We have stayed at this hotel several times, and this time our stay included breakfast. At 9am the restaurant was not busy, but many tables were dirty and unbussed. The table we chose had clean silverware and coffee cups but we had to ask for a damp rag to remove the syrup residue. Our waitress, Billie Jo, needs remedial food service training. She brought our food minus the English muffins and toast, and after we asked for it several times she said the toaster was unplugged. We finally got the bread after we had nearly finished our meal, but we had to ask her to bring butter and preserves. Dry toast? Seriously?! The room was dusty and the countertop in the bathroom was being held up by a 2x4. The pool area was closed during our visit. The incorrect Internet password was posted in the business center. The bartender was friendly. Overall, a disappointing stay.

The motel sits in historic downtown St. Joseph. You can walk through the downtown area or walk the paved trail along the river. The view from the upper floors is good on both sides. Church steeples and beautiful historic buildings or the Mighty Mo. I have received a yes sir when I've had to ask for anything, which hasn't been often. After all these years, you can still tell when you walk in to a Holiday Inn and this motel is no exception.

We would come back here in a minute. The staff was very professional and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby and public areas were well cared for and beautifully decorated.
