As a Platinum IHG Rewards member I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns and this property ranks as the worst. It is in dire need of an update, the beds are falling apart.
It also makes me wonder why they have IHG Rewards. My room was tiny and faced a building 10ft away across an alley - a Holiday Inn Express! Absolutely no view or privacy.
I will not return to this hotel.
The front desk clerk said he would talk to his GM about my situation and I heard back absolutely nothing.

Great location near transit and Space Needle. Area being redeveloped. Spacious rooms.Confortable beds. Fantastic large pool for good lap swimming.For the money this is an excellent choice.

We chose this hotel because of location, price, parking. It was significantly less expensive than the other large hotels in downtown Seattle and had a secure parking deck below. The room was clean and ready on time, lobby and staff were welcoming, and we had a quiet night's sleep. Walk-able to the Space Needle, Pike Place, REI, etc., but found it easier to have front desk call a cab and it was no more than $10 to each of these attractions. With $100+ savings over the other hotels, it was worth the cab fare. There wasn't any view from the room per se, but we weren't in there very much anyway.

Nice quit relaxing room. The best water pressure in the shower. Very convient to food and monorail. Very close to Space Needle. Loved the refrigerator and coffee machine in room. Super absorbent towels. The front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Room attendants restocked and cleaned room daily. I will recommend and return to this hotel. Thanks again. $10 a day for parking but it is in a locked area with easy access.

The Holiday Inn on Dexter Avenue Provided excellent customer service!! My family a group of 8 flew into Seattle to cruise to Alaska and spent one night at the hotel. During check out the next day we asked if we could return to the hotel upon disembarking from the cruise and prior to our flight leaving Seattle. Not only was the answer yes, but management agreed to secure our luggage and also allow us the use the Business Suite until time for our departing flight.
We found the Holiday Inn to be in a great location; near the Space Needle, Downtown, The Market and very good restaurants. The rooms were updated and clean.
The hotel management and staff went above and beyond our expectations!!
They even gave us free snacks to eat on our flight home!
This is our Seattle Home away from Home!!!

Terrible Service from the Front Desk, they just seemed to always be put out when you asked a question, especially Gerald. The beds were not comfortable at all, but the room was clean. The location was good as we were able to walk to 95% of the places we wanted to go.

My grandaughter wander out of my room. The Porter found her brought her to the front desk who immediately started calling to find out where she belonged. I was able to come get her safe and sound.
I know that would not have happened to us if it had not bee a well trained staff doing what needed to be done.

We recently visited Seattle and stayed at this hotel on dexter ave. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was perfect. It is situated between the space needle complex, the wharf area, queen anne hill, and the downtown. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
I woud recommend this hotel. The only draw back is no pool. The parking was secure and available only with a pass key.

This is the third time we have stayed here before and after an Alaskan cruise. The hotel is close enough to the pier to walk with your luggage (less than a mile). The staff is great and the hotel is very quiet. Good food next door and very close to downtown. We often drop our luggage off at the hotel in the AM and go shopping downtown while we wait to check in. Everyone is very helpful and it is one of my favorite Holiday Inn hotels. We will definitely be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I was able to walk short distances to many major attractions and felt comfortable doing so. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and the rooms and overall hotel was very clean. I will definitely try to stay here when I return to Seattle.

First time using the IHG Rewards platinum status upgraded to a suite room. Front desk staff Michael was very courteous and professional. Overall staffs at this location were friendly and helpful. Hotel is within walking distance to Pike Place Market, Chihuly Garden & Glass, the Space Needle and EMP Museum. $10 parking per day is a plus, but parking space is a bit small.

We were awoken way too early due to the fact that the room darkening curtains did not span all the way across the window. The only thing keeping the sun out was the sheer curtains and it did nothing. Why do the solid curtains only go about two feet in on both sides? It's just silly and I won't stay there again because of it. It's a shame too because everything else was great.

