Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldnt stay again Staff very good, front of house all clean and good, looked good, staff were personable and smart, and happy to help Restaurant / food great and staff similar to main reception as above Room - cleanliness and privacy a concern - carpet looked v dirty, bathroom door split, and I could hear EVERYTHING that went on in the room next to me which I could have done without I'll probably use a premier in next time for similar / less money and certainly more privacy in room and cleaner if i compared this experience against past experiences Rated overall as poor - when I'm away for business being able to relax in my room after a long day is main priority March 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lovley building not the best of hoilday inns how ever the buiulding was lovley. wwe had a smoking room right at the other end of the hotel not very good if you cant walk far, and no lifts !!!!! the plug was hanging off the wall, the lock on the windows was glued so u couldnt open them. The food wasnt to good either (same menu both nights) i asked if i could order off the other menu and was told NO, breakfast was a lot better than the evening meal. Loved the pancakees. the young male waiter wasnt that bothered in fact he looked like he really couldnt be bothered, not what you want to see in the morning. the health club was really nice but the changing rooms was open plan. swimming pool is to close for 2months. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great overnight stay on Reward Pts Stayed one night in an Exec room on reward pts. Room was clean and inviting but a little jaded, e.g. torn sofabed armrest. Really good shower, large TV, iron and ironing board that actually worked (iron base was smooth and clean unlike so many hotel irons). The reception staff were friendly and helpful.. We asked for a quiet room and got one (Room 234), but worth noting that there were 3 or 4 short staircases to climb to get there. May not suit everyone. The wooden screens at the window were very effective in blocking out sound and light. The hotel lounge area is split into a number of different sections so there are quieter areas if the bar gets a bit noisy. We stay in the Tonbridge area on a regular basis because our sons are at school there. The Holiday Inn is one of the best. What would I like to change: 1) very little at this hotel 2) being able to get breakfast on reward pts. March 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Restaurant The room and cleanliness was fine but the restaurant has a musty smell. Evening meal was of a poor standard and service slow. The waiters were efficient and apologetic for what was obviously a badly run kitchen. I could hear the Chef shouting when the kitchen door opened and the Head Waiter asked him to be quiet. Breakfast was of a much better standard with excellent well cooked bacon. Reception staff were helpful and cheerful. February 11, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding blessing and party My Husband and I had our wedding blessing at the holiday inn maidstone - sevenoaks on the 29/12/12 All the staff were very helpful and friendly and catered to our every need. Kate was a great at organising everything and helping with all the small thigns that as a bride can slip your mind. The garden room was perfect for our ceremony . and the penhurst suite was well suited for our 40 guests. They held a great buffet and there was plenty for everyone and our guests also recieved 20% off at the bar. Our room was lovely very comfortable bed and great room service too . Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A customer's comments I arrived on crutches and the staff bent over backwards to help me. For example, moving our room so I didn't have to navigate so many stairs. I was very impressed with their kindness and helpfulness. Related to that - a lift would be a rather useful addition to the hotel! The bar staff were helpful and friendly too. The internet access is FAR TOO EXPENSIVE. It's been free in all other hotels I've stayed in for several years now. The taps in the bathroom sink send the water too close to the sink which makes it hard to wash your hands. The air-vent in the bathroom (if there is one) doesn't do much of anything. A slightly more flexible form of breakfast would be helpful. One doesn't always want to spend £15 on a small breakfast. January 2, 2013

However when my wife was taken ill the staff on duty could not be faulted on their support and the way they assisted in getting my wife cared for. My wife having been hospitalised on my return to the hotel a fresh room had been made available for me. I cannot praise the staff enough. January 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by went to the wrong hotel I went to the Holiday Inn Maidstone... they could not find my reservation... they even gave me a room... after lunch they informed me my reservation was at another hotel... Maidstone-Sevenoaks... so I grabbed my bags and headed over to the other hotel... the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming... they gave me an upgraded room with all the amemities... I cant say enough how kind they were... breakfast was exceptional... I would highly recommend this hotel November 30, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Stay Staff seemed more took up with the party that was going on in the hotel that night. Service was poor, asked for extra milk and tea on entry and ended up going back to reception twice before I got any. Took ages to deliver our meal and failed to deliver the drinks ordered with it! No shower gel in the bathroom, though there was in the Northampton Holiday Inn that we stopped in 2 weeks previous, so I didnt take any, Just Very Disappointing and compared to Northampton, they really need to get their act together. Nothampton was faultless and the staff were more than helpful and extremely welcoming. November 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Too short a stay Got to the hotel late - 0200, and received a nice welcome by a very quite reception. Got good recognition as a PC member, and a speedy check in process soon saw us in a nicely appointed Executive room. If anything the bathroom let things down slightly, nothing really bad just some of the newer HI's show up some of the older ones. Had a great breakfast, good selection buffet as you usually find at HIs. One small point was the fact the main area of the hotel restaurant was set up for an Xmas Lunch Do, and we seemed to be eating in the Break Out Room. It seems unfortunate that patrons of the hotel have to play second fiddle to these forms of celebrations. But I guess that is the shortfall with only having one dining facility. The two waitresses seemed over worked, although they were always polite and professional. Overall a great stay at a great hotel. Good facilities, good efficient and friendly staff. Would certainly stay here again if in the area. November 27, 2012

We were delighted to find that, due to our membership status, we were even given a free upgrade, complete with nice chocolate and assorted bottled water. Our room was clean, as was the hotel overall. On business, we only had time to sample one buffet meal one evening. Good quality food at a fair price. Drinks were, we felt, overpriced. Nice swimming pool and gym. A good location close to motorway links. We hope to return! November 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay even when things didn't work out We had a one night with breakfast and the hotel is excellent. All very clean. We also opted for a Leeds Castle package to be included, but unfortunately the castle was closed that weekend. However, all the staff couldn't do enough to put this error right and we are very happy with the outcome. So even when things don't work out according to plan, we still had a great time. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A disappointing evening meal, the rest was fine We booked the stay for a birthday celebration. The hotel, room and communal areas were good and just what you would expect from Holiday Inn. The only problem was the evening meal. The waiting staff were willing and friendly, but it was clear they had obviously not been trained for waiting tables. There was a very long wait for each course, which was particularly upsetting for guests with young children. When it did arrive the food was not very appetizing. On the other hand, the breakfast the next morning was great as usual. We complained about our evening meal experience and the reception staff were extremely apologetic. October 28, 2012

On reading your advert later we found a small * indicated that breakfast was only encluded for young children. Shall have to get a pair of stronger glasses. October 14, 2012

Food was generally very good but at time service was a little lacking in detail, especially around breakfast. Gym and pool are good bonus. All staff very helpful... July 22, 2012
