Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poor Customer Service We stayed at this property for the 2nd New years Eve because oour friends were playing in the band for the New Years Eve Party. We attended last year and had a wonderful time, We were the first one in line for the party in the ballroom and they took the doors off at the other end, opposite of where we were and let people in who had just arrived and we did not get a table to sit at to hear the band. We had 15 people in our group and they would not accomodate us at all. The manager in charge just threw up her arms and walked away and told us there was nothing she could do. When people pay to stay in the hotel, they should have the right to reserve a table, very unacceptable. I know that several guests staying in the hotel that night were very unhappy and none of us will return. January 8, 2013

Weak wireless signal and no cable provided for network connections. The room was clean and property was nice. December 26, 2012

It also has a bar and restaurant onsite which is very beneficial. The staff is always very helpful. No continental at this location though because of the restaurant. December 20, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful!! Over Thanksgiving weekend I got married in Spring Lake and we used this Holiday Inn for our room and board and our guests. They were absolutely amazing. Everyone at the front desk and the manager are more than helpful and friendly. We ran into an issue with our rehearsal and the manager was more than willing to help us find a space at the hotel. It was also a very clean and beautiful hotel. There was even construction when we were there and you would have had no idea if you didn't see it with your eyes because you definitely couldn't hear it or see signs of upheaval. I would highly recommend this Holiday Inn for your next trip!! We were VERY pleased! December 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by clean rooms and great service I have never been to grand haven and i have stayed at many holiday inns in Michigan and this by far is the nicest one. The staff was very friendly at check in time, the rooms were clean, the food was great and no one bothered you. The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We do plan to come back in the spring / summer so we can enjoy the nice weather and the beaches. It was rainy and cold when we were there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average at best I have now stayed at this property three times in the past 5 years I believe. Each time has been during the fall while taking a drive up along Lake Michigan to check out the fall colors. The first time I ever stayed here I thought it was great. Excellent location, comfortable rooms - it was all good. The last time I stayed here - 2 years ago I believe - the hotel was undergoing a renovation. It truly looked like a war zone yet nothing was mentioned at the time I booked the room. I ended up staying there anyway but that was my choice. I did write to the hotel management as well as corporate and while I heard back from corporate - once nothing was ever resolved. So why would I stay here again? As I said, I love the location, a great stopping point for me and I am a Priority Club member so I decided to give it another try. When I called for reservations they assured me the renovation was complete, which it was. One side of the hotel overlooks an inlet from the lake while the other side faces the expressway. As a Priority Club member - and I booked well in advance - I received a room facing the expressway overlooking a dumpster that was located directly across from the ice machine. Someone has to get "that room" I'm sure, I'm just kind of surprised it would be given to one of their members. Since complaining to hotel management and corporate did nothing for me last time I'm not going to waste any effort this time. This was my last stay at this hotel. October 22, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in October for our anniversary. When I booked the room online, I was not given an option as to what type of room to choose. I did however, request a queen or king size bed. The site stated that they could not guarantee requests, and I understood that. However, I was still disappointed when we arrived to find two full-size beds. They said they "upgraded" us to a room with a view of the river. It was mostly a view of the roof of the restaurant attached to the hotel. The hotel was full for the weekend due to a couple of weddings, so we couldn't switch to another room. One night we slept in separate beds, and the other night, we both tossed and turned in the same tiny, hard bed. If I could do it again, we would have cut our losses and left after the first night. I've learned my lesson - call if you have specific options you'd like in your room. I would have thought they would have purchased new beds when they did their recent renovations, but apparently the remodel was mostly cosmetic. Also, as their listing does state, there is not a free breakfast included. October 15, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy with our stay Upon entering our room the smell of urine was very strong. I called the front desk to request a room change, instead they sent in a cleaning crew. Two young girls showed up with spray bottles and a toilet brush. After cleaning the toilet they sprayed "pink stuff" on the shower curtain and left. The bathroom needed a through disinfecting including the floor, not something to mask oders. The weekend we stayed, there was a wedding at the facility and it was also homecoming weekend. The noise level in the halls was horrible, finally quieting around 3:00am. We stayed on the first floor with friends of ours staying on the fourth floor and they had the same complaints.
