Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Business Conference Travel This was a great place for a conference that I recently attended. It is on the River Walk. Just remember to go left when leaving the back of the hotel to find great restaurants and beautiful sights. Also, I recommend taking a River Taxi ride at the outset to familiarize yourself with the area. All of the hotels in this area appear to have been built in the 70's, but my room was clean and comfortable. The 16th floor has skyline views of San Antonio. It was avery pleasant stay. Rust-stained battered ceiling. Toilet paper thinner than Chinese restaurant serviettes. Suite living room: Torn carpet and damaged carpet runner. Dented fridge October 21, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but could be better. My hotel stay was quite interesting. The first room I was assigned was already occupied so that was a little scary and awkward. However once I got to my room it was ok. As someone mentioned previously the sliding door that leads to the balcony does not close properly and so you hear a lot of noise. Also I couldn't help, but notice I could hear a lot above me and on my floor. The food at breakfast was incredibly tasty. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. I think the hotel was good, but the property definitely needs some updates. Simple things like the ceiling was starting to peel. The rooms usually are cleaned pretty late in the day. October 19, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs upgrading When you stay on the riverwalk you expect a little more and the rooms really need upgrading, the bathrooms are very outdated. The lobby is ok, the bistro is great and the location is awesome. I've been staying at this hotel for years because of its convienence in proximity to the things I have to do in downtown San Antonio and the rooms haven't changed. October 17, 2012

Allowed outside noise to enter room and also created humidity problems (happened to be a humid climate at the time); and (2) HDTV did not work properly. Constant problems with sound and reception on most channels. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. October 17, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and quiet This was a first time visit. The hotel is on the quiet end of the riverwalk which was nice. The riverwalk area was great and the resturants in the area were good too. The hotel breakfast was good, servers were superb. The lunch was good and dinner was okay too. The new renovation will bring the hotel up to excellence with the rooms etc..When we come back we would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk. The water taxi's stop at this hotel which is convienient. October 17, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Like Sleeping in a Jet Engine I understand the hotel is scheduled for a renovation very soon - but not soon enough. My room was on the 21st floor and was falling apart. The faucet in the tub wouldn't shut off - had to close the bathroom door to silence the water noise. The front sliding door to the balcony wouldn't close either. About a 1/2 inch gap at the top and bottom of the frame. The AC compressor from the hotel next door made the noise in the room equal to the aft section of coach on a jet plane. I probably averaged 3 hours of sleep a night due to the noise. I am a Platinum Member of the Priorty Club rewards system and I frequently choose to stay at IHG hotels. I would recommend the chain of hotels, but I would not stay at this hotel until the remodel is complete. October 16, 2012

Room was very nice but I would have enjoyed one with a balcony over the river much more. Only "problem" I had was with the wake up call. Requested it twice and never received one. It was a ships reunion for me and was made much nicer by the attentiveness of the staff. October 12, 2012

I was there for a reunion and the hotel was reasonable, well situated, fairly good food and the staff was friendly. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by On the Riverwalk The room was comfortable and the hotel is in a perfect location. We were able to walk to The Alamo and the mall within 10 minutes. The room was clean, but when we arrived the pillows were not on the bed and we did not have any towels. The staff was great and quick with bringing up fresh towels though. Eric at the front desk was also very kinds and helpful. It wasn't the fanciest hotel, but for the price it was worth the stay. October 12, 2012
