Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Not the best Holiday Inn we have used, but not bad for a tourist oriented area. The room was clean and amenities as expected. Hotel was undergoing renovation, so perhaps the staff was a bit distracted. July 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sub par AC System The AC system is on motion sensors. This means when you are asleep in your bed and not walking around the room, the air will shut off. And it will stay off until you get up again and trigger the motion sensor. It made for a very uncomfortable stay. We were up every hour to turn the air back on so that the temperature would be comfortable in the room. July 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by advice I enjoyed the stay but as a note for those coming to visit...the hotel is within walking distance but I would suggest driving down to parking area because there is a ton of walking around down there...for the hotel, it would be nice to have some type of shuttle to the historic areas July 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A PLACE TO STAY FOR PASSING THROUGH! Every time we are in travel mode to Florida or back we always stay here. Our experience has always been very positive! July 1, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Roaches, no towels, no Wifi We stayed at this location 3 years ago wen visiting St. Augustine, and we were so happy with our choice at that time. We have since always chosen a Holiday Inn for accommodations when we are traveling, and have always had a good experience. So naturally, when we chose to visit St. Augustine again to celebrate my birthday with friends, we made reservations at the same hotel we stayed in last time. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. Within 5 minutes of arriving in our room, we heard the toilet running. This continued every couple of hours for our entire stay. Then on our first night there, we had to kill a nearly 3 inch roach (no exaggeration) that was running up the wall next to the bed. The air conditioner was extremely noisy and woke us all up several times in the night. It sounded like a truck was driving through our room. The WiFi never had enough signal to be useful. On our second day, we returned from touring the city extremely hot and sweaty, all anxious to take showers. Our beds had been made and our dirty towels had been collected, but no clean ones were left for us. We were close to the gym so we just went in there and grabbed a stack of towels. We noticed that night that even though red juice had accidentally been spilled by us the night before on one of the beds, the sheets were not changed. There was a still a large red spot on the white sheet. On our third and final day, we were contemplating whether to eat breakfast at the buffet in the lobby at a ridiculous $13.99 per person, or venture in to the historic district. While sitting around deciding and getting ready to pack, we again saw a massive roach running across the floor and then across my friend's bare foot. He kicked his foot only to have it fly on to the bed where my friend and I were sitting. Screaming and chaos ensued, as you can imagine, while our husbands tried to find it and kill it. It ran behind the TV stand, and returned again about an hour later, at which point we were able to kill it. We all immediately grabbed our stuff, quickly packed, and got the heck out. I was horribly embarrassed to have invited our friends along for my birthday weekend, only to have them stay in a room with all of these disgusting visitors and other issues. My friends of course are trying to make me feel better by saying it makes for fun memories and they had fun anyway, but I am disgusted. And the amount of money I spent on this two night stay, I could have stayed several nights in a cheap motel and probably had the same experience. I'm not convinced I will return to this hotel again, and I'm certainly disappointed I am out so much money for the experience we had. June 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by short vacation Nothing else to make comment off. In general a nice stay. June 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Newly remodeled rooms and great location We recently stayed here on vacation. Property is super close to the historic district, and we could either walk directly to where we wanted to go, or take a very short walk to the local trolley tour stop and hop on that. The rooms we stayed in had just been remodeled, so everything was new and clean. Staff was very friendly and super helpful about both the hotel facilities and all the attractions. We will definitely stay again when we return to the St. Augustine area. June 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because wifi was not available during our 3 day, 2 night stay. Took our iPads to front desk where, of course, everything worked fine but In our room you could get a signal only in the bathroom near the shower in a corner. On second day advised front desk again and from the response received, they knew it wouldn't work in our room/area. Why advertise free wifi If you cannot have it at every location?!? Breakfast was very, very good and ladies (servers) were absolutely wonderful. Trucks took up a lot of parking spaces and none available on Sat night when hotel was at full capacity, front desk clerk was helpful in guiding us to park at front near fence but not ideal, car could easily have been hit. Super comfy beds, we slept beautifully. June 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by always a good choice My husband and myself live in jax and always stay @the holiday inn on our staycations. Bed is comfy, breakfast buffet is good, rooms are clean. Staff is great. Def would recomend June 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Feeling Welcomed When I first walked into the hotel, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member, He is wHAT really made the stay enjoyable. I was traveling to see my son for the first time since his Dad passed away so it was very refreshing with the way everyone treated me. The only BAD thing I can say is that, there was dust under and around the microwave to where you could see housekeeping was not doing their job, but other than that everything was fantastic and I will stay here again and I've already been recommending it to my friends and relatives. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, Best staff in many years of our travels. This is a great hotel in the best possible location of the Historic area of St. Augustine. We enjoyed it very much. June 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice quick Stay Was in St. Augustine for a fun trip. Only place available close to old town was the Holiday Inn. It's walking distance to the old town, and to the Old Town Shuttle, but they called for us to get the shuttle. Staff was great. Room was nice, clean and roomy. We had a suite. Hung at the pool in the evening and that was nice and relaxing after a long day walking around. June 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Front Deak & Restaurant Staff Michelle at the front desk is always so professional and helpful. Love to stay when treated so well. We stay at the hotel at lease 2 times a month so nice to have great people to greet us. June 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay just internet is usually not working We had a nice stay but when we wanted to use the internet it didn't work or would kick us out after just a few minutes. June 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Holiday Inn is newly renovated This Holiday Inn is being renovated and is good value for money. The only advise I have for the manager, is to check the way the workmen have put the mirrors, lights etc in the room(s). Either they did not know what is straight, or it was a rush job. That is my only criticism. Otherwise a nice place to sleep and have breakfast. June 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Quality Hotel Friendly staff Great room Great food Great location June 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location............ You can walk or take a short drive to most anything in St. Augustine from this location. The beginning of the Trolley line is very close. There are not many restaurants within walking distance but we did enjoy the Raintree. A big plus was Michelle checking us in, she gave us a wealth of information on what to see and do. I wish everyone had her help when they checked in. Some of the items on the survey I just could not remember as we have been to several other locations since those dates. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will plan on returning the next time we are in the area (remodeling should be complete soon). Thanks to Mary Ann in the restaurant who was especially nice and to those who cleaned our room. June 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Very accommodating, friendly and helpful staff.... May 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Close to attractions Hotel is close to sites and historic district. Would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast. Staff was attentive and courteous. May 8, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3rd stay and always love it Everything was great as usual. I have stayed here 3X in the past 3 years. The only thing I do not like is the constant groups of people smoking directly outside the middle doors on both sides of the Hotel. There is no way to get out with out going through the smoke. This is a convienent way to get to and from parking. April 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very happy with my stay Staff was great so was the area. Free coffee outside of the room was nice not to keen on the small pots in the room. The 500 points verses a bottle of water is a much better option. My only concern was the shower floor tile. It was very beautiful when first seen. The problem is the tiles was extremely slippery when soap got on it. That could have cause a major problem for a elderly person. Overall we loved our stay and look forward to coming back and we will. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Being Updated but not Upgraded The staff at this hotel are very accommodating, thoughtful, and customer oriented. The hotel is currently being updated but the effort falls short. Our room had been updated. The carpet was new and the walls had been painted but the paint was thin in areas so that you could still see the underlying color, it was splattered on lamp shades and on the mirror in the bathroom. The mirror was obviously the old one with a well worn frame. The bathroom counter top may have been new but the old sink was about an inch below the bottom of the counter top and had not been sealed so any water splashed in that area ended up on the floor. In general, a very poor job of renovating! In addition, the bathroom had apparently been cleaned with Clorox, which left a VERY strong odor in the room. We were forced to wash things down and to leave the room door and the bathroom fan on for several hours to rid the room of the smell. In short, this Holiday Inn does not measure up to 99% of the sister Holiday Inn Express branded hotels!! April 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ST AUGUSTINE AWESOME TOWN We had a wonderful stay. Old Town Trolley tours are the best and Mary's Restaurant was best breakfast ever. Mary herself is a gem and been in business 28 years. Holdiay Inn was great location and staff very friendly and knowledgeable April 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by sleeping with young kids running in the hall. Hotel was convenient, room clean and well appointed, staff was inviting and accommodating. However, I was on the third floor and in the evening a bus load of 9-11 year olds, on a school trip, checked in were assigned to the third floor. They were loud, unruley, rude and when asked to be quiet they were for about 5 minutes. Finally, at 11 pm I asked to be moved to another floor and the staff accommodated me, moving me to the fourth floor. At that location I had a decent nights sleep. Except for the school kids the stay was pleasant. April 13, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tough Choice!! The hotel did not make up the room very well- had to have them come back, also internet was a problem for most of the time- we needed to make flight reservations and could not do so. the hot tub was not functional-jets not working...this is unacceptable for a 3 day stay. Although they were out of the prime area of interest, they did help with shuttles and pickups Staff was excellent at trying to resolve the problems, most of which were out of their hands- especially- Michelle at the front desk.-She went out of her way to help. April 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Overall...should not advertise Wifi While my overall experience with this Holiday Inn was a good one and my trip as a whole was successful, I am thankful I was there for pleasure and not on business. The wifi connection was a joke. And frankly, that is my experience across the board with Holiday Inn. Unless you provide Wifi that can actually be connected to and utilized from the rooms, you should not add as an amenity. I would recommend this hotel for a pleasure trip. But if on business or highly rely on internet service, this is not the place for you. April 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great stay close to Old St Augustine Very clean room, close to all St Augustine's highlightes April 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shower backed up 1 TV didnt work Upon arrival the room had a strong cleaning solution odor that was a bit overpowering. The room had 2 televisions with one not working. We only need one television so we didn't say anything. My first shower the water backed up to my ankles in depth. I went to the front desk and the lady wrote up a work order to have it fixed that day. The next morning the shower backed up again. They got it fixed after 2 days. It would have also been nice to know that there was remodeling going on at the time of our stay. For the price we paid for our stay and service I would not recommend this location to anyone. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stop We went through St. Augustine on our way home during spring break and we decided to stay the night. The man at check-in (Benji, I believe) was very nice and helpful. The hotel is having a bit of renovations done, so when we got off the elevator the ceiling tiles weren't installed on part of the floor we were on. My only complaint was that their Wi-Fi had too many people on it and we kept getting an error message telling us that too many people were signed on. That was pretty aggravating because my DH and I had planned on watching a show or two after the kiddos went to sleep. March 17, 2014
