Great Customer Service, friendly and knowledgeable staff..... clean, spacious room..... ideal location, walking distance to the centre of stratford...... definetly stay there again and recommend to others to do so, too.

When booking, if you want breakfast included, make sure you choose the right room option.
We only found out in the breakfast queue, that breakfast wasn't included with our room. It's then either a complete hassle to pay for breakfast (at reception) or you are charged over the odds, on your room.
The booking reservation confirmation does not make it clear if you've selected a 'room only' rate - so I advise checking exactly what room option you've selected and what is, or isn't, included.
Other than that, the hotel is very good. Pool / gym staff are excellent and friendly.

Double the price of our last booking in October, for worse service.
Staff all very helpful, as ever, but poor management. We arrived at 1.30 but had not finished the bar lunch by 2.30 when our children arrived to meet us. No-one on duty at the bar between 1.30 & 1.40, when another customer went to fetch someone. When she did come, she had to answer two room-service calls, before attending to the queue at the counter. Likewise, in the evening, we were nearly late for the theatre because took 25 minutes for a straightforward bar meal order to come. Huge office party in the bar rendered all else inaudible.
This visit cost nearly twice as much as our last visit in October.
Room as clean and comfortable as ever. request for room near a lift was duly fulfilled. Very quiet room with lovely view across the Avon.
Very quick and efficient check-in and check out.

I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for the past 7 years and can recommend it for the location, comfort and service - the latter being particularly good this time.
However a couple of points; on arrival as a Priority Club Member I was given a letter telling me I was entitled to a complimentary daily newspaper. On requesting one for the next day, Saturday, was told this offer applied to the week. Why offer this when I was booking-in on a Friday...? Car Parking - a big no-no this one. At the end of my stay I paid the bill for 'extras' taken and was charged £5 PER DAY for parking. I had to pay another £5 to get through the barrier. So, £15 for a guest to park their car. WI-FI access - on asking if I could use their PC, I was told a charge of £5 applied. Was told that 'nothing was free anymore' when I questioned if a guest had to pay...Also - footpath to town - HI you need a light at the exit from your car park. But don't charge £5 for access....& please leave biscuits on hospitality tray.

This is our third visit to the Holiday Inn in Stratford. It is well located with in easy walking distance of the centre of Stratford. The staff our pleasant and efficient and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were attentive. There is a lovely view from the restaurant. I am sure we will be back again!

This Holiday Inn is just right for visiting Stratford upon Avon! It's near the town, but not right in the centre, so nice and quiet. The rooms are comfortable, the public areas are spacious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

The location of the Hotel is great, and the fact parking is on site is brilliant.
In terms of the room, this was cold - and despite changing the air conditioning this did not really work!
The breakfast is good, but with hot cerial bowls and cold plates this did not help.
Had to queue for breakfast which was wierd as have been all around the world and have never had to queue for 20 mins for breakfast!
Overall ok, but could have been so much better!

My 1st stay at the Stratford Holiday Inn in April 2012 ended with the hotel overcharging me for an extra night & charging my 2 coworkers for parking even though they didn't drive a car!
Nonethess, I gave the hotel a 2nd shot only to be let down again! First, the hotel canceled my reservation without notifying me. Had it not been for a coworker mentioning my reservation when making hers I would have show up tired from traveling with no room to stay in. The front desk tells us they're switching wireless plans but the system still shows old rates. Then, 3 nights in a row I return after a hard day's work & none of my room keys work, so I have to wait at the other end of the hotel for someone to answer the phone & finally walk up a card to let me in (30 minutes lost each time)! My remote goes missing so I call front desk & am told they took my remote to give to another customer. What about me? Then, I get overcharged a higher rate for 1 night & my 3 coworkers get charged for parking even though they had no car!! Kitchen staff and housekeeping did fine, but doesn't come close to making up for the rest. NEVER AGAIN!!! Way OVERPRICED for the level of customer service and experience...

Got a free upgrade to executive room which was good. Heating only blew cold but actually normal temp was fine. Huge bed and good bathroom. TV could have been flat screen and view across river was nice.
Overall very good with a good choice for breakfast.

I have regularly stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years and like it because of its central location .A short walk to the town and you have the choice of approx 30 restaurants and also the RSC as well .In summer its very nice to walk in the basin with all the boats moored up .
What i have steadily noticed is that over a period of time although the signage has had a makeover nothing much else has .The rooms (even the executive ones) are now looking very tired and the furnishing especially the fabric chairs now have that sheen of being very much used .The televisions are also the old style big and bulky and do not offer the breadth of channels that even freeview can offer .I may stop staying if no upgrades are made and go elsewhere .
As i use the hotel mainly for business and stay 3-4 nights some weeks i would like to see some improvements .One thing to note is the friendly staff especially reception

Myself and a friend had both booked double rooms and both had extra large beds, choice of pillows, good clean bathrooms and good choice of lighting with reading lights particularly appreciated. The only downside of the stay was breakfast - the first cup of tea was poured as we sat down and was therefore cold by the time we had drunk our juice. Hash browns and bacon were both overcooked and only just about edible. The selection however was excellent and I think had I not chosen a cooked breakfast then my experience of the food would have been quite different.

