Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overnighter Stayed one night and couldn't even sleep. The mattress on the pull out bed was like from the 1920s. I might as well have slept on the floor. When we requested linens for the pull out bed they brought a flat sheet, itchy blanket and a type of crocheted blanket. Pillows? The room was described to be much larger. The suite is not really a suite. Don't bother booking a suite unless you really need the kitchen. Construction was going on till 10 and I had to call the front desk to inquire why the heck would there be construction going on. Front desk said they should have been done hours ago. June 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, great staff and comforts of home This is my stopping spot between LA and San Luis Obispo. Right off the freeway and close to a market and coffee favorite. The staff has always been there when I need them and fixes any challenges I address. The pool is temperature nice and the remodeled rooms are gorgeous. Love free WiFi, the white bedding and the closet smells like strawberries. For the price this is excellent. June 17, 2014

There was one bedroom with a bed, plus a bed in another wall-off area adjacent to the living room, and also a sleeper sofabed. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathroom was roomy. There were two TVs, two climate controls for each space. When we needed extra blankets and pillows, housekeeping was at our door within minutes. Newly renovated 2014. The suite rate was not much more than the regular room rate. June 10, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Santa Maria I was very disappointed in this hotel this visit. The hall leading to the room was dirty with scraps of paper, candy wrappers and other debris. It looked as though it had been vacuumed half way. The pillows were old and lumpy and there were few of them. The bathroom had broken chipped tiles in the corner by the bath. There were not enough plates, bowls and knives and forks for two had we wanted to use them. The curtains did not slide easily. The room felt as though no one had stayed there for quite a while. The hotel was being remodeled but this did not affect our stay. I felt the price was high for these accommodations. June 5, 2014

Outside my room had piles debris and dust inside was similar, only half the lights worked, the toilet didn't flush and the vending machine wouldn't accept cash. I could not be offered a water at checkin because the kitchen was closed she said. I left as soon as I could so I have no option on breakfast. May 17, 2014

Poor,and I mean poor Internet WIFI,only signal on one devise while sitting on bed. I was told they had upgraded this already. They did comp me the extra charge to upgrade my data through my carrier. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Experience Holiday Inn has a false advertisement regarding their suites. We paid alot of money or a suite and we got nothing that was advertised. Our room had only 1 tv but had 2 remotes. Our sliding door screen door was broken and the bathroom had not fan, the coffee maker had a short. The air conditioners worked only when wanted to work. Then the construction was going on when we tried to rest and all we heard was pounding, drilling, sawing. not good. Then we waited 25 minutes for the front desk to find a bag cart, most hotels have a bell man that takes your luggage/baggage to your room. Well it ended up we had to do it our selves. Very bad poor customer service and room to stay in. I would never recommend any of my friends nor family to stay in this hotel. May 6, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Atrocious I think this hotel was accomodating hooligans and families with no social aptitude whatsoever. The swimming pool was full of screaming adults late at night, probably intoxicacted. The rooms have thin walls so you hear the neighbors all the time. Then you have the families with screaming kids down the corridors, doors open. Finally, if that wasn't enough, the building was being renovated which is fine. But seriously, drilling and knocking noises at 8am on Easter Sunday?? Make no mistake, I'm a platinum IHG holder and visit their hotels frequently. This one was a zoo! April 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff lacked compassion When I checked in, I noticed that the hotel was going through renovation. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt during renovation but when I got into my room, I was disappointed. They apparently over booked the hotel and upgraded me to a two bedroom suite. The master bedroom was missing a TV and the air conditioner did not work. But because they had no other rooms available I was stuck. The construction noise went on until 8:30 at night. When I went to the front desk in the morning, the guy behind the desk seemed annoyed that I wanted to change my room. He asked why I am I complaining, and that I was upgraded to a suite. I told him I wanted a room with all the amenities working and no construction noise. I didn't care about a two bedroom suite that was missing a TV, the air conditioner didn't work, and the shower dripped all night. Because of the poor customer service, I will never stay here again! There were a lot of other problems but they were do to the renovation and I was trying to stay flexible. April 22, 2014

