Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by well located, but sketchy neighborhood As a Gold member I was expecting the room ready at arrival since that was my past experience. Arriving I checked in with another gentleman who was only an IHG member and his room was ready for him, that surprised me. They said if I wanted to add 29 dollar I could upgrade to executive level, etc. I declined, since I didn't see how much better that would be. When the room was assigned I got a decent room in the corner which was good, but on a very low floor which meant hearing all the buses, music, people downstairs in the park. The decor is very dated the in every way, not even the lobby was updated. I must suggest the management to really invest in some renovation SOON, as it is I will not return. Staff were overall pretty nice and helpful, except for 1 bellboy who questioned me when I entered the lobby one day as to what I was looking for or needed, which for a guest staying at the hotel seemed weird. There was a problem one night with the hot water in the whole establishment where we were forced to take cold showers in the night and early in the morning. That is not acceptable, not apologies/notes/explanation was given until one inquired about it. No pro activeness in this sense. April 23, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Prime Location, Supreme Value you can go wrong with staying here, with its location at parque Morazon, the entire city of San Jose unfolds before it. The views of the city and restaurant are spectacular. The hotel itself has everything you might need. I always found the rates to be excellent to reasonable each time I cheked. A real gem. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great place My stay at the Aurola was great from the start. I walk in and Tony is right there to help with the bags. I check in and the people were very friendly and helpful. Any question that I had they had a great answer about the local attractions. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I will definitely stay there on my next trip. April 9, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Not bad for the money The hotel is aged and it shows. That may explain some of the problems with the hotel. The AC is especially way too loud for me and I sometime had to trade between a cool room and a quiet room which isn't how I want to spend a restful evening in a hotel room. Wish there were electrical outlets on/around the nightstand to plug in phones, tablet etc. March 31, 2015
