Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel for Singapore visit Hotel is very clean with all usual amenities in room. Shower was very good with two different heads to select. Three family members of stayed in a two double bed room which was not large enough. Could not get suit cases out of the way. Beds were very hard and wife and I could not sleep without waking up numerous times during the night. Pillows were not up to standard. Pool was excellent with nice surroundings. Hotel is surrounded with good local food choices which we used. The location is great for Orchard Road shopping. All staff were helpful and knew what they were doing. Apart from the hard bed and cramped room we enjoyed the stay. December 16, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Inflexible staff A mix up with my reservation was handled badly by the front desk staff, particularly Ivy. She left me feeling foolish with my issue still unresolved. She said she would let me know the outcome but never did. This is my second stay at this hotel and I have struck this sort of poor attitude in the staff on both occasions. One night I phoned room service to ask if they could offer a garlic bread with my carbonara. After checking with the kitchen the answer was a flat 'no'. I fail to see how a commercial kitchen doesn't have the ingredients to make a simple garlic bread. Again I put this down to the indifferent attitude of the staff. The scrambled eggs at breakfast tasted like they were made from powdered egg, a cheap and substandard offering. I am not impressed with this property and if I can help it will choose somewhere else on my many business trips to Singapore. December 11, 2014

Throughout the stay the service was impeccable in every way-breakfast, executive lounge, hotel lobby, concierge and cleaning staff were excellent. The atmosphere was always calm and relaxed and the speed of service was commendable. Rooms were spacious, the location is handy for the city centre and the hotel room and common areas were clean and attractive. December 11, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre in November! We arrived after midnight, tired & jet lagged, and the front desk staff were warm and welcoming. We fell sound asleep and slept so well. That bed was fabulous! Each morning, we had a wide range of hot & cold foods in the buffet and it was delicious! The hotel offered American, Cantonese, Indian dishes, so we enjoyed dim sum, seasoned fish, rice, noodles, scrambled eggs & bacon, toast, danishes, cereal, fresh fruit & yogurt, and/or roti prada. We looked forward to their delicious breakfast. The staff were wonderful start to finish and each time we spoke to someone or had a question, it was clear as a bell that really nice people work at this hotel. The one small down side to staying here was that the hotel assigned us to a room for people in wheelchairs. So the bathroom door required a pushed button to open & closed automatically. Also, the door to the room had a delay both opening & closing. It took several attempts to close the hotel room door each time you left or came in, which became annoying after three days. The morning we checked out, the card key stopped working and we couldn't leave the room. We tried several times, but had to call the front desk. The manager and another staff opened our door for us. She apologized and offered a free ride to the airport. While the room was comfortable and quiet, being placed in a room for someone in a wheelchair wasn't ideal. December 10, 2014
