Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Stay We had just driven 950 miles....it was late, rainy, and getting dark. The desk staff greeted us warmly, had our room ready, and gave us a 20% discount coupon for the restaurant. After settling into our room, we called the restaurant, placed a to go order, and they called us back when it was ready. The woman who served me had everything prepared and ready for me to take up to my room. The food was great...particularly the onion rings. But the kind service was stellar. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant stay except for one thing My husband and I had been on the road awhile and he really wanted a hotel with a sauna and I really wanted one with a hot tub/Jacuzzi, so we chose the Holiday Inn. You can imagine my disappointment while my husband sat in the sauna and I just had to sit in a lawn char because there was a bright green sign saying the tub was closed for repair.. That lawn chair did not ease any of the discomforts of a sore back that I had been anticipating. When we checked out and the woman at the desk asked about our stay, I said everything was great except for the nonworking Jacuzzi. We didn't get a sense that she was too bothered about this concern. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mostly good but a few problems Like most hotels today the bed covers are far to heavy. I have to remove the comforter and remake the bed before I can use the bed. The bathroom is very small with little counter space around the sink. The desk is a two tiered unit with a lower level for the computer. Good idea, but the whole unit is far too wide. In the small space available, it was next to impossible to get past the chair at the desk going to from the bathroom or hall door. August 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Secure and Sleepworthy The check-in was easy and efficient. The beds were very comfortable as I was asleep quickly for me, and didn't toss and turn much at all. To me, relaxing in a strange place is dependent upon the security a motel offers. The doors at the end of the halls all lock and require a room key for entrance. The room doors have double locks on them, including a the most sturdy deadbolt lock I have seen. The only room flaw I noticed was a faintly heard conversation from the room next door. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with the usual waffles we have come to expect, but also 2 meats, link sausage AND bacon. The scrambled eggs were excellent as a bit of corned beef hash was mixed in. A huge bowl of mixed fresh fruit was offered, as well as biscuits and gravy and muffins, yogurt and cereal. I was stuffed enough I didn't need to eat lunch. I leave my computer at home as most Holiday Inns provide a lobby computer as this one did. The pool appeared clean although I didn't use it. I did use the exercise room and was pleased with the number of machine options. The bar appeared cozy but I don't drink. My wife does though so I bring liquor for the room. Checkout was a breeze as they slip a receipt under the door so I just turned in my keycards. This location is superb, just a few blocks from downtown and the new casino. August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location We arrived around 4:30 pm. We were able to check right in. We got everything set up in our rooms and went down to the hotel restaurant at 5 pm to eat supper. From there we walked to the Tyson Events center for a show. After the show we walked to Perkins - which was located nicely between the events center and the hotel. We never felt uncomfortable about walking in the neighborhood or entering our hotel. The only problem we had was getting out of town the next day we got lost trying to locate our exit. But we used my daughters phone and we were able to get turn by turn directions to get out. We will be back to stay again in a month. For that stay we requested early check in so hopefully we can get in early that day as our concert starts at like 1 pm. August 11, 2014
