Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent room No gluten free items available for my wife at breakfast. Hotel hallway 3rd floor has seam breaking lose, needs repaid. August 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BIRTHDAY WEEKEND Room was neat and comfortable, a little warn. Shower head needed replaced. Over all was a nice visit. A/C unit was a little loud at times. Cost of stay was a little high but was a convenient location. August 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great experience great value..front desk lady (red head) was out standing she went out of her way to help us..provided accurate info on where to eat ect...she's the reason we will be back August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel & Vacation!!! My husband and I enjoyed our stay here and can't wait to come back next year. Everyone and everything was great. The rooms were very clean. I could've spent my entire vacation just relaxing inside. Your cafeteris staff was great!!! Love the breakfast. August 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Houskeeping and floor staff The housekeeping and floor staff (aside from front desk employees) where exceptional and helpful. The cleaning lady was the only staff member to offer to change us to a different room due to all the construction being done on our floor around our room and cluttering the halls. The cleaning staff and workers doing renovating where very polite. August 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Nice hotel with good location relative to downtown. August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay with great staff The staff at the Holiday Inn in St. Augustine was great. Nice clean rooms and a full breakfast. August 6, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No business center, poor TV function Not the friendliest staff, but ok. Room was ok but the TV was very hard to change channels. I reported it and it appeared someone came to look at the TV, but it worked no better. There is no business center at this facility either. Breakfast is decent and location is good for access to downtown. August 5, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unclean and Roaches made us leave in the middle of the night The hotel was dirty. The lobby bathrooms were dirty, the carpets in the hall way were dirty, the elevator was dirty, but most of all, my room (the place where I'm supposed to feel safe and clean) was dirty, unkempt and did not function correctly. I'll just focus on my room: 1) the door didn't shut all the way without slamming it 2) The shower didn't run properly (had to call maintenance on this one) 3) The bathroom sink didn't drain 4) The bathroom shower curtain didn't fit properly and wouldn't go all the way across 5) purple stains on the tile in the bathroom 6) mis-matched paint in the hotel room (where fixtures had been moved and no one painted over it, so you could see the shape of the fixture on the wall) it's as if they tried to update the hotel, but the contractor was not a quality one. 7) the room was NOT clean. Someone else's makeup stains on the bedding. A dirty straw on the floor, a dirty sticker from someone's trolley tour. Stains on the couch and pillows. Felt grimy. 8) HUGE roaches/palmetto bugs crawling over the room. This was the last straw, this is when we packed up and left in the middle of the night, after killing several HUGE roaches. (I took pictures in case you want to see them). My sick 11 year old child had to be woken up so we could drive several hours home in the middle of the night. August 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel The hotel was not immediately in the historic district, but was close enough for walking if you like walking. Hotel was clean and staff was accommodating. Pool and hot tub were clean, but we were disappointed that they closed at dusk. We are accustomed to Holiday Inns free breakfast and were surprised that they do not offer that at this location. We brought our own breakfast food and did not eat at the hotel restaurant at all. I would stay here again. August 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor No business center, No comp breakfast, hallway was filled with new furniture from floor to ceiling, rate was over priced. Hotel looks old and dated. Remodeling employees were noisy in the hall. July 31, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never again I arrived with my wife and two daughters at 1:30 pm. The deck clerk, a disheveled man treated me "can I help you". I said I have a reservation to which he replied that check in wasn't until 4 pm. Then added let me check to see if you are even at the right place. I gave him my name to which he said I see you have a reservation, not acknowledging that I am a platinum priority club status since 2003. He Haida that my room would be ready around 4. So we left to go kill some time in town. Upon our return, there was someone else to deal with. The room had one bed and I had reserved two. I went back down and the gentleman switched to a twin room. Still no acknowledgement of loyalty program. No water, cookie or free drink offered. The hotel is under renovation and nothing was said of this. All around a poor experience with the staff. We will not be back to this property. July 31, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and Great Staff Enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn St Augustine. Can walk to down town historic distric..what a fantastic city with plenty to offer. Great place for a family vacation! July 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above expectations which were high As a frequent business traveler, all I ask is to meet expectations of a comfortable trouble free stay. Although I have stayed here many times before, they consistently exceed my expectations. July 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel The Holiday Inn St Augustine is a very nice Holiday Inn hotel. The staff are wonderful and rooms are very clean and up to date. July 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by if you need a place to sleep, dont expect much more To give them credit, they say they are under construction. It rained a lot during my stay and their seem to be leaks everywhere. My sleep was poor and having 6 giant pillows wasn't what I needed. After getting a smaller pillow, i still found the bed uncomfortable. Lastly, If you are looking for a warm meal to be included with your stay.... look elsewhere. there is a charge for even their poor selection of a continental breakfast. July 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn and would recommend it to our friends. Rose at the front desk checked us in and was very friendly. