Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well above average I stay here very often. The staff is outstanding. The rooms and the hotel is very clean, comfortable and very well maintained. The value is very good. The only areas in need of improvement are the cable tv service, the guest business center and the laundry room facilities. The cable tv service needs to be upgraded to digital. The flat screen tvs are nice and HD compatible, although the service is only analog. The guest business center has very old computers and should be upgraded, it would be a minor cost. And finally the laundry room only has 2 washers and dryers and it seems that there is always one of the washers or dryers out of service. Even with these minor issues I still am very satisfied overall with the hotel. March 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will never stay at a Holiday Inn again I am a frequent traveler and this was my first time staying at a Holiday Inn. My daughter's soccer team was playing at State Cup nearby and our team stayed at the Holiday Inn San Diego - North Miramar. We knew the hotel was sold out as we had booked some of the last rooms available. On our first night, we went to the Spiral Lounge and Restaurant to eat. We were a large party and overwhelmed the poor waiter who appeared to be the only one working in the restaurant besides the cook. It took a very long time to get our food but we thought maybe they didn't staff up because they weren't expecting to have many people in the restaurant (even though they knew the hotel was sold out. The following day, while at the pool there was a family who was looking for some towels and they were told by the staff that they had already brought out 200 towels for the day and weren't bring anymore. Later that evening, a couple of us went to the lounge to have a drink. We noticed there was another large group in the restaurant and a few others throughout the restaurant and lounge. Once again, there appeared to be only one waiter having to take care of the whole place (the poor guy from the night before). The following morning, we went down to the breakfast buffet at 9:20am. The buffet was supposed to be open until 10:00am. When we got there, I asked if they had anymore cereal and was told they were out. We then noticed there was no more bacon and most of the juice was gone. I asked a server if they were going to be bringing out anymore bacon and was rudely told "We aren't bringing anything else out. People are only supposed to eat once." I said, "We just got here. This is the first time we are eating. It's only 9:20am and the buffet is supposed to be open until 10:00am." She just looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and said, "We can't bring anything else." On top of the horrible service, the beds were very hard and the pillows were lumpy. I am the travel manager for our team and selected this hotel based on the recommendation from the tournament. So I felt really bad for all of the families as they complained they were just as uncomfortable in their beds as I was and were frustrated by the fact that the hotel didn't plan their staffing or food for a sold out weekend. We were all very disappointed by the responses we received from various staff members as they didn't seem to care about our experience. We have many personal family trips and team trips coming over the next several years and none of them will include another stay at a Holiday Inn. February 4, 2013

Deanna at the front desk was accommodating, in getting me a room and all of the other staff were kind and helpful from when i checked in until i left. My issue was the bed. The room was clean except when I stepped into it i smelled a mildew order. i walked around sniffing for where the smell was coming from and it ended up being the bedding and pillows. When i arrived, I was functioning on minimal sleep and was so exhausted that i needed to take a nap. i took a nap and then went out for the evening. it was a long evening and although the bedding had its issue, i had to go to sleep. my son on the other had chose to sleep on the couch because he could not bear the smell ~ he is 6'1". i didn't want to make waves though. Subsequently, later the next day i had a sore throat. in the future, i will probably mention the issue, and more than likely bring lysol and/or my own bedding. i should have written sooner, and i had every intention to do so. but i am writing now, and i hope this assist you with your quality control. like i said initially, the overall stay was great ~ especially the staff. i lived in mira mesa for thirteen years until recently, and never had the opportunity to stay at this holiday inn. i am more than likely to return as well as recommend it to others. thank you for your hospitality gia ~.~ December 14, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK, but should have been better. Pros: The room and hotel in general were comfortable, clean, and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good with friendly service. Cons: The elderly lady who checked us in took a very long time to perform this simple job, even though we were the only customers. I'd hate to see her deal with a bus-load of tourists ! The TV didn't work, and neither did the phone next to the bed. We complained and these were fixed the next day. December 2, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surf Cup Thanksgivng at the Holiday Inn Miramar Everyone in our group agreed that the hotel rooms, hotel amenities were are well maintained and easily accessible. The staff that we interacted with were very courteous, professional and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and had a good variety of nutritious choices including fresh fruit and, there was something for everyone (even our most picky eaters). Thank you again, we really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Miramar. We will definitely be in contact with you for future tournaments in your area. November 30, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always stay here I have stayed at this hotel for business more than 2 weeks out of every month since December of 2011. The staff is what makes this hotel so great. They are always helpful and pleasant. In addition to an outstanding staff the hotel has many other great aspects about it. The free breakfast is better than any other hotel I have stayed at. Full hot breaskfast including eggs, saugage and bacon, french toast and waffles, as well as fruit, yogerts, pasteries and around 5 or 6 juice choices. The rooms are comfortable and quite and always clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great hotel for a very competitive price. November 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best hotel value in area! We stayed at a very questionable hotel across the street last time we were in town. OH MY GOODNESS! What a difference! For the same price (or less on line) you can stay at this Holiday Inn and get all the ammenities! The only tiny, tiny complaints we had were that the sink faucet would drip unless you adjusted the handles in a perfect manner to stop the drip (it was regularly achieveable). And the shower head didn't work properly. Literally half the water poured out the back of the shower head, no matter how much we tried to adjust it to spray properly. (room 414) Everything else was wonderful, clean room, comfortable beds, great staff. I am sure if we had asked they would have moved us to a room with a better shower head, etc. But, by the time we discovered it, we just weren't bothered enough to ask. Don't know how breakfast was, since we chose to have breakfast at the IHOP just across the intersection. November 2, 2012
