Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Hotel Choice for SAN This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. As a Platinum member I was upgraded on my first stay and the room design was fantastic. The second stay I was in a regular room, and it was of course smaller but very nice as well. The little extras in borh rooms such as reading lights at the bed, ambient lighting above the headboard, great lighting in bathroom, soft water in the shower. I also enjoy having the restaurant and bar off the lobby. The only complaint I have is that I checked in early and added by mom to the room so she would be able to get the key and go to the room until I got there from work. Well after ensuring that all she had to do was show her ID and they would give her the key. The front desk clerk gave her a hassle and they had to call me to authorize her to get a key. This was a waste of my time and unnecessary since I already had checked in and added her to the room.. so better training of the front desk is recommended. March 12, 2014

Have stayed at this location a few times because it was new and my husband is on cemo drugs and needs things to be clean as your stay extends the quality goes down this was the 2 time our reservation was messed up the person at the desk said we never had one and when we showed the number they accused it being through a 3rd party after the first night they start declining on cleaning the room housekeeping comes and ask 3or 4 times a day do u want your room cleaned and then only pulls covers up on bed try and up rate as we stay try and get breakfast wish I would have taken photos March 7, 2014

Booked through third party, tried to book direct for the same price and was connected to central reservations with no help. Would rather give you the money direct. Wish management could take care of a repeat customer directly. I am a Priority Member, but that does not seem to matter at this property. February 23, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hard bed and expensive breakfast I am usually a big fan of Holiday Inn. I did not enjoy my stay here. The beds were very hard, and there is some type of ambiant light behind the headboards that I couldn't find a switch to turn off. So, I had to sleep in a lit room on a hard bed. The breakfast was standard and had a good selection, but I had to pay $12 for my son to eat breakfast. I guess only one guest per room gets breakfast included with their room. I also overheard the wait staff explain to someone that there is no free coffee to take back to the room even if they bring their own cup. Over all the facilities and people are nice and clean. It is just not a comfortable place to stay. February 19, 2014

So we had decided to make that our hotel when ever we would go see her. BUT this time Arron the clerk told very cold and impersonaaly that we didnt pay enough to get the free breakfast. I even said how much more do i have to pay ,but he didnt want to work with in any way . COLD and UNCARING IMPERSONAL. So needless so say we will be looking for a different hotel near UTSA , I told himwe were Priority Club Members February 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience, Beautiful Property! I want to start by saying this was a beautiful, new, well designed property. Unfortunately the the restaurant needs much help. During dinner i tried to order a soup, but they were all out. I asked for Chicken strips but they were all out. Dessert, was also sold out. I spoke with a manager and assured me it was a fluke and that they are usually in stock, and he greatly apologized and asked me to give them another try. The next morning I decided to order off the menu, but when my breakfast arrived the potatoes were swimming in a pool of grease and the omlet was not what I had asked for. At this point I was also fustrated because they do not carry grapefruit juice which is standard in any hotel. I was told they only carry apple, and OJ. I sent the food back and decided on fast food drive through. The soda vending machine on my floor was out of stock on several options as well. When i got home I realized i had left a dress shirt on the bed. After waiting several days and leaving several messages I finally got to speak to a manager who said they did not find my shirt. I will not be returning, regardless of how nice this property is. February 12, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor breakfast service / Poor check in Breakfast was a huge dissatisfier. It was supposed to be included in our room rate and it wasn't. Waitress service was very poor and the cook was brand new and did a really poor job on preparing the meal. We had to wait 10 minutes before the front desk person came back to the front desk to check us in. February 9, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice rooms This is the second time I've stayed in this specific Holiday Inn. The rooms are very clean and the staff have always been very accommodating both times. The bathrooms are nice which is important to me. The breakfast does not automatically come with this room like at some other hotels so double check when you book. The hotel sits right next to a SAMs club so the swimming pool is situated next to their parking lot. We used it last time and did not really affect the experience; it's just not that pretty. I always take some white noise maker with me when I travel to sleep with but did not have it with me this time. It was quiet in the hotel overnight but in the morning you can hear doors shutting down the hallway. If you don't want to get woke up by doors at 6 or 7 in the morning just take a fan with you to block it out. I like this hotel obviously or I wouldn't have booked it again. February 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by San Antonio's best kept Secret! We had a 4 day Scrapbooking event at this Hotel. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very accomodating! The meeting room is the best kept secret in San Antonio! The space, lighting and comfortable chairs created a very enjoyable experience. The air conditioning was superb!! There were many outlets, strategically placed in the floor, which were more than adequate for all of our electronics. We enjoyed a dinner buffet that was fabulous!!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rewards stay I used rewards points to bring my family to San Antonio - we rented 4 rooms. The restaurant staff was exceptional. They were even welcoming on Christmas day! Noah asked us to come and say bye before we left. We actually had our family Christmas in the lobby complete with Christmas carols and presents. The friendly staff made us feel right at home. Only down side was on occasion one or more the rooms did not get housekeeping, but when notified they promptly got all the towels/linens we needed. I would definitely return. As a rewards member I feel IHG is generous with the upgrades when using points that is one of the reasons I utilize IHG as often as I do. Reward rooms were all upgraded to suites. Good quiet location right next to Walmart and some basic restaurants. Good breakfast and quiet bar. Dinner is decent. Good service in the restaurant by knowledgeable young men working the evening shift. Nice rooms - possibly because it's a new property. Overall, a very comfortable stay. A hidden gem in SA. Very satisified with the overall experience, showed up late , greeted as a platinum member, upgraded my room and a breakfast voucher. Will stay again, the little things are the ones that make the most difference. I stay in hotels 2-3 days a week, want it to be the most bang for my buck in a clean enviroment. October 28, 2013