I asked for and received a local map that had been copied so many times it could not be read. There was no complimentary coffee at the lobby. There was no list of local restaurants available. The exercise room was unavailable due to construction; a fix would be to offer a pass to a local gym. My room phone didn't work. The microwave in the room was manufactured in May 1986. A little outdated and scary to use. There wasn't sufficient front desk help at the time of arrival. The thermostat wasn't working. Fortunately the temp outside was pleasant. I received a paper 1 out of 4 days at my door. The maid service was below average the first day. The maid service the remaining days was great. I wasn't offered any benefits or perks for being a priority member. I was disappointed at a hotel chain that i have found very satisfying in the past. April 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel. I didn't realize this hotel was going through renovations when I made the reservation. Had I know, I don't think I would have changed my mind about staying here. The only reason I didn't give it an overall 5/5, is that when I tried to turn on the TV, it was not working. I tried everything before calling the front desk. I wish I would have called immediately because their maintenance guy was there in no time to solve the problem. Once I stepped out of the elevator, you can tell they were doing a lot of renovations. There was plastic on the ground to walk on, tools and other electric equipment along the sides of the hall way, boxes, and trash everywhere. Once I got to the room however, it was like stepping into a different Hotel. I'm sure this hotel will look great once renovations are done, and I would definitely stay here again. It all began with the arrival and finding out the property was having renovations done and I was NOT informed at my time of booking by the IHG agent. Then also I was.told.at my arrival that I could not receive any upgrade (even though I am a Platinum member) due to the fact that I was using my Rewards points for my stay. I thought that was the incentive for the program due to my loyalty to IHG! The construction noise was on the floor directly above my room during the daytime hours and the parking area was full of construction containers which made parking a problem.I was not happy at all with where I was put on the property but that was was all that was available to me per the desk clerk and since I didn't want to lose my points by cancelling and leaving, I unhapilly chose to stay.As a Platinum member I was very unimpressed and unhappy with my accommodations and treatment of this IHG hotel stay! Too bad they're in the midst of re-doing the restaurant and bar....which was moved down the hall to an extremely small other room. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice motel, internet issues The motel is fine, the staff are excellent. The only issue we had is the internet service blocks the ports used for Outlook and other email clients. WebMail works fine so for most people this is probably not an issue. I don't have webmail access to my corporate email, so it was an issue for me. I have to use OutLook. I contacted their ISP and they confirmed that the ports I need were blocked by them. I stay at many hotels and this is the first place I've found where I couldn't use OutLook. March 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth staying there during construction I have been to this Holiday Inn several times, and it was very nice until the construction started, and I could hear the hammering etc of the construction workers on the upper floor. I could not sleep, due to the noise plus we were inconvenienced due construction going on. I think customers should have been given a lower price or a discount since the hotel is not at its full availability. The restaurant was also not available. Otherwise the staff at this location is always accommodating and helpful. The main reason why I like this Holiday Inn is because of the awesome staff. March 7, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Santa Maria HI, nice place Excellent motel with only one flaw. The room was clean, the staff great, sink, toilet and shower in excellent condition. The one flaw was the internet provider. They block the IP ports used by email clients, so if you use OutLook or some other client to read your email it will not work. I contacted their help line and was told "that's just the way it is, use the web to read your email". I much prefer to download my email so I can read them offline later. In fairness, the internet web access worked fine. I have stayed at many HI and HIE locations and this is the first one I have found where those ports are blocked. Other than that, excellent motel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room filthy I stay here regularly and always seem to have a problem with the noise and cleanliness. Black hair all over bathroom floor. This last time it was all over the bathroom and on AND in our bed!! Also a red stain on the top cover of the bed. It was disgusting. So we called for housekeeping to change the bedding. It took 4 phone calls and 2 hours before they finally showed up. So, finally got to bed at midnight. The housekeeper was great. She apologized continuously and was very fast. When checking out my husband complained and got a small discount, but was not enough for all the inconvenience. This may have been the last time we stay there. December 31, 2013

The room was very comfortable and clean and the location is convenient to restaurants, shopping, etc. I would rate higher if complimentary breakfast were offered. Another minor complaint I have is that the in-room refrigerator does not have a freezer section. That is disappointing for a suite with kitchenette since many guests would like to have frozen food during their stay or be able to re-freeze blue ice packs. December 22, 2013

When we arrived the A/C did not work, The Hotel Maintenance man was called, came to the room and told us the wall thermostat no longer worked and we had to us the unit's control panel. 2.When we returned to the room at 10:00 PM the heater did not work. The maintenance man returned but could not get the heater to work. In order to have a warm room we relocated to another room. 3.When I went to take a shower the water would not come on. Because it was late I decided against calling the front desk and decided that I would sower at home. 4.The beds were un comfortable 5. When I asked for the manager upon leaving the next morning I was told that the manager would not be in until 10:00 AM Based upon the above experience we will not stay there again and possibly scratch Holiday Inns from our list December 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice upgrade Nice hotel. Excellent friendly staff from the front desk to the night workers cleaning the lobby and tending to the laundry. If I neded something to complain about it would be the choice of air freshener used in the hallways. Reminded me of what is used in gas station restrooms to cover up the smell. It is overpowering strong and very unnpleasant. I choose Holiday inn because there are usually no surprises. This hotel met my needs and expectations. Thanks. December 11, 2013

There was some website confusion over bonus points, and management went the extra mile to leave us satisfied. Overall, everyone, including the man who brought extra bedding in the evening, was extremely helpful. Great location for our drive up the California coast. December 8, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Comforts Our stay made our holiday with family so enjoyable. My son said it was his favorite holiday memory ever. Our check-in was pleasant and quick. The room was clean and comfortable and HBO makes it that much sweeter. Quiet rooms close to an amusement park was excellent for our son. The convenience to the freeway and shopping needs was perfect - freeway on and freeway off. Even went to the Drive-In theater in town (double feature too). Now that was a true treat to experience. Like the suite-like rooms (very large room for two beds); very comfortable and clean. One of the best rates in the region for value. Two cons; staff acted like they were doing me a favor by checking me in-very disengaged and not particularly welcoming; and unbelievably poor television reception, so don't plan to watch a football game in your room with any enjoyment.
