Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant stay. My room was small, but very clean, quiet, and contained everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was newer and very nice. I dined at the restaurant and the food was good at affordable price. All of the staff were as friendly and helpful as could be. I would plan on staying there again my next time in Sioux City. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Hotel in Sioux City What makes this hotel the best is the staff, who time after time provided outstanding customer service to me during my stay here. The restaurant had excellent food and great service. I like it when the menu does not try to baffle you with fancy french names for common dishes. Every time I asked for something, the staff was more than willing to accommodate me. This hotel has a shuttle service to the airport and local hospitals and they were prompt and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. When I stay at a more expensive competitor, I have to ask for a bed board, but not at the Holiday Inn, I enjoyed a good night's sleep every night. I have stayed at other hotels in Sioux City, but this one is the best. Because of my experience here, I will be back . My experience here has made me more inclined to stay at a Holiday Inn in the future. November 12, 2013

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The room had been remodeled, was spacious enough for the 4 of us, and was very clean. I will definitely stay here again. October 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed They no longer offer free breakfast to Platinum members. Which is fine, but if you're going to make a change like that, let people who stay there know! And when I'm told by front desk personal "they were losing too much money" like it's the guests' fault, I don't take kindly to that. Will go back to staying at the Holiday Inn Express. The room was very clean, comfortable beds as always, and Charlie's, the restaurant, was SO good, and had the best service. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, quiet and excellent value. For 5 years when in town we have stayed at this hotel and find it an excellent value. This year the room seemed somewhat crowded-too much furniture. The furnishings were in good condition, and the room was clean and in good repair, The A/C was working but too noisy. The staff is friendly and if you are a rewards member, you receive an extra reward. One hiccup this year is that at checkout the computer was down. We were told that they would email us a receipt. Here it is 3 days later and we still have not heard anything from the hotel. September 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Right Downtown Stayed here for a business trip at the airport -- there is another Holiday Inn that is closer to the airport but I didn't know that until later. This HI is right downtown... nice little bar and resturant in the hotel. Weight room, pool and business center are all well maintained. Provided a breakfast buffet coupon. Buffet was well stocked with eggs, bacon, ham, etc. Resturant staff treated me professionally. Double queen room was updated and room did have a fridge. Missed having microwave and TV channel listing. Easy acess to Interstate 29 and many other dining options within walking distance. August 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad situation My stay at the Sioux City Holiday Inn cannot be considered good. We were returning from Sturgis, and had made reservations earlier in the day. When we entered the room we immediately noticed that the bathroom floor was flooded! The front desk sent someone up to check on the situation and we discovered that apparently there was a leak associated with the toilet in the room above us. Whenever the guests in that room would flush the toilet "water" would start dripping profusely into our room. Supposedly a maintenance man was called but he never showed up before we checked out in the morning. Since the hotel was full we could not be moved to another room and we had to cope with the problem all night. Some judiciously placed towels helped but we didn't know exactly what was dripping down on us. All we got from the hotel was a voucher for free breakfast, which saved us about $3.00 apiece. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by a little disappointing I would like to be clear that the staff here are fantastic. Very cheery, helpful and pleasant. However, the facilities themselves were disappointing. I travel for work and stay at Holiday Inn's and Express very frequently. In short, the phone in my room was not working, the tub caulk was peeling away, the bed was not very comfortable and the gym equipment, if it turned on at all, was squeeky and noisy. I will expected better and will not stay at this hitel again. August 22, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I was there for a week and during my stay I found the restaurant to be sub-par. The only decent meal I had there was the Sunday brunch which was adequate. The rest of the meals were not. The steak tips were chewy and over done and the accompanying mashed potatoes were overly salty. The pork tenderloin sandwich was done in the style of country fried steak and was very crispy and tasteless. Luckily there are other restaurants within walking distance of this facility. The number and variety of television channels also leaves a lot to be desired. I would not recommend this facility. August 21, 2013

When I had questions at the main desk about getting around downtown construction or when I needed a room preference, or when I needed a smile in the early morning restaurant, the staff everywhere was efficient and accommodating. They made it easy to have a relaxing stay. The lobby even has an automatic mister in the corner that emits a pleasant fragrance to the area. August 14, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed The bed was comfortable, however I would not recommend getting a whirlpool suite because the pump motor is very loud. The climate control (heat/ac) was older and very loud when it turned on. There was also a caravan of parents and for a sports team travelling through the area and stayed at this hotel. They were roudy, rude and obnoxious and the hotel staff was of the attitude of "Oh well!" They had a tail gate party at the rear entrance of the hotel and blocked the entry from other guest. We had to enter from the far side of the hotel and take 6 flights of steps to get to our room as a result. I will never visit this hotel again. July 27, 2013

After years of business travel, I don't like surprises, and this hotel is always reliable in that respect. I will mention that there is a rail engineer who always awakens me during the dark of night when I am in town. I would like to show him a way to silence the whistle, which I am prohibited from describing here. July 22, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bums in parking lot I stayed one night and had great room/experience. I called next day to make reservation and was put on hold and they never picked up call. So I had to call my travel office and have them make reservation. I was never put in as platinum member, so had bad room. I asked to get moved to another room with fridge and they did, but the freezer didn't work and my items were spoiled. You need to upgrade your phones in the rooms. Then to put the cherry on the top, I was asked for money from a bum in the parking lot. May 20, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Night at Sioux City Holiday Inn 1. Pulled in and Police had stopped a car in the parking lot. 2. Went in and the clerk told me he had stayed a lot of places and this was the best value in the area. 3. Shower drain did not work. 4. Next morning looked out window and 3 hispanic men were leaning against my car in parking lot. 5. Went to parking lot and a gentlemen was in his car having a confrontation with the 3 hispanics leaning against my car. He was shouting and taking there picture on his camera/phone. The 3 hispanic men made some jestures to us when I came out and walked across the parking lot away from the cars. I went in to report and was told it was the the owner of the building behind the Motel that had trouble in his parking lot. 6. Staff didn't seem to worried and called no one. April 21, 2013