CHOOSE TO STAY AT A REPUTABLE HOTEL FOR OUR FIRST TRIP TO STRATFORD.EVERYTHING I EXPECTED BUT FEEL THAT MOST OF THE STAFF COULD DO WITH HOSPITALITY TRAINING.

I'll get my only 2 real moans out of the way first - the coveyor-belt type self-service toasters at breakfast are a nightmare, I saw loaves of bread wasted by customers who burned their toast, or managed to cook it correctly one side but not the other. Get rid of these horrible instruments of torture immediately and replace them by a bank of pop-up toasters.
Secondly there was no indication when booking with children that their attendance at the Health Club/swimming pool is severely limited in the evenings, this meant we had to leave an 11 year old and 13 year old in the room disappointed with their dry swimming kit, while we used the facility. By all means get tough with anyone, children or adults, who makes a nuisance of themselves, but do it on merit not age. Why does this country have such a hang-up about families?
The staff were magnificent throughout so well done all of them for making it a seamless and pleasant experience on the human contact front. It is worth noting that shareholders and directors take the lion's share of most hotel chains' profits, so to see the lower paid members of the group still showing excellent customer service and care is an achievement. They are the ones who interact with us, it is the faceless ones who live in big houses in nice villages who never get their hands dirty!
The room was excellent, clean, well provided and spacious except for lack of a refrigerator which these days should be a standard provision. We knew this so took out own travel fridge.
Car parking was well-organised and reasonably priced: £5 for residents makes it a wonderful stress-free haven near the centre of town. The Stratford Park-and-Ride isn't always the lovely facility it is cracked up to be!
Given that the food was largely done on a self-service buffet system I felt it was fine for the price, and the variety on offer was good.
Bar drinks are slightly on the expensive side of OK but if you worry about that then just ask for a jug of tap water and drink your own alcohol in the room, that's what a significant number of people do these days.
The place is large but it is reasonably easy to find your way around. The signage could maybe be a little bigger and more regularly spaced.
Check-in and out was quick and efficient. They were very helpful in allowing a late check-out which made our stay hugely relaxing.
The fitness/health suite I thought was fine, my wife felt it was a bit dated and that there were a few grubby corners. We disagreed on that one!
Pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna, plus some fitness equipment is what we got and reckon it's a reasonable facility. Staff do seem to have their work cut out preventing large pools of water collecting in the changing rooms at busy periods, so maybe a re-flooring/drainage system needs looking at.
All in all a happy experience in a pleasant environment at a decent price - my few little moans should NOT put you off, it's well up with the opposition, indeed slightly ahead I'd say.
Just a quick mention for Stratford itself because this hotel is obviously used by many tourists - despite lots of visitors most of the local attractions are reasonably-priced and the pubs, restaurants and shops can offer bargain fare, I think it is a great tourist destination.

What can you say? We were warmly welcomed, the room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the location perfect for visiting the town on foot. We will definitely visit again. Hopefully next time the performance at the theatre won't be cancelled!

we stayed at youre Hotel in August this Year, we are from Sydney Australia . my husband and i found your hotel at Straford upon avon
fantastic , the room was so spacious,the king size bed was so comforable especially as i have a very bad back .
The staff at brekie were so frendly , the cooks, the french cheif , and the english cheif so fully of joy they maid our day so happy .
Youre Garden setting is so peaceful with the river with the ducks and swans we had a drink or two with some other guests from the US and Ireland there i did not want to leave , location is great close to shops , theatre,restaurants
I WOULD like to tell you about customer service lady on front reception her name is ROXANNE she went out off her way to help me nothing was to much trouble, i had to call my nanna on the phone in Scotland to tell her when we would be arriving at her place and what train we would be on ,but i had lost her phone number , and i could only get it on the internet , but we did not have a lap top with us ,she told us the computers at the hotels were broken and would not be fixed till monday , , this was friday,i told her my story and how my nanna was 99 years old and would be worried , Roxanne took us to the office let us use ,office computer .thank you

Given the lack of cost to the hotel for these, this is blatant profiteering!

Worth every penny, this is a lovely holiday in a truly ideal location for the whole of Shakesphere's town. The hotel itself was superb with friendly and obliging staff.
We made extensive use of the hotel leisure facilities, all of which were clean, good working order and again, helpful staff.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to others and will without a doubt use this hotel again.

Had a geat time here over the midterm with the family. Good big family rooms here with plenty of space and a pool to chill in after a hard day doing the various shakespeare houses. Decent breakfast was included..all in all a good time!

We have stayed at the Stratford Holiday Inn on several occasions. . The lady on reception didn't seem to know the time of day and having given us our room number then decided to change it.
We then booked for dinner only to find that there was no carvery and nothing to suit us. It was all either red meat or curried or spiced.
Extremely disappointing - can only hope that our experience on the 8th November will be vastly improved.
