Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attentive staff! Was really impressed with the staff during my stay, and in particular Amy who was incredibly attentive. I was thrilled to see the kitchen catered for my wheat free diet and was really surprised by the variety on the in room dining menu. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the City centre as a port for both leisure and business. February 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A PLEASANT SURPRISE I STAY AT THIS HOTEL SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR, FOR BUSINESS. HOWEVER THE SERVICE AND RECOGNITION OF MY IHG STATUS ON THIS LAST TRIP WAS EXCEPTIONAL. IF YOU CAN, BOOK A ROOM IN THE HISTORIC OLD BUILDING. IT IS FULL OF CHARACTER. HOWEVER DO NOT EXPECT 21ST CENTURY STYLE OR AIR-CONDITIONING. THE ROOM WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE, AND FURNISHED APPROPRIATELY. THE STAFF HERE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING. February 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nicely situated hotel Good central Sheffield hotel. The room could have done with a face lift and the sash windows rattle in windy conditions. The staff are the jewel of this hotel and very friendly and helpful. The bar and resturant are nicely appointed and lots of original features have been restored and maintained as its a pretty historic building. February 3, 2016

It would be better to turn the room heating on before the guest arrives. My heatting was not working but was sorted out by the engineer. Friendly staff and good service. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Check if they have a function on if you are planning to sleep Stayed for a weekend away. Hotel had a function on and disco noise prevented any sleep until after 1am. Bar and restaurant were closed all evening to guests so the function could use them. The building has no sound proofing. We were warned at check-in but when I asked what I was supposed to do with that information, I just got a shrug of the shoulders. Went to reception about midnight to complain and found that complaints are a common occurrence when they have functions. Night duty manager said he would see what he could do, which was nothing noticeable. Mentioned it on check out and had a phone call later in the day from the duty manager (Si?) who agreed a 33% refund of the prepaid rate. This has not been received. So, the management need to decide if they would rather be a hotel or a nightclub because they cannot do both at the same time. No Spire upgrade despite rooms being available for sale. Tops it all off really. Very disappointed with the management. February 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantasitic Hotel Stayed for one night in a 'Spa Room' which was well worth the money, the Jacuzzi bath was a nice touch! The hotel itself is a beautiful building, much posher than I was expecting! The staff were all friendly and professional. All in all, a great stay and I would recommended! February 2, 2016
