing towels and face cloths for which we had to go and retrieve from the front desk. Eventually they gave us a reduced price the next morning. However when we got to Fresno California around 9pm and started looking for a hotel we decided to give Holiday Inn a try in Madera. The clerk was friendly and excited to see us, she encouraged me to sign up for their points program. The room was huge suite, because we needed two queen beds but we were offered the only room available was a king and a pull out couch. However as we traveled back to Georgia we began looking only for Holiday Inns. The nicest one was in salt lake city for the same price we paid in Madera but far more plush with real breakfast brought to table by a waitress. When we arrived at night we ordered a pizza from their inside bar the kitchen was closed due to early renovations but the bartender went out of her way to contact the kitchen staff and got us a hot pizza now that's service in Salt Lake City. The other Holiday inns have the same breakfast choice which was ok but the eggs remind me of Army MRE's. Some Hotels were a challenge to find because some are a mile or two from the exits or nestled behind other hotels. As a family of color my experience over the years at some hotels have been very negative and demeaning but for the first time at the Holiday Inns we felt like humans yes ambassadors. Mr. Sal was great in the town of Boonville, MO. Thanks for the wonderful experience. Yes we made it back home safely with smiles to last a life time. August 15, 2013

When I returned key, a girl said they don't have my receipt yet and they will send to me later. One day later, I called for the receipt, another guy said I haven't checked out yet. One week later, I haven't received my receipt and I was over charged for two days. July 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk When we entered our room the toilet was running and couldn't get it to stop. Called the front desk asked me to hold while they were calling someone to fix the problem. After 10 min I hung up. My wife and I figured out the problem with the toilet; the handle was cracked and broken. We fiddled with the dandle and finally figured out how to stop it from running on. Unfortunately even with our "fix" it still took many flushes to clear the toilet. I then called the front desk again, spoke with someone different, told them the problem, which they said would be fixed the next day. When we came back the night we found the handle still broken and the toilet running again. So we fiddled with it again and got it to stop. At chech out I notified another staff member about the toilet problem. Hopefully they really did tell someone this time. The staff seemed able to assure me the issue was important to them by words, unfortunately your staff at the slc airport west facility did not come lose to meeting our expectations. July 20, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor service had to wait for over an hour for the shuttle to pick me up didn't get offered a up grade even through the Hotel was almost empty. The bar and restaurant closed a half hour early and I was unable to get food or something to drink. But if I was picked up at the airport at a reasonable time that wouldn't have been a problem.
