Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dttamu Excellent resturant
I spent two weeks at the Sarnia HI and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of food at the Bridges Restaurant. I had most menu items at one time during my staff and each was good to excellent.
Rooms were old but clean and in good repair. I did not stay in the newer tower but the room was a good value.

This site was originally recommended by Sarnia Sting staff. We have stayed here a few times and each time has been great. Staff very friendly. Pool and hot tub areas clean with lots of towels. Food good.

When in Sarnia this is my "home". The staff are all great, 95% of the time I take my meals in the onsite restaraunt. If you need something the staff will go out of their way to get for you. And I always get a good night sleep. What more could one ask for.
Thanks To The Staff.

When we arrived to the hotel there was a notice saying that they were currently renovating due to damage sustained by Hurricane Sandy. I didn't see any renovations, but it did mean that there was no elevator to the second floor room where we had been booked into. The staff very kindly moved us to a first floor room so that wasn't a problem.
Our bedroom didn't need reno's just a really good clean. Either the previous guest, or the housekeeping staff had long black wavy hair. I flushed 5 of them down the toilet, and washed another 3 down the tub.
The hallway could also have used a good cleaning as it was littered with little bits of stuff. During our 2 day stay, we walked past a small puddle of vomit each time we came and went from our room.
That being said, the rest of the hotel seemed to be in good shape. The restuarant was very nice and we enjoyed a good breakfast. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by swem4 Too expensive for what's provided
Far too expensive for what's provided. But, they have you over a barrell because there aren't many places to stay in Sarnia. Bring on more competition!! Had to ask for my complementary toiletries on day 2.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HockeyTraveller Great service, but a little overpriced
We were there for the silverstick tournament and spent 3 nights. The service we received from the time we arrived to the moment we left was awesome. The front desk people were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant staff was attentive and the food was really good. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. My only negative point is I thought price per night was a little expensive.

As a fairly regular customer here over the years, I have observed the major improvements since the addition of the tower years ago. Despite the damage to portions of the hotel from Superstorm Sandy, I had a excellent stay in January 2013. The staff were most accommodating and the restaurant was too. The room price did seem high for off season, but I stayed using points with cash which made it an exceptional value. The room was extremely comfortable. The recent renovations to the fitness room and pool area are terrific. The Priority Club perks are super. As usual, I cannot wait to go back, and also enjoy the downtown area in close proximity to enjoy the art galleries, science museum, etc. as well as Cantara Park on Lake Huron.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Memsie Comfortable room and great service.
Although this location is still undergoing renovations since hurricane Sandy, the service was excellent, The room was very clean but could use a facelift with regards to wallpaper and border. We found the bathroom very tiny and in need of updating but otherwise very clean, We would not hesitate to stay there again. We weer there for the SilverStick and as a last minute entry appreciate that the Hotel was able to accomodate the whole team on very short notice.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ch55 NOt a fan of a "crew room"
I usually really enjoy my stay at Sarnia Holiday Inn, but this last visit was an exception. The room I had is what I refer to as a "crew room"- microwave on the counter and refigerater next to the bedside table. The bathroom had mildew and iron was scorched and not clean.
I will say the bed was comfortable as always. I will be sure to ask not to be place in the section between the tower and the lobby unless it is in one of the newly refurbished rooms the next time I stay.

SnowflakeCDN I was spoiled!
When I got to the hotel there were signs all over the place apologizing for the renovations. I didn't see any while I was there, but was informed that the hotel was damaged by Sandy. Well if that was the hotel in poor condition, I think it would blow my mind in good condition.
I had the extreme fortune of dining in the restaurant on five different occasions. All I can say is WOW. The picture (below) of one of my meals has made it all over social media, the presentation was that spectacular. The flavour was equally impressive.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and have recommended this hotel to all my colleagues that have business in Sarnia.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WhateverTraveller Wonderful location with great staff
Our two nights at this Holiday Inn were magnificent. From the professional attitude at check in to the outstanding help from the local reservations staff prior to our visit made the trip wonderful. We were in town visiting relatives and enjoyed the central location, great rates, great amenities and dedicated staff. One evening I had a craving for a snack and went down to the lounge arriving just after closing - my mistake for not checking the hours. The bartender was very apologetic and offered to see what he could do to get us something to snack on. I told him it was fine and not to bother but his offer was genuine and appreciated. We will stay at the Holiday Inn, Point Edward/Sarnia next time we are in the area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sidsupu2003 Comfortable stay and excellent dining
This was my third stay at this location in last one year; the service and food was impeccable as ever.
They could do with chaging the lounge sofas though, seem to be sagging a bit and making prolong sitting uncomfortable. Other than that, a very good hotel, a definite recommend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TranscontinentalTravelers Our Favorite Place to Stay
We have always recieved outstanding service and accommodation at Holiday Inn Sarnia. Even though it was recovering from recent damage from the super storm, every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. It is one of our summer destinations. We love the hotel, the bridge and the century old tradition of watching the ships enter the St. Claire River from Lake Huron. A photo and art galary/gift shop that focuses on the regional heritage would be a lovely addition. We enjoy the glass etchings in the restauant immensely and the food is superb.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ck22 Wonderful experience
My family and I had a wonderful stay. The salt water pool was excellent. There is not a lot to do in Sarnia that is family orientated in the time of year we were there, so the pool was an excellent way to entertain. The waitress went above and beyond taking care of our two little ones. She entertained them, as well as thought ahead what would help make our dining experience great! The food was superb! Love that the fruit salad had a variety and fresh! Thanks again! We will be back!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Colleen1 This hotel needs an update.
My husband and I booked a room in advance. The room was supposed to overlook the harbour. This room was not available when we arrived so we were put in one that overlooked the empty swimming pool. The work out room was closed for renovations. The room we got had a musty smoky smell. The hallways smelled like a dirty hospital. The workout room was unavailable. The bathroom needed a good clean. When you pay this much for a room you expect to at least get breakfast, but no! This hotel has put me off the Holiday Inn chain. Prioity Club membership was certainly not noted.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by starchie1 Bed was very comfortable
Stayed in the older part of hotel, which could use some updating. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet.
Had breakfast at the Bridges restaurant and it was very good and reasonalbly priced. Room was over priced compared to other Holiday Inns that we have stayed at. The coffee in the room was not replaced on the second day of our stay.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DouglasG Bad experience with noisy room over the hotel humming transformer
Nobody should be booked in this room with the hotel power supply transformer (which was humming loudly) just below the window. I prepaid a month before and this was the room I received at registration when the hotel was full and no other rooms were available. After much complaining , I was transferred to another room when a cancellation came in. Ruined my otherwise pleasant stay in Sarnia.
Stayed in Kitchener Holiday Inn the two nights before. Room was fine except security knocked at my door at 3AM and woke me up...they had the wrong room number!
This trip unlike others was a bad experience at Holiday Inn!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pilgrim An enjoyable experience.
After enduring some derogatory comment about Sarnia and
vicinity i.e. "Who would pick that area for a vacation?" my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the surroundings and many opportunities for taking walks in beautiful parks.
That, coupled with great facilities and service, made our 9 day stay a memorable experience .
We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast menu and friendliness of the staff.
We also appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff in general.
We would certainly consider using the facility again at a future time.