From the moment we arrived, every single staff person we encountered was incredibly friendly and bent over backwards to make sure everything was just right for us. It all started with Gerald at the front desk, who made us feel totally at home. Our first morning, a maintenance man came up lightning quick when I reported we couldn't use our room safe since it had been left locked. After fixing it, he asked if there was anything else he could do. When I told him our coffeemaker wasn't working, he raced out and within five minutes he came back with a brand new-in-the-box coffeemaker. He even brought us a newspaper! As for housekeeping, be on the lookout for Irma. She is the sweetest, hardest working person I've ever seen. She couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. She even gushed over pictures from my daughter's wedding. Of course, the location of this place couldn't have been better for getting over to the Space Needle Seattle Center area. We were able to walk everywhere. The only semi down comment I could make is that the service was slow at the adjacent restaurant, Emerald Grill, but the food was excellent! I highly recommend everything about this place.

We stayed here prior to our Alaskan cruise and the location was perfect as it offered many things - eating establishments, stores, attractions - all within walking distance. It is away from the busy streets of downtown. The front desk staff were courteous and very helpful on directing us to places we inquired about. Room was comfortable and had a refrigerator and small microwave to use for storing drinks and snacks. We will definitely visit this Hotel location again for future visits to Seattle.

Very good location to Seattle center and also down town. It was nice to use every items in the room, and very comfortable I was. The restaurant which is next to the hotel was also good. I'd like to use again this hotel when I come to Seattle in the future.

I arrived very late, around 2am on August 12th for a Creative Live workshop. Matt, i think his name was Matt, was working the desk and got me checking in quickly and kindly. I was very happy about that because I was tired and had to be up in afew hours. My bed was very comfortable and I was very happy to see that there was a small refrigerator in the room.

Arrived very early in the morning from Anchorage, Alaska. The room that was promissed was not available. Rather than say "Sorry" the person at the frontdesk kept saying that the hotel was fully booked, totally ignoring the fact that a room was promissed. Rather than showing understanding for the fact that we were tiredm he dit not do anything at all and let us find out when we could go to the room. After being up for more than 24 hours, the room became available around noon time.

We planned a weekday getaway to Seattle at the last minute, so our choices were limited. Glad to find that our choice- even if from a limited pool- was great! Within walking distance to popular coffee shops, several restaurants and a nice "yuppy" type neighborhood that was safe to walk through from morning until evening. Was hopeful to walk to Space Needle, but road construction made that nearly impossible, so we drove to downtown and incurred daily parking costs- on top of hotel parking fees. However this should be a temporary setback once construction is completed. Overall, would definitely recommend for a reasonably priced Seattle hotel- clean, personable staff, and safe location. MUST must must order from Zeek's pizza- they deliver AMAZING pizza, along with beverages and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. sigh...

Overall, this is a good property. Reasonable location, readonable rates and nice rooms. The staff is excellent. I would stay here again.
Parking, however, is difficult and we paid the additional $10 per day for garage parking. 100 percent of the spaces are sized for compact cars and at least 70 percent of the vehicles parked in the garage were not compacts. Additionally, on the one night when it was most important for us to park in the garage (wedding gifts from our daughter's wedding), there was no room to park, and the only "open space" was not available because the other cars sizes encroached on the compact space making it unusable. All other nights, there was sufficent room for us to find parking, although it was generally tight. The hotel does have overflow parking that is regularly patrolled by hotel security, however it is in an otherwise open lot.
The Security Supervisor came to our rescue, though, by directing us to park in a location in the garage that allowed us to be secure, yet allowed other patrons to exit as needed. His level of customer service, dealing with the father-of-the-bride past midnight after an afternoon wedding, was spectacular as was the front desk staff.
I recommend the hotel reevaluate their garage parking and reduce the number of spaces by enlarging each space by as much as one foot.

The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. Although it was downtown, there are very few options for dinner or drinks within walking distance.
They didn't acknowledge my Platinum status, provide the customary "goodie bag" upon checking in or offer the usual free breakfast or free drink coupons. When I inquired if this was an oversight, they stated "they didn't do breakfast coupons." I wasn't offered an upgrade, but the room I was in was spacious and very comfortable.
While I don't necessarily require these perks, they are one of the primary reasons I am loyal to the IHG brand and chose to stay at their properties over all others.
If you are used to these typical perks and upgrades and are choosing this property in lieu of another, I would suggest you reconsider your choice.
The only service issue I had was that the ironing board in the room was broken and it took two calls and an hour wait to get a new one sent up.
All this said, everything else I expect from a Holiday Inn was spot on.
