Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unbelievably poor hotel To say that I was unimpressed by this hotel is an understatement. After checking in, I was made to wait over an hour for my room to be cleaned and ready. The hotel had poor planning to have so many check in at once and no rooms ready for the guests. When I asked to be compensated for this inconvenience, I was offered a complimentary breakfast voucher. Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast opened the following morning. I asked if the voucher could be used for dinner and I was told no. The staff seemed to be annoyed by my request. I will be telling all my colleagues to avoid reserving at this hotel in the future. Restaurant obviously struggling with poor attendants, very limited choices, and lack of customers. Free desserts don't do much to compensate. June 23, 2014

Great people, nice little bar / restaurant, room was fresh, great walk in shower. If you have to travel, travel well my friends, stay at the Richmond Airport Holiday Inn!!!! June 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horific experience Upon arrival to the hotel, my guest and I waited at the front desk for approximately 10 minutes while the front desk person argued with a customer about his e-mail not being on file, etc. Being in the customer service industry myself, this should have been an immediate red flag for me to pursue alternative lodging arrangements. Following the conclusion of this altercation and checking in, I identified an inoperable vanity light bulb within my room. I advised the front desk and she stated that she would try to find someone (if someone was here) to repair it. Following being gone for dinner, I returned to my room to identify that the vanity light had been replaced, as the old light bulb was placed within my waste receptacle; including, various pieces of the broken bulb on the vanity, floor, facial tissues, my toothbrush, towels and various other personal hygiene items. I was a bit disappointed when I was offered one free night for my inconvenience… June 16, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No longer a good value when you have a choice I have been staying at this hotel off and on for the past several months. I have put several other people from my company, as well as others associated with a local project into this hotel. Recently some changes were made that no longer make this a good value compared to other hotels in the area. Specifically, they no longer provide breakfast vouchers for Platinum awards members, and most recently, no longer offer free coffee in the lobby. For most people, these are insignificant items. For the business traveler, these small distinguishing perks can mean the difference between a pleasant stay, or an inconvenient stay. Additionally, their very nice exercise area is poorly ventilated and only one of the treadmills work consistently. I previously enjoyed this hotel very much (excellent location), but given the other choices, I no longer find this to be a good value. May 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ROADWARRIOR1953 When I was planning my trip to the Richmond area I remembered the Richmond Airport Holiday Inn, and that I was impressed the last time I stayed there six months ago. The front desk remembered that I wanted a top floor room, and on the Airport side. The take off and landing of the planes is entertainment to me since I have been a pilot for 45 years. There are no faults that I noticed, all positive experiences. The individual HD TV's at every booth in the restaurant are unique. I had a Ten Star experience again. Thank You for the perfect stay. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Hard bed. Poor pillows. Staff manager Shawnasee is very nice. Food is terrible. Better food at Huddle House or anywhere else. Poorly prepared and over priced. Breakfast buffet was ice cold eggs and potatoes. One bite and done. Took 45 minutes to heat up cinnamon rolls and they were burnt. Won't stay again. April 5, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping took my Ring I take my wedding ring off at night and put it on my nightstand. This particular morning I forgot to put it back on. I called the hotel they said they would check and call me back. They did not call back. I called two additional times and they promised to call back but did not. After the 3rd call they asked me to call back the next day when the house keeping supervisor was there (claimed they could not reach here by cell). When I called back they said the housekeeping mgr. Asked the person who cleaned my room and they believed the person when they said they did not take my ring. I finally got the GM on the phone he said no one else had staid in the room since me but would not give me the name of the housekeeper. I know the ring was there so I know it was stolen. I admit I was careless by forgetting to put it on that morning, but my ring was stolen. March 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home away from home was AWESOME! This was my second year staying at this hotel for my job in the General Assembly. I was so impressed with the way the hotel treated me my first year in 2013 that I HAD to come back this year. The breakfast was great (every morning that I ate it) and my room was always cleaned. All of the front desk staff were so nice and friendly and were easy to cooperate with. I'm looking forward to coming back next January. March 12, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast was the downfall…. The stay was pleasant enough, however the morning crew (as nice as they were) just could not handle the breakfast crowd. The wait to order was 15 minutes….we sat at a dirty table the whole time and then the waitress cleared some other tables and set the tray with the dirty dishes on our table and left it there until someone else came to take our order….the coffee was really bad and after we ordered, the food that we did get was not even room temperature… was cold. The price is right for the rooms but something has got to be done about the breakfast. March 1, 2014

