I came to this hotel because of Business in the area. I was able to bring my spouse along with. We were both very impressed by the kindness of the staff in this hotel. Every worker we encountered said Hello or at least gave us a big smile. This started at check in and continued throughout our stay from the restaurant staff to the housekeeping- everybody was nice. We loved sitting outside at the Tikki Bar in the evening. There was music playing and great seating right near the pool and lake. It felt like a little island get away right in Michigan. We enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and seeing the lovely boats. The boardwalk was built beautifully. While at work my spouse enjoyed the pool. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were open during our stay. Also on a nice note the pool hours are very good.

I called in advance to use my IHG Reward Points and was told I couldn't. The hotel couldn't give me a reason as to why. Finally after a lengthy search and the now late hour, I was forced to get a room at their "best" rate. I ended up paying premium price for a Holiday Inn room. Then upon check-in, the desk clerk tried to charge me $100+ more than was quoted to us (I was on speaker so my girlfriend heard the quoted price too#. After a lengthy protest, the manager changed the rate to what was quoted.
After paying premium price, I was given the handicap room next to the elevator without a balcony and a view of the other hotel wing & the HVAC unit below. Not what I expect for being forced to pay the premium price for an IHG member. It was a Saturday night so people were using the elevator all thru the night. Our rest was practically non-existent. The staff said there was nothing they could do. We left as fast as we could the next morning.
NEVER in all of my 1000+ stays at Holiday Inns #except for the Holiday Inn in Ft. Meyers) have I had such a horrible and completely terrible stay. My disgust, anger and 110% disappointment in this stay for the price I was forced to pay has me rethinking staying an IHG Rewards member. If this is the kind of treatment a member gets, I'd hate to see how they treat non-members.

Stayed with family there for a family wedding celebration. The stay was nice, with exception of a terrible experience at the property restaurant. Food was good, but service, billing, timing was the worst I've been through in several years
