The guests in the lounge area pick up on this and made the stay even more memorable. I travel nationally and stay at all of the hotels but this little gem was simply terrific. I loved the steak salad as much as the person serving it. I'll go out of my way to come back! This place is new with great management. December 9, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, comfortable bed The hotel was good, but the entry drive was very hard to negotiate from Redland road. It is located on a blind hill and very difficult to enter and exit in rush traffic. And the Redland exit is very hard to see from US 281. I had reserved 2 rewards nights, but had to leave after the first night. I asked the desk clerk if I could get the rewards points reinstated for the 2nd night, but she seemed very disinterested in trying to do that for me. November 8, 2013

The staff took very good care of us......Thelma, Arturo and the front desk staff "bent over backwards" to ensure every need was met. Thank you all so much and I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area, as well as other Theodore Roosevelt alumni having their reunions. October 22, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rewards Member MRR and Policy I truly enjoyed my rewards points stay, but it was tarnished by the hold placed on my charge card. The hold that was placed was without my consent or my knowledge. The IHG policy of placing a hold on charge cards without the consent or knowledge for what I might purchase at the hotel is unacceptable with me. What would keep IHG from holding $500 or $1000 per day without my consent or knowledge, which would mean that I would reduce my stay or not be able to stay at all. I will not be staying at an IHG facility in the future unless forced to. August 16, 2013

We came in late and left early, but other guests seemed to be enjoying the pool and outdoor lounge area. Parking was well lit and easily accessed. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff We stayed at this Holiday Inn because of its proximity to a wedding event center. There was a large contingency of our family at this facility. I observed a front desk associate (male) rudely stare down my son (who was merely entering the establishment) as if looking down on him. I observed the staff for a bit longer and found his manners to be lacking. Regardless if he is addressing an adult or child, they are guests/patrons and should be treated with respect. Later on that day I ran into the same staff member who could barely muster the words, "thank you" when we asked what floor he was going to and pushed the button for him. I've never seen a hotel staff member more standoffish. I regularly stay at Holiday Inns, Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton's. This was by far my worst experience. Last issue, I called over 2 months in advance to request an upgrade to a suite and the staff member who answered stated that she could not give me one, when one was available. No reason, other than she could not do it. July 26, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and midnight disaster of noise and commotion My wife and I were awakened at 2350 Fri night 12 Jul 13....our room 439 .... just below on 3d floor a team of youngsters (baseball or basketball) arrived and caused ruckus until 0120. I made 3 calls to Shelley and also talked with some of these kids on 3d floor - TWICE I asked them to quiet down and behave or I was going to have the police talk with them. A dreadful experience of either parents that didn't care, coaches that didn't care or hotel employee(s# that couldn't control this mass of midnight arrivals. I had callback from Ashley with a sincere apology for all of the late night disturbance. Gold Priority Member .... holding 87,212 points and Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express my favorites of the IHG gang. Oh and upon check-in I asked for a bottle of water and got it.....but none for my wife as we were told 1 #one) per room...since when??? Never a check in like that July 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best In Every Category After reading the reviews I booked a three night stay for me and my four year old son so we could go to my niece's graduation. After driving for fifteen hours straight, I was beat. When we arrived at the hotel, the people at the front desk welcomed us with warm smiles and congratulations for taking on such a long drive. We were given bottled waters and granola bars. It was something I'm sure they've done before, but it made all the difference. The reservation agent must have told them of our travel plans; how cool was that. From there it only got better. Each and every person there always wore a smile every time we passed. The room was super clean and modern. The restaurant was quaint and modern, and the food was tasty. They even made my waffle in the shape of Texas. My son had to be dragged from the restaurant (there was a TV in our dining booth). The pool was very nice and the lobby and hallways were always clean. Like everyone else has said, the roads to get to the hotel are somewhat confusing, even for the GPS, but this hotel is worth a few turnarounds. July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very new, very nice property Rooms and Lobby were very nice and cozy. 2 things that would have greatly enhanced my experience: 1) Recognize your elite status patrons. If we are Platinum members then you can bet that we stay in hotels about as often as we stay in our own beds. We know the process and perks almost as well as you do (we also are more likely to Yelp our experiences if you irritate us). Something as small as $.25 bottle of water in a paper sack would have been 100x nicer than what I received as recognition during my stay. 2) Move your sign. It's located after your last entrance on a busy one-way highway. I saw two other guests overshoot the hotel entrance. You have a nice property in a growing area and a ton of potential. The staff was wonderful and we felt like we were on a second honeymoon. We have been married 37 years and it will be 38 on July 27, 2913. So sad that our stay was a bad experience,it started out okay but went downhill after that. We checked in to a nice room,very clean...Then we came back the first night to people lounging on the couches ,one sleeping.The next day we came back to the hotel very late at night and their was someone asleep with blankets on the couch,looked pretty trashy,like you would expect at a motel and no one at the front desk. Our next day we came back to change clothes for our nephews graduation ,first we could not get in our room,so my husband went down to the front desk,they said they would reset,did not work ,back downstairs,new keys, did not work back downstairs,the clerk came up this time and said he would have it fixed before we returned,which did Not happen so my husband made more trips to the lobby,this is crazy,why should a paying guest be put through all this ??? We also had no TV the second night and third morning ,which the clerk said well no signal just means you have to change buttons on the side,who would know this ?No help from Front Desk when we checked and we explained our woes,the two ladies just basically ignored us,just with the comment well we will have to fix the lock???Is that good customer service ???????? Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Suprisingly disaapointed First, this was the first stay at a Holiday Inn property (in many stays) where I was not given my Platinum Level Priority Club room upgrade, despite booking my stay and requesting the upgrade a couple of months in advance. I wasn't even acknowledged or greeted as a Platinum Level member much less a Priority Club member. The hotel had a motley crew of ghetto types staying there who created levels of noises and messes that went beyond acceptable and tolerable. Their trash was left in the lobby and on the 2nd floor balcony for much longer than it should have been, which isn't a compliment for housekeeping or management. Our first night at the hotel bar was an enjoyable and pleasant experience thanks to the "blonde" bartender, (didn't get her name), but the next night's experience (dark-haired bartender) convinced us to take our bar business to the Angry Elephant down the hill from the hotel the 3rd night when we saw that she was working again. We make the trek to SA 3-4 times a year and we usually stay here or the Hyatt Place down the street. We will be committing all of our future business to the Hyatt, where we've never had a bad experience. Sorry Holiday Inn but your staff failed in virtually all areas! June 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic hotel! Met with hotel staff in Sept '12 to reserve 25+ rooms for daughter's wedding May 4, 2013. Also reserved a ballroom for brunch on Sunday. All of our family and friends from out of town stayed at this hotel along with the bride's immediate family. Everyone had only great things to say about their stay. The staff handled all the reservations and the brunch was wonderful. We used the 2nd floor patio twice and it was a great place to visit with family and friends. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a wedding in the area or on vacation. Thank you to everyone for making our experience at the hotel a memorable one. May 17, 2013

