The overall stay was pleasant and the hotel was nice. I was given a room key to to a room that was already taken. I would've walked into an embarrasing situation if she had not caught us at the elevator. Once we got a new room, it was a smoking room instead of nonsmoking. When we got THAT situation fixed, they were all out of king beds so we had to stay in a 2 double bed room instead. I was really looking forward to a king bed... :/ All of the rooms were nice and the downtown noise did not bother my sleep and the staff was very apologetic about all the mix-ups. I have no hard feelings towards them, just maybe a little more training is needed?

by tobynjess Complete let down!!!!
We arrived with the assumption our room was a "riverfront View" since that was the option I was given while reserving. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was friendly but slow moving. We got signed in and headed up to our room. Room # 458.The room was located at the very end of the hallway and this is by far the smallest room we have ever rented. My husband measured it and room was approx. 15 foot long by 12 foot wide. With a king size bed in it. The "riverfront view" was facing the river but you cant see anything past the back of the SCI-PORT CENTER. Which was hard to make out through the cloudy windows. We left for the casinos and upon arriving back at the hotel and attempting to enter the room our keys would not work. My husband went down to get them reset and then we entered with no problems. Once we laid down to relax and watch some t.v, our hearts dropped when we heard the approach of a train. Come to find out the hotel is less than one block from a train depot. We contuined to listen to train horns blow through the evening.
So on saturday morning was a normal stay we left out before lunch, we arrived back at the hotel around 3 to find out our keys did not work again. My husband went back down and had them reset again. We stayed in the room for a few hours and left back out for dinner. We came back to our room that evening to find out once again the keys didnt work. He went back down stairs and had them reset. We tried again to open the door with no luck. I took the key and went down myself. I expalined to the lady at the front desk that this keeps happening and we have been less than pleased with our stay thus far at the hotel. She was very nice, she said sorry and offered us free breakfast, a break on our room rate and 1000 points. She even offered us a suite or to change rooms but we declined. We were not complaing to get anything we just wanted to get in our room. During this time, a second younger girl made us new keys, again. After we were done we went back to our room only to find the keys did not work AGAIN!!!!!. We went back downstairs, and the younger girl told us she would take us up and let us in. Up to this point, we were treated very kindly by everyone in the hotel even with the issues, we thought customer service was very good. Once we arrived to the room, the young girl had to rapidly insert and remove multiple times for it to unlock. She came into the room, she did acknowledge that the room was very small, and proceeded to inform us this was a handicap room. I told her there was no way and I know that from personal experience, having being in a wheelchair myself for months, this was in no way a handicap room. And although I told her this she insisted I was wrong and this had to be a handicap room due to the handle in the shower. There is no possible way a wheel chair would fit through the doorway in the bathroom. My husband is 5'11 and 180 pounds and only had a small amount to spare on either side. I dont believe this is a handicap room but feel like employees should be more knowledgeable.
On sunday our final day, we headed down for breakfast, which we used our coupons for. And needless to say, would have been very disappointed had we had to pay $9 per person, for what is generally free at other chain hotels. But on the up side when we went to our room to pack our things we knew the trick to unlock the door. So we didnt have to get them reset on Sunday.
I am attaching pictures of our "Riverfront view", damage found in the room and also the doorway into the bathroom with my husband standing in it to show the size and that this is not a handicap room.

The room was clean.
The A/C was cold.
The water was hot
The hotel lobby and common area(s) smelled of cigarette smoke indicating that the designating smoking areas were too close.
I thought that I was a character in the movie "My Cousin Vinny" in the hotel scene with the train outside. The train(s) came through 3-4 times in one night and I thought they were in the room with me.
