The bar was full of empty glasses because she did not clean as she went. We had to go up to the bar to get drinks most of the time because she was talking to her friends. January 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 THE STAFF SHOULD BE TRAINED WELL We booked this hotel 10 days in advance before we arrived in United States directly by phone, because there were not many hotels available during our transit back to our country. The first two days of our trip to the U.S., we stayed at one of the finest hotels located in Nob Hill area. The month we went Frisco, was a busy month and the majority of hotels were fully-booked. After coming back from our visit to Vegas on 22 January, we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The first impression, was that the hotel is not as strategic as we initially expected. There were not many stores or dining places nearby. This is a “new experience” since we normally stayed within Union Square area or Nob Hill area at any time we visit Frisco. We booked this hotel 10 days in advance, Now let’s start with the hotel. The staff are not so friendly, especially those who work at the front desk / reservation. Yes, there were some of the staff who were not so friendly, not only they lack of smiling but also were not very helpful during our short-visit there. For example, they have little knowledge on dining places or things that are needed by tourists. During our stay, it seems that this hotel has only one (1) concierge staff --- I might have been wrong, since we only stayed for 2 nights --. Our unpleasant experience happened during our check out time. Our flight was scheduled at midnight, so we checked out within normal time but booked an SUV taxi in advance through the bell-boy who he was very helpful (the tall guy who book or get a cab outside of the hotel, not the person who carried luggage in and out the room). We booked the taxi mentioned for 9PM ride to the airport. We were a little bit late, around 9.30-ish, because we had to re-arrange our stuff. The concierge guy, showed his lack of manner (both gesture and in verbal) regarding our so called “lateness”. But the taxi driver himself HAD NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER to having waited for us. So my son and I felt VERY uncomfortable with the way the concierge guy reacted or showed his act in front of us. Again, this should not have happened in the hotel managed under IHG chains. Conclusion: I would not recommend this hotel for a travelling family nor anyone else wanting to enjoy the beauty of San Francisco, because of the hotel’s location that is not strategic and surrounded by many homeless people in sidewalks, but also because of the staff’s LACK of hospitality. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid if possible I ended up staying in this hotel for 2 days out of a 2 week visit to San Francisco due to lack of availability of my preferred hotels. This hotel is fine if all you want to do is sleep - the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However the wifi was completely overloaded to the point that even simple web browsing would have errors and any kind of streaming would fail. The 'fitness centre' was just a couple of treadmills in an converted bedroom. The area around the hotel is not particularly nice. January 27, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, good service but a lot of construction outside Having stayed at this property many times in the past 25 years I would have to say it has maintained it's appeal. The location is superb for visitors of all types, close to the subway, downtown and Castro neighborhoods. The rates are reasonable for what you receive. Good, decent, clean, friendly, fair priced Holiday Inn service I have come to expect from the chain. The property has good security with locks on elevator doors and a door person to regulate visitors. The area as with most of SFO has quite a bit of homeless people. I did not feel in danger but this is a consideration for women traveling alone. Parking is SFO expensive, at around $35-40 a night...which is unacceptable in my opinion. January 18, 2015
