Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Material Condition and Cleanliness Gone Downhill I have been staying at this hotel off and on for 10 years and this is the worst condition I have experienced at this location. From the lamps to the toilet were broken. The room linens were not in place due to a broken drier and I had to request room service to have them delivered. The laundry was in the hallways and not taken away until late at night and the general areas looked like they were not vacuumed daily. The front desk staff were young and seemed to be focused on having fun and not attention to what needed to be done. When I left I forgot my receipt and it took 5 phone calls to get a correct receipt emailed to me. July 27, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Working Weekend My wife and I travel a lot together and this is a great hotel to stay at. Will at the front desk is great, The guy always has a smile, ready to help and must of all very friendly. When I check in and Will is working it is a real joy to be here, You will never ever see him get upset with any problem he may encounter. The man knows his job and does it WELL. Lee is also a very good person to deal with, she makes sure everything is great. I love this hotel. The Sunday breakfast is awesome. It is a buffet and it is grand. Take time out of your travel to try this hotel, you will be impressed. Very clean rooms, The maids do an awesome job. I would like to Thank everybody for a job well done.!!!!!! July 26, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly front desk. Great pool! Great value for the room-the kind size bed was very comfortable and the view from the balcony quite nice. The pool area was clean, easily accessible, and the pool bar was a nice touch. Friendly staff as well. The hotel was close to the restaurants and bars. Overall wonderful stay. July 22, 2015

Staff (Scott) upon checkout was horrible. Although he tried to be kind, he totally screwed up his priorities by not dealing with the customer who was there first! July 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Updates needed, Again I have stayed at this hotel for more than 8 years while on business in the Pax River area. The hotel has gone through the cycle from very good to poor. It seems to be heading into the poor zone again. There have been numerous staff changes at the front desk. Not the friendly staff that was there 2 years ago. Mostly young and don't really seem to care or know the business of customer service. The hotel has allowed smoking in some of the rooms by a transient work crew and those rooms stink. I have personally reported smoking in this smoke-free hotel. Apparently not much was done. I was greeted with an ionizer still running in my room when I checked in. Unacceptable! Maintenance on the air airconditioners is poor. I had to go through 3 rooms to get to room that would cool off in the 90 summer heat of the area. My second room had an a/c problem. It was reported, allegedly fixed and the problem remained. Staff told me it was fixed. It was not. Some rooms are very nice in this hotel. New a/c units, updates to electrical outlet availability, furniture in good shape, no odor, etc. Overall this hotel needs some management help to get things under control. I'd like to return to this facility as it offers many extras the others in the area do not. Bar is great. Betty is fantastic! The breakfasts have become fairly routine with some of the favorites removed from the rotation (i.e. biscuits and gravy). Many families use this facility for vacations, the pool is nice. All in all this Holiday Inn is minimally acceptable. With some attention to detail it could be better. July 21, 2015
