Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A most excellent stay The Staff was truly incredible and helpful during my visit. We had some issues with one of the rooms, they were quick to resolve any problems that came up. It was really a great visit because of their superior service (both the day and night staff). The Hotel itself provided a quiet retreat from the city, but certainly we had no problems getting into the city and enjoying all that NY had to offer. In addition, the rooms were larger than those in the city with the refridgerator and microwave it made the stay very comfortable upon returning to just relax. We booked this hotel as we had a medium sized group and wanted to be able to enjoy spending time together. The location offered a peaceful setting in the mornings and plenty of restaurnats in the immediate area to walk to. July 22, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Its the little things When I arrived at my room I looked around and found that something was dripped down the front of the dress where the microwave sits, it was missed by housekeeping. I went out into the hall and found a maid who did come back with me to clean it off but it then made me wonder what else was skipped. In the restaurant at the breakfast buffet I was eating my breakfast I was approached by a staff member who asked me when my mouth was full if I had my breakfast coupon, I pointed at my bag while nodding my head to the affirmative, she then said "get it out and put it on the table" How rude. There a few other little things that were also frustrating. Overall its an ok stay but there are many options around the area and I think that management should make sure the little things don't trip them up. June 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Very close to train and shuttle stops. Attached to shopping area with lots of food choices. Kind of too bad there is no pool or hot tub. Was a little put off at check in when using my state id (which I have had no problem with at multiple other locations) and was told that I had to have a purchase order to use my state rate, he made it seem it was a huge imposition. Like the area, but may use another hotel chain when I go down for a conference next time. June 11, 2013

It was our first time going to NYC,so we weren't sure what to expect but were very happy and will definitely stay again. The location was perfect. Bus service into Port Authority couldn't have been easier or more economical . I'm somewhat of a "hotel snob" and have nothing negative to say about this hotel. The food,cleanliness and comfort were all top notch as well as the staff and service. May 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The hotel and amenities are great. The cast, not so much. The upside: Restaurants & shopping are steps away. Convenient location, and free self-parking. Easy access to midtown Manhattan- 15 minutes via express bus right outside the hotel. The downside: Staff is a bit cocky, and doormen are very nosy. Expect them to look at you sideways if you do not submit to valet parking, or smoke a cigarette. They would not honor my valid claim for the Best Price Guarantee program offered by IHG. May 7, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nearly flawless A very good experience, with one exception, at a time we needed split second timing with the shuttle, we were disappointed. We had called ahead to have it ready, they confirmed, but then weren't ready. Shuttle was, driver was somewhere in the hotel, didn't respond to his page at first and took his time getting there. Yup. We were late. But, if it weren't for our severe timing needs, it would have been fine, especially as the free service that it was. Small refrigerator and microwave in the room is a real plus for food savings. Comfortable. Recommended! April 12, 2013

The room once again was clean and spacious and anything extra I needed (toothpaste) was brought to my room right away. I came in late on Saturday nite and was greeted to the sounds and smells of Caribean nite coming from the urban plum it was just the pick me up I needed after spending my day in the snow and rain! The food and drinks were outstanding not your typical run of the mill hotel fare. This hotel even though in a busy area made me feel at home! Thank you again staff at the Holiday Inn Secaucus! The room was very comfortable, the location was fantastic -- everything I needed was within a few steps from the hotel (late night restaurant, stores# and the Starbucks cafe in the hotel lobby was very convenient for grabbing coffee and snacks on my way in and out. Plus the hotel provided fresh fruit daily. The bus to New York City stops right next to the hotel so it could not be easier to get back and forth to NYC #its a quick ride thru Lincoln Tunnel for $4). Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Food & Beverage appalling Dinner service was just wretched, You can't get into the restaurant past the central bar, and 8 or 9 TV's on different stations in the dinning room. A bartender that had to have the waitress to ask me if I if I wanted a gin or vodka Manhattan, and she didn't think that was odd! Then to top it off he didn't know how to make one. For dinner I asked for no starch and the plate came out loaded with fries It wasn't all bad though, I had a very good steak and sauteed mushrooms. Then the check came, and I paid cash plus a coupon good for an entree. The waitress apparently thought that the word entree meant free drink and tried to hit me up for more money. Overall a very poor service experience. March 1, 2013

I had the security lock on so he was unable to enter, Your front desk had double sold the room and he had a key to enter that room. I was in room 588 I believe. Never have had this happen before anywhere in the world and I travel a lot and stay about 70 nights a year in hotel rooms. Thank you. February 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Hotel with everything you need....except reliable wi-fi As my title states this is a very clean hotel with everything you might need. It was recently remodeled within the last couple of years and looks great. However the wi-fi to put it delicately has been absolute garbage for the last 6 or 7 years I have stayed in the Harmon Meadows/Secaucus area. My last stay it was so bad I checked out 2-nights early and booked a different hotel. It is not my computer (I've had 5 computers in this time ranging from mac to pc) Everytime the wi-fi is needed it's like 1993 again with a 2400 baud modem. Quite annoying. More than likely it is a bandwidth issue so hire an I.T. consultant, professional or whatever and get it fixed. February 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious room and friendly helpful service WE recently stayed at Holiday Inn Secaucus. The staff --everyone including the front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff--was very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed a very good meal with reasonable prices. Our teenage girls, tired from the NYC holidays crowds and all that walking, enjoyed room service (again very reasonable prices) and sprawling out on their double beds in their room down the hall from us. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds were super comfortable. The bus into NYC is literally 2 minutes from the hotel and brings you right into the Port Authority near Times Square. It is very easy to use, quick and runs with great frequency. We will certainly stay here again on our next visit to the Big Apple! The only drawback is the lack of good signage to get into the overall plaza and find the right place to turn in--it's a big circle, so you just come around again, but they could use better signs!
