Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Problem w/ room There was a problem w/ our bed, when we called the desk we were moved and offered a rebate on the room. Since we had to move close to 11pm this was obviously very inconvinient, we were expecting the reduction to reflect this, along with the fact that our bed was wet. My husband and I were surprised it was a $10 credit.....really......You could have done better and my review would have reflected it. Your manager had the chance to make it right but instead we were left with a sour taste and the feeling of being taken advantage of because we didn't cause a stink. It was a 2 day stay and we had 2 rooms in our party. I am sorry to say we would look elsewhere for our next visit to Solomans. October 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely poor service & dirty rooms When we arrived with all of our luggage at our first room we were assigned, we found that it hadn't been cleaned yet. There were dirty towels laying on the bathroom floor, the sheets were still messed up from the previous guests and the room was overall dirty. Instead of attempting to take all of our stuff back downstairs from the 5th floor, we called the front desk from that room. We were told that we would get a call back right away. So we waited. After about 10 minutes we called back down again and told them we wanted a comparable room, preferably on that floor. We were then told that due to the inconvenience we would be upgraded to a suite. It was on the 3rd floor and somebody would meet us there with our room keys. So we took all of our luggage down the long hallway again, down the elevator, and back down another long hallway. Then we proceeded to wait for another 10-15 minutes. Getting irritated, I called the front desk again and I was assured somebody was on their way. Eventually somebody came and she was very nice and apologetic and you could tell that she felt really bad. After unloading all of our luggage, we had very little time to get back to our event at this point. So we tried to make a quick lunch. We pulled out two plates and realized they were dirty - one still had dried syrup on it. The glassware was dirty and there was no towel to dry dishes with. When quickly freshening up to make it back to our event, we noticed the bathroom floor was sticky and hadn't been mopped. Checking out on a Sunday, we decided to go the breakfast buffet in the restaurant. The hostess seated us and she brought our juice and coffee. We told her that we would like to get the buffet and she told us to help ourselves and our waitress would be around. During our entire time at breakfast we never had a waitress come around until we wanted our check. So we weren't told that we could get omelets or other eggs and other items not on the buffet. And the buffet was not good - the eggs were big batch eggs not really scrambled but they sat in a pan while cooking so there were a big square slab, the beef must have sat in au jus for hours and was tasteless and felt like rubber, and the only thing good on the entire buffet was sausage and bacon and made-to-order waffles. But for almost $40 with tip for both of us for breakfast, I expect more than that. As we were trying to get our check, that's when we found out that we could have gotten an omelet or something else but because nobody served us we were never offered. Eventually after calling the front desk, the breakfast was taken off of our bill. The people at the front desk were nice and genuinely felt bad, but the people in the restaurant didn't know what they were doing and basically walked around doing nothing. We are not the type of people to just complain and typically let a few things slide because we have hospitality backgrounds and know how difficult the industry is, but this was a horrible experience. Dirty rooms, bad food, and a lack of service pretty much sums it up. We will definitely be looking at other hotels next year when we come to this same event. Plus we are getting involved with planning the event next year and will probably look to take the entire room block somewhere else. October 16, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ok, but a little run down the hotel in one of the few in Solomon MD, i had four rooms in my reservations, all of which were ready and available at check in, not the case for other groups checking just behind me. the rooms were "OK", definitely not great. I have stayed at various H.I locations, and this is the second worst, from a facility maintenance standpoint, only miami airport is worst.. overall the location is good, and the staff were helpful. I was only there for one night, but the general issues that our group discovered were: Food (from Room service) left in hall ways passages for over 14 hours, there were various groups making noise and screaming in the hall ways at 3 am, and no one stopped them. the general check in area is dirty, and rundown, there are some real old sofas pushed up against a wall. overall faciltiy was VERY dated, and not fresh and crisp, as you would expect from a global chain such as HI i was there for a one night weekend guys only fishing event, I would not bring my family back to stay here, as this was not as clean as I would have thought.
