This Holiday Inn was easy to find, centrally located, and had an incredibly accommodating staff. 300 North (I believe that's the restaurant's name) was equally accommodating, and their dinners are excellent. Their breakfast was a bit disappointing, but offer a nice looking Sunday brunch. The Holiday Inn itself charges too much for the accommodations, and you can go right into Newport for deals 40% less expensive at Holiday Inn's top competitors, which I'll look into next time if accessing Newport area…this is though, a great spot for the Point Judith/Narragansett Bay/University Of Rhode Island area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WinVA Great Location, Great Staff, Excellent Restaurant
The hotel staff is excellent and the location's proximity to URI can't be beat. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained despite being a little dated (renovation coming soon I believe). The restaurant/bar is outstanding. The owners are friendly and welcoming...right off the bat, they made me feel like a regular even though I was only visiting. There are many great places to eat in the area, but don't forget that one of the best places is right there in the hotel -- so when you see the owners, Greig and Tim - tell them Win said hello

Just after checking in with the hotel I walked down to find my room. Just walking down the main hall I found that it smelled like cigarette smoke! That is absolutely disgusting! My room was right across the hall from the smoking rooms and anytime I opened the door to go out I smelled it.
There is a light for when you walk into the room but past that if you want light in the room you have to turn on the lights next to the bed and the desk manually. One of the lights next to the bed didn't even turn on! Then in the bathroom if you try to use the toilet room forever to be used again.
I was visiting a friend and they came to the room for a little and we both used the bathroom before going out. Flushing the toilet once then 20 minutes ago they went to use it and it wouldn't flush for some reason.
If I go to a hotel I expect that everything is in perfect working condition. This wasn't the case!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by port in a storm A wonderfull port in a storm !
The Inn was my port in a recent blizzard in Rhode Island. I feared being stranded in the snow without power for days.
All of the people working at the Inn were there for three days....they were kind, caring and competent. Whether they were in charge of the desk, cleaning or generally helping, they made me feel safe and well cared for !
The rooms are in the process of renovation and should be beautiful in time for the summer tourists.
The restaurant attached to the Inn was a welcome haven. The ambience was lovely...the food, delicious and the service wonderful.
The Inn and 300North were a blessing for me in a storm. I would return again if the situation presented itself.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AKD1 Good location, good staff
This hotel is in a great location in terms of quick access to different parts of South County -- within minutes you are in Narragansett or Wickford or other nearby communities and you are also not that far from the bridges leading to Newport and the highway to Providence.
The staff members are friendly and attentive. The bar is good.