Just check your room temperature and alarm clock when you enter your room - I forgot and woke up sweating at 4am followed promptly by the 4:10am alarm going off - both set by the previous guest. Staff is nice and knowledgeable. Breakfast is slow so plan a little extra time for it. Breakfast room is comfy and nice. Rooms were clean but not spotless. February 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a wonderful and pleasant experience. This was our first time staying at this Holiday Inn. From the moment we walked into the hotel, which we did not have a reservation, we were greeted professionally and quickly. Our room was clean and comfortable, the only complaint regarding the room was how small the pillows were (approximately 18" square), being we had a king size bed. We did laugh about it, but they were comfortable to sleep on. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, which were excellent. In fact, I left a note for the chef stating that their Chicken Marsala was the BEST I have eaten at any restaurant. Both of our servers (dinner and breakfast) were very professional and attentive to our needs. I cannot wait to stay here again, which will be for the NASCAR Richmond Race the end of April. The location is nothing to write home about, but is in an ideal location if you need access to the airport. Just note that because this Holiday Inn has a full service restaurant, there is no free must stay next door at the Holiday Inn Express for the free bacon and eggs. January 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nobody was working I used my points for a 2 day stay & my room wasn't cleaned. I had to go to the front desk to get clean towels & kleenex because of this issue. Noone was at the front desk & when he did show up he was carrying a plate of food. My grandaughter cut her finger falling in the shower & even though there was a first aid kit in the lobby it didn't have any bandaids The appearance of the property & the lobby was nice; but, itwas like being in a ghost town. Finally the water in the indoor pool was frgigd. January 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Glad to find When I I first booked my flight I couldn't find a place to stay close to the airport, therefore I stayed about a half hour away. The drive was congested and boring, plus I had to pay a toll for about a 1/2 mile of toll road. On my return to the area to head home I discovered this holiday Inn. It was comfortable, good down to earth staff and friendly. For full service it was a nice small bar and local eats, my kind of place. Don't count this place out. Located in a nice covey of forest and still close to airport e.i 2 miles. You don't have to leave location to drive about for food. December 8, 2013

We had dinner served to us one evening and the food was exceptional! It was the best banquet food I think I have ever had. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone! I did not have time to use the amenities (pool, bar, workout, business center), so I cannot rate them. November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ROADWARRIOR1953 I stayed Three straight nights at this Hotel, it was very easy to find, very close to the Airport, my hobby is Aviation, so the view from my suite on the 5th floor was breathtaking, I could watch the arrivals and departures of the planes, at night it looks like a Christmas display with all the different colored lights. There were many premium channels on the wide screen TV, the internet (WIFI) had a quick and solid connection. The room was extremely quiet, I slept better in that bed then I do at home, the refrigerator kept my ice cream from melting, the room was spotless. An Aviation Museum is a mile away, it is worth the visit even if it is just for a weekend get away. I will always stay at this location if I can stay in a room on an upper floor with a view of the Airport. I hated to leave. Thanks for the perfect stay. November 18, 2013

Everything at this Hotel was good, except the hotel restaurant and one of the people traveling with me was scared to death in her room. All of the sudden someone opened her door and scared her to death. The person at the desk said it was housekeeping. ( At 9:30 PM ) This will be the last time we all stay at the Holiday Inn Airport. ( She had the door latch closed so no one could get in. ) October 26, 2013
