The staff were very friendly and quick to get us checked in.
The hotel and rooms were very clean and well taken care of.

Arrived at night and had to wait at the desk for somebody to show up then I realized that the desk clerk was outside finishing his cigarette.. There was a huge and sticky white stain on the carpet that made me avoid even going on that side of the bed. Since I worked late I called the desk in the morning about 7 to ask permission to sleep in late and check out at 2pm but I was refused. Rotten and dirty hotel and rotten and rude staff. Very disappointed since I had stayed here years ago ant it was a nice hotel. Different management I guess.

The room was fine, and the cost of parking my car in their lot was less than airport parking fees, but after staying at dozens of Holiday Inns on the east coast over the last 10 years, I have 2 major problems with this one:
#1- The slowest Wi-Fi Internet connection I have encountered in a looooong time.
#2- No movies On-Demand.
If all you need is a bed and a shower before your flight out of Richmond, this hotel is fine.
If you are looking to pass the time while you're waiting for bedtime, bring a book. (Literally)

This is the second attempt to stay at this hotel. The first time, they lost my reservation. So I went to the hotel down the street. (very late at night). This time, their driver never came in time to give me a lift as promised to my office within 2 miles. So, I had to get a ride and was late to my meeting. During the ride to the hotel form the airport (arrival) the driver insisted in texting and driving\. The driver was also in a very aggitated frame of mind.
Now I see I get no points for staying at this hotel because I received a group rate, which means I will no longer be staying at this hotel. My next trip is in April 2015 to this location; but it looks like I'll be at hotel down the street again. Also of note, the bartender served my scotch in a shot glass.
The room layout includes no work desk, just a table with no light. Room lighting was yellow and dreary. Restaurant not open for lunch.

The staff was very friendly. Shuttle to the Airport was extremely convenient as was the trip coming back. I would definately stay here again for this convenience. Wasn't real impressed with the restaurant but again the staff was eager to please which helped with the busy holiday season