I went to front desk to ask if they had cameras outside and the front desk girl said she would have to check with manager and about 5 minutes later she came back and said no. The manager never came out to talk to me or the other individuals that had their cars broke into in the parking lot. I didn't expect anything from him/her other than acknowledgement and and offer to assists in any way that they could. May 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Location Restaurant Needs Help Stayed here on a family trip recently because it was convenient to where we needed to be for things. For the most part, everything was ok except for the service in the restaurant. The lady serving forgot part of our orders, and even after reminding her, we still did not receive part of the order. The service was entirely too slow, however, I don't know if I can blame her completely, as I think she was doing everything herself, including meal prep! They tell you at the front desk that you will receive a discount at the restaurant if you show your room key. I can't imagine anyone actually going out of their way to come dine here if they weren't staying at the hotel. My recommendation if you stay here, eat elsewhere! There are tons of great restaurants close within a few minutes drive. May 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by no tv, no refrig. air cond went out nite 2 requested room w. refrig, as had med that had to stay cool arrived loc tv would not work, refrig missing from rood as it was late told clerk to have it fix in the morning called hotel at 10 am the next morning to be sure they did not forget. arrived back in room at 930 pm room in same comd front desk wanted to move us to a std room with no refrig. told them that would not help. then air went out at 2 am upon check out they cut 40 dollars off bill we had to move to a new hotel and the money did not off the convience and trouble we have stayed in your hotel since our son moved to san antionia and holiday inns all over for pleasure and work\ but will change after this experience b.t. simmons April 30, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice but NOT relaxing! This property is a nice, comfortable hotel in a convenient location. I booked this hotel in part because of the indoor pool and jacuzzi. My husband was looking forward to some time in the jacuzzi to alleviate some of his arthritis pain. Unfortanately, there were many (10-12) unsupervised children in the pool/jacuzzi area despite posted warnings to the contrary and the staff did nothing to address this. Needless to say, our stay was less than the relaxing! I recommend this property if you don't care about noisy, unsupervised children running free. April 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Great location if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of downtown and the airport. but still within a short drive to both and also very accessible to Fiesta Texas and Seaworld. Exactly what we were looking for. plus many restaurants nearby and also department stores for those things you forgot back home. In addition the hotel is super clean, the rooms are perfect size and the staff was outstanding, every single one of them. Was always greeted with a smile and a nice "hello", plus very helpful. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable. Will be back when we return to San Antonio. . March 29, 2013
