Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 HI... finally gets rid of carpets.
The front desk staff was wonderful. She checked me in while dealing with a very difficult mature couple who were late for an appointment because their tour bus ran late. Despite their ranting the HI employee maintained her cool and made me feel welcomed. She was far more graceful than I would have been if I was in her position.
Our room had new panel flooring not the traditional carpeting that hides gunge from the last 10,000 guests to have used the room. Kudo's to HI for leaping into the 21st Century before the competition.

Hotel location was perfect for our event. The hotel is old but the rooms, lobbies etc. are updated with a modern look. As always, the beds were extremely comfortable. The one issue we had was the the hotel restaurant. On Sunday morning, we went to enjoy the breakfast buffet. There was just one other table eating when we walked in however, EVERY table except one, in the restaurant had plates, glasses, food etc covering it. They had not been bussed. We sat at the one table that was clean after checking the buffet which appeared to have fresh food. After the one waitress took our order and got us our drinks, she disappeared and was never seen again. We helped ourselves, left our breakfast coupons on the table and left. When we left, ALL the tables were covered with dishes and food.

Overall, everything was wonderful. The only challenges had to do with traveling with young kids and the beds being a bit high. Beyond that, everything truly was perfect.
