Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good impression Friendly attentive staff, clean guest room, comfortable bed and good food in the restaurant. Luckily due to a room upgrade, I was able to park in the hotel car-park next to the entrance, otherwise I would have had to park in the multi-story across the main road which would have been difficult since my car is left-hand drive (I live abroad), and of course the need to transport luggage over a distance. Two minor negative points : room was dark, even with all lights on. the promised morning newspaper did not materialise as none had been delivered. this was - not the hotel's fault. February 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious, comfortable and very pleasant hotel This is currently my favourite Holiday Inn hotel. Having spent 12 years in a mobile job I've stayed in a few, both in the UK and abroad. The décor is excellent and gone are the usual long narrow corridors of typical hotels. Instead they are wide, spacious, well lit and well decorated. The rooms are non-standard too with coloured lighting, classy bathrooms (which aren't typically stuck in the corner of the room# and quality facilities. The only negative is the heating is provided by air conditioning units which take time to warm a room in winter and turn off when you leave the room #key activated). Parking isn't great being over the other side of a dual carriageway but its not too bad. January 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Christmas at Stevenage Holiday Inn I booked an Executive room in this hotel so that I could park at the hotel which worked well Considering it was Christmas the hotel worked well, the only downsides being the obvious (& bubious) stains to the bed pillows, cushions, curtains & desk chair which were disappointing. The glass bathroom door although opaque was a little disconcerting. Breakfast was good but understandably the restaurant was not open for dinner on Christmas or Boxing day although, it would have been good to know this when we booked. We did suffer communication issues with a none English speaking maid who wanted in our room to clean but obviously not the pillows, cushions, curtains or desk chair Overall pretty disappointing for an executive room. The disco also was very good and catered for all ages. I would recommend this event to anyone and would gladly attend again next year. All staff encountered were very helpful. January 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by new years eve would have liked a choice for meal. bar service was poor having to pay for drink upstairs then go down stairs to bar with receipt to get drink was bad.This was after eleven and only on certain bottled beer losing you a lot of custom. January 5, 2014