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay My experience with this hotel was wonderful. You don't find many hotels that serve full hot breakfasts with variety. Rooms were very nice. July 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bds and excellent customer services I would recommed this Hotel because they were so attentative and accommondating. Whenever a call was made to recieve towels etc they were very prompt. They provided excellent service even while we were eating in the dinning area. The common area was always neat and clean. They never cmplained about us having a good time because we were there for a family reunion and some of us had not seen each other for several years so we did get kinda loud! The overall experience helped to make this a very memorable occassion. July 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First time visit It's our first time to visit St Augustine and we enjoyed the weekend. Our room was just recently renovated and everything is in working order and clean. The internet connection could be improved and refrigerator freezer needs to be defrosted. July 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT SERVICES!!! We have a wonderful time in St. Augustine and this hotel stay was simply wonderful. The staff made is GREAT!!! They were on the ball from check in to check out. We will definitely return and stay here AGAIN!!!! July 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, Clean, and Good Location Great Housekeeping staff, we needed towels and trash disposal. They were very friendly, and accommodating. The location is good. We walked to dinner in the Historic District with our kids ranging from 8-15. Sightseeing along the way and a great meal at a nearby pub. Lots to do and see in St. Augustine. I highly suggest Anastasia State Park. The St. Augustine area is very laid back and friendly. Anywhere we went we got great food and service. A slight bit of construction noise in the morning was the only disturbance. We brought a white noise machine just in case. Our typical hotel stays in the past may have included a continental breakfast, but the buffet is $13 a person. Our 13 and 15 year olds don't count as "kids eat free". I highly recommend City Coffee Company, yum. The hotel is cheery. The pool and hot tub were nice to relax in after sight seeing. July 10, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room by the Pool Door to room was hard to open/close/lock. The room was next to the pool and the lighting was never turned off. People were out at the pool until well past 11:00. No one form the hotel did anything until they were called. Ice machine was broken on the first floor the whole time we were there. This hotel was overpriced for it's accommodations. July 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by worth the stay overall pleasant experience, clean, and walking distance to most places July 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location & Nice & Clean The Holiday Inn on Ponce DeLeon in St. Augustine served as Host Hotel for our Family Reunion and it was an ideal hotel: great location, friendly and helpful staff, and just a nice clean well kept hotel for a great price. We'll be back next year! The Wilson Family July 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Not the best Holiday Inn we have used, but not bad for a tourist oriented area. The room was clean and amenities as expected. Hotel was undergoing renovation, so perhaps the staff was a bit distracted. July 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sub par AC System The AC system is on motion sensors. This means when you are asleep in your bed and not walking around the room, the air will shut off. And it will stay off until you get up again and trigger the motion sensor. It made for a very uncomfortable stay. We were up every hour to turn the air back on so that the temperature would be comfortable in the room. July 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by advice I enjoyed the stay but as a note for those coming to visit...the hotel is within walking distance but I would suggest driving down to parking area because there is a ton of walking around down there...for the hotel, it would be nice to have some type of shuttle to the historic areas July 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A PLACE TO STAY FOR PASSING THROUGH! Every time we are in travel mode to Florida or back we always stay here. Our experience has always been very positive! July 1, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Roaches, no towels, no Wifi We stayed at this location 3 years ago wen visiting St. Augustine, and we were so happy with our choice at that time. We have since always chosen a Holiday Inn for accommodations when we are traveling, and have always had a good experience. So naturally, when we chose to visit St. Augustine again to celebrate my birthday with friends, we made reservations at the same hotel we stayed in last time. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. Within 5 minutes of arriving in our room, we heard the toilet running. This continued every couple of hours for our entire stay. Then on our first night there, we had to kill a nearly 3 inch roach (no exaggeration) that was running up the wall next to the bed. The air conditioner was extremely noisy and woke us all up several times in the night. It sounded like a truck was driving through our room. The WiFi never had enough signal to be useful. On our second day, we returned from touring the city extremely hot and sweaty, all anxious to take showers. Our beds had been made and our dirty towels had been collected, but no clean ones were left for us. We were close to the gym so we just went in there and grabbed a stack of towels. We noticed that night that even though red juice had accidentally been spilled by us the night before on one of the beds, the sheets were not changed. There was a still a large red spot on the white sheet. On our third and final day, we were contemplating whether to eat breakfast at the buffet in the lobby at a ridiculous $13.99 per person, or venture in to the historic district. While sitting around deciding and getting ready to pack, we again saw a massive roach running across the floor and then across my friend's bare foot. He kicked his foot only to have it fly on to the bed where my friend and I were sitting. Screaming and chaos ensued, as you can imagine, while our husbands tried to find it and kill it. It ran behind the TV stand, and returned again about an hour later, at which point we were able to kill it. We all immediately grabbed our stuff, quickly packed, and got the heck out. I was horribly embarrassed to have invited our friends along for my birthday weekend, only to have them stay in a room with all of these disgusting visitors and other issues. My friends of course are trying to make me feel better by saying it makes for fun memories and they had fun anyway, but I am disgusted. And the amount of money I spent on this two night stay, I could have stayed several nights in a cheap motel and probably had the same experience. I'm not convinced I will return to this hotel again, and I'm certainly disappointed I am out so much money for the experience we had. June 25, 2014
