This was likely the worst experience i have ever had in a hotel and certainly at a holiday inn. Friday night we check in and I notice there are red spots on the sheets that look like dried blood. We were headed out immediately so I told the front desk about it and asked that the sheets be changed. Without asking me my room number, they said oh yeah we know about it. When i asked how was that possible she admitted that she was wrong. When i returned to the hotel later that evening, not only did I find that ALL of the elevators were not working and after climbing up to the 6th floor that the sheets had not indeed been changed. The next night the kids were swimming in the pool--I was there with my kids. An employee came down started yelling at everyone and then said that the police came and told them they had to shut down the pool because there was too much pushing and diving. I talked to the employee and to the front desk and stated that there was no one diving in the pool--kids were jumping, but everything i saw was safe. Plus, if I was there with my children why would you close the pool to us. I can understand kicking anyone out that was under age if they were not accompanied by an adult. She quickly said that there were a bunch of boys that were jumping and you're not allowed to jump in the pool. I challenged and said the sign says no diving, it does not reference jumping. Overall the quality of customer service and professionalism at this hotel is extremely low.

We travel frequently for hockey tournaments and generally don't stay with this chain but decided to give it a try as we recently became rewards members. Elevators were not working within the hour of our arrival and the staff's response that was overheard was "there were a bunch of kids messing around and broke them". We had just returned from our hockey game so the kids were not the issue, it ended up being a broken fuse. Staff intimidated kids, parents overheard staff telling kids they needed to be in their rooms by 11, when we had just returned from our 8:30 pm game, in addition had to carry the hockey bags up 7 flights of stairs. Staff intimidated kids when telling them to be quiet in the hall, and hid behind the corner watching them, even asking one of them if they were talking about her. The boys are 12, this was extremely inappropriate. More attention needed to be paid to the intoxicated individuals outside of the bar and outside of the hotel. We will be cancelling our rewards and will not book with this chain for future hockey tournaments.
