Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Street side rooms noisy Street side rooms pick up all the traffic noise. Trucks start at 4:30am and finally stop around 11:00pm. Odd numbered rooms are street side. So not the best of places for a peaceful nights rest. Hotel restaurant was nearly terrible. Lack of beer selection and so so food made it a one and never go back experience. Very convenient location to stay if you need a quick commute to Cambridge/Boston area. Perfect stay for business. December 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like having your own apartment in the city with great shuttle service. The Holiday Inn Express in Somerville is a convenient hotel close to Boston. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We loved the fact that we could park our car and take a shuttle into the city and be picked up when needed. I have been telling everyone about our experience. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed experience First the good: the front desk staff was pleasant and efficient on check in. As a platinum I was upgraded to a suite on the 7th floor. The suite was newly renovated, spacious and very comfortable. The hotel lobby is bright and comfortable. Now the not so good: Dinner in the hotel restaurant was so-so. The servers were indifferent and slow despite the fact that the restaurant was half empty. The salmon was overcooked and drenched in too much butter and garlic. I had several hours of work to do that required an internet connection. Unfortunately the wireless connection was next to useless. They didn't have any wired internet access in the hotel. After two hours of promises that it would be fixed I told the front desk manager I would have to move hotels. They offered to move me to the 4th floor. They didn't have a suite available but at least the wireless worked! So after finally my getting my work done at 12:30am it was time to go to bed. Pulling back the duvet I found several long black hairs in the bed. The sheets had not been changed from the previous client! So back to my former room on the 7th floor so I could get some sleep. I finally got to bed at 1am... The hotel night manager did the right thing. They gave me a free breakfast and comped my room. But I left the hotel exhausted and disappointed. December 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Comfy Stay I stayed for one night to attend my high school reunion. My room was beautifully decorated, very clean and very comfortable. I had a very restful sleep and really enjoyed my stay. Check in and check out were very easy and the desk staff was very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel. December 19, 2014
