Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, good service but a lot of construction outside Having stayed at this property many times in the past 25 years I would have to say it has maintained it's appeal. The location is superb for visitors of all types, close to the subway, downtown and Castro neighborhoods. The rates are reasonable for what you receive. Good, decent, clean, friendly, fair priced Holiday Inn service I have come to expect from the chain. The property has good security with locks on elevator doors and a door person to regulate visitors. The area as with most of SFO has quite a bit of homeless people. I did not feel in danger but this is a consideration for women traveling alone. Parking is SFO expensive, at around $35-40 a night...which is unacceptable in my opinion. January 18, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, comfy rooms, and greate service The location is probably one of the best to get in San Francisco. It's right on Market St (arguably the main street) giving access to the streetcars, main bus lines, train lines, and it's near the famous cable cars. Also a couple of blocks are some of the best restaurants and shopping centers San Francisco can offer. Just twenty to thirty minutes of public transportation will get you access to most of the tourist attractions around San Francisco. About the room's amenities, internet is going to be either fairly good to slow. Maybe it was the holidays that affected the internet speeds due to influx of guests, but it was painfully slow. Despite of how fast internet connections are, streaming Twitch was horribly slow. Streaming Netflix, however, was so-so. The double bed queen size room was very nice. There's a nice view on the balcony in the higher floor bedrooms, the beds are nice, there is an adjustable automated temperature control, which was very nice. Problems I had was the bath/shower getting to comfortably warm temperatures. Not time related since I've tried getting hot temperatures twice between 9PM - Midnight. Staff services was very kind and welcoming. I'd recommend this inn. January 10, 2015

I stay in Holiday inns all the time as a IHG Gold's member and never have been treated like they did at the San Francisco Hotel. From the front desk staff to the restaurant and housekeeper, everyone had attitude. I understand that it was new year's eve and no one wanted to work but they shouldn't have taken it against the guest. I will never stay at that location again and will definitely start collecting points with other hotels, I am extremely disappointed. January 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Neighbor Front Desk "upgraded" us to a room that had an adjoining door. Our neighbors were a group of kids that were very loud until well past 11:00PM. They were back at it at 6:00 in the morning. Usually have been given a room at the end of the hall with no neighbors and it has been very peaceful. This hotel has a great location if you take BART or if you are going to a play at the Orpheum. A block away from each. Not a beautiful neighborhood, but not a problem if you are just looking for a comfortable, affordable hotel for sleeping. The hotel is clean and the staff has been friendly and accommodating. We've stayed here several times to go to the theater and it has worked well. December 29, 2014
